That wheezing is the sound of her breathing. It is always heard because classical guitars are miced far away and have large diaphragms so some breathing is picked up as well.

This is by far the most heart felt one I've seen yet. She owned it and made it hers. Bravo. Also, to the critical posts, live performances will occasionally have mistakes but she moved right through them like a professional. @B17Boy I'm a classical guitar teacher and I don't like this version... The Preludio Saudade should be more nostalgic and doleful 'cause Barrios wrote afther his wife death and its dedicated to her. The second part lacks a true sense Barrios tries to capture in the chords, inviting to meditation. She has a great technique and she plays with a nice crisp sound, but (for me) it lacks authenticity.

@danielapirate - I guess it boils down to the artistic impression and the talent of the artist. I'm certainly not familiar with the reasoning behind the writing of many pieces of music. But Ms. Vidovic is quite talented and plays the piece well. And for that, she gets a thumbs up.

I wouldn't know. Although, the first movement of this piece, preludio saudade, wasn't actually written by Barrios, so many players don't even play it - like Narciso Yepes, for example.

So, it makes it a really selective approach among players, I guess.

I always play it (from the beginning), since I think it's as great as the second and third movement.

@oknarbtal With respect, the first movement (Saudade) was written by Barrios in 1938 and dedicated to his wife Gloria. It was then added to the other two movements (the Andante Religioso and Allegro Solemne were both written around 1914) to complete the three movement work. It is true that many performers choose not to include the Saudade and there are many conflicting manuscripts over the details of the music for all the movements (especially the Allegro Solemne).
