  • I keep forgetting how completely awesome this soundtrack is.

  • Well this dude really masters both orchestral (Radiant Silvergun, Vagrant Story, FFT...) and techno VGM.

  • There is no denying that this game is created by Treasure. It looks, plays and sounds like a Treasure game. And its unfortunately one of the last of the great shmups. Its awesome to hear Hitoshi Sakimoto do his thing.. I actually bought this game upon hearing that Treasure and Sakimoto teamed up for it... Without even seeing it..

  • the first time i played Gradius V ....i said Omg Old school shmps games still alive!!!!

  • @jeabl and we hope the same in the future ^^

  • @aliultimate009 i dont play games of this generation, as ps3, xbox360 or wii....but looks like shmups are missing in this generation :(

games like gradius V or Radiant Silvergun, with a main history, would be gr8

  • @jeabl i couldn't agree more XD

    yes exactly ^^

  • このプチプチ感は並みのコンポーザには出せないだろう。だがグラV全体で言えば、本作は駄作だ。

  • Ear-rape :D

  • @AVSbeats what do you mean ?

  • @aliultimate009 Freaking-awesome Music to my ear lol

  • @AVSbeats

Is Orgasmic not ear-rape. Ear-rape meaning like screaming and saying the same words over and over again.

  • @Angsc09 ah i see ^^

    i got ya ^^

  • @Angsc09 owned...lol i didn't know that :P

  • @aliultimate009 That means the video is very loud it makes your ears hurt.

Thats the definition of ear-rape.(a rather funny name though)

  • I have to say, that this is my...second favorite track on GV. Starting up hearing the warning alarm and evacuation commads, added to the beginning of this track, got me all sorts of pumped up. And yes, I FINALLY FOUND GRADIUS V!!! :3

  • @akonobo same here & congratulations on finding it ^^

  • While listening to the music do not forget one very important thing.....SHOT!

  • When i played this game i was so blown off my chair and the grapics make this game epic. and then i herd the music and it was like ...... Fucking Awesome!!!!!!!........

  • "This is Vic Viper T301! Commencing attack on the enemy!"

  • i thought he was saying ( commencing attack on yen ) XD !!!

  • Emergency! Emergency! This station and planet Gradius are under attack by the Bacterians. All personnalities evacuate immediately. All crafts go to your battle stations and commence extermination.

  • i was hoping for someone to tell me exactly what was told on the start of the game XD

    thank you very much ^^

as i was trying to figure out it's words the only things that i get are ( Emergency! Emergency! This station and ( i wasn't sure if he said planet ) planet Gradius are under attack by the Bacterians. All personnalities evacuate immediately .

  • from the start to the word ( stations ) is the only word i got then nothing understandable until ( extermination ) but wait ... didn't he said MAX Extermination ? or commence extermination ? ... and wait ... another thing ... i think he said ( all personal evacuate immediately , but you said personnalities ... because i don't think he said it in that way as i strongly remember ...

  • @Ghostsimon21 And dont forget to bring some Purell!!

  • @Ghostsimon21 The beginning part sounds better with the announcer. But then again, a lot of game music sounds better when you're playing the game.

  • do you wish to get this OST with an announcer ?

i'm thinking about trying it and may be able to do it but it needs a very huge focus ^_^

  • @aliultimate009 Nah it's ok. I don't want to put more work in your time.

  • if you said this i must listen to you ^^

    thanks ^^

  • @Ghostsimon21 This is Vic Viper, Team 301. Commencing attack on the enemy.

  • @sarttan T-301 not Team 301

  • Wow! Definitely on par with Radiant Silvergun!

  • Absolutely amazing

  • same here ^^

  • It's always hilarious blowing the sh*t out of the Zelos and hearing them scream like, "Vaaaa!"

  • same here XD

actually they scream ( MOUAAHHH ) XD

  • I know, but when you hear it, it sounds like some dude fell on his roller blades or something, LOL!

  • i don't know on how does it looks like that ?_?

  • Okay, how about some guy that fell on his skis?

  • that's more confusing XD

  • Then what do you think the scream sounds like to you?

  • an evil scream from getting killed like in the japanese animations ...

  • Okay.

  • 1:12 = epic

  • for me all of the OST is awesome ^^

  • OK...I know I haven't post the vid I said I want to(firstly coz its almost impossible even on stage 1) but I need some more advise...my RAM is 4GB but the cam is still slow as you had seen on my last vid...I've also closed every program other than the cam and emulator of course...

    Please help!... =(

  • since your pc's RAM is 4GB it should be very powerful O_o

hey wait now i see what's the problem XD

depending on the game Graphics it may make the recorder slow or good ^_^

so in order to do that you must make the screen very small but not small enough for you for not to watch XD

i've did that lately and it worked when i was thinking of making some new videos for other shmups ^O^

  • Thanks...I'll bear that in mind...-_o

  • you're welcome ^_^

  • oh the memories.... the first time i played gradius V... and was like: OMG THIS GAME IS SO FUCKIN AWESOME!

  • endlessly yes XD

  • @somahiru I got mines coming in the mail this week!!!

  • Hah...after my 'daddy cool' finally allows me to play my PS 2...I play Gradius V all the time...(thats coz i loose my memory card)[seriously]

hah...good memories...coz this is the music that I always get to listen after Game Over...

Anyway...mind if I ask you something?

I wanted to record Gradius 3 SNES on my emulator...but when i record it...it became slow...

Can I get some advice from you?...or anyone?

Oh yeah...I'm asking you coz you always give a quick reply then any others...

    Tnx!!!

  • and since i'm online i'll always try to reply fast XD

your pc should be at least 1 Giga bite in ram and also when you play Gradius 3 SNES on emulator the screen should be small so your pc can handle it on recording it with less size and faster response ^_^

if it didn't work then you'll have to close all opened programs and keep only the recording device opened or the sound recording opened to make sure your work will process smoothly ^O^

  • Thank you Ali!...

I'm very happy to get a reply FAST!!!

Im gonna post my run on gradius 3 SNES loop 5(finally!)!...I'll inform you when I uploaded it...

    Thank you Vic Viper T-301!

  • Vic Viper : my pleasure XD

    Zero : Got it ^O^

  • OK...my First ever uploaded vid is now complete...

    Check it out sometime

Gradius III SNES stage 7 loop 5 normal mode

Also...I'll be a better pilot next time and NOT play at 3 a.m...

  • please share it to me to watch it ^O^

Vic Viper : you should XD because you can't pilot me every time since i need some rest XD

  • lol...Ok Ali...I'll see what I can do...

    Anyway...Sorry Vic Viper!... X3

  • Zero : ok ^_^

Vic Viper : don't worry XD

  • some reason i get pump at 1 05 to 1 18

1st stage music is one of my fav, also 2, 3 and 4 and stage 7 too

  • because it reminds you of stage boss music battle at the end of this ost in the same way ^O^

it also makes me thinking the same at that part of the ost ^_^

HITOSHI SAKIMOTO IS GENIUS !!! ^O^

well about me i love all Gradius V stages ost's ^_^

  • One of the best 1st stage music of a game!

  • yes it is for a starting music ^_^

as it was also known as escape ( from planet Gradius ) ^_^

  • anyway, thanks for the music

  • your welcome anytime ^_^

  • yeah, metoo XD XP

  • LOL

  • rejuajuajajajaajaja!!! XP muaythai loves you!? hohojaja!!

  • LOL tehhh i don't get what's the point of that XD

  • One of the best BGMs to come out of a shmup.

This easily trumps Ikaruga or Radiant Silvergun's music.

  • really ? O_O so it is awesome more than i thought XD thanks for the info ^O^

  • Yes, the "next-gen" Gradius at the time deserved a "next-gen" soundtrack, so Sakimoto, as usual, delivers.

It's also worth it to point out that Hitoshi Sakimoto can do more than just orchestral music, this was a great foray into the "Trance/Techno" genre for him.

  • yes he is ^_^

  • i love u

  • huh ? O_o ? XD i just did my job nothing else .. the real thankful guy must be hitoshi sakimoto not me ^_^

  • Actually, from what I've read, Sakimoto started out doing electronica before he stepped into his well-known orchestral style. This is a return for him. It's nice to hear as well - as much as I love his FFT, VS, and RSG soundtracks, it's great to hear a different style from him.

  • the more experienced the artiest gets the more he composes a lot better osts if he kept his best known style in just giving it a new shape ^_^

  • It's also a return for Treasure and Gradius, seeing as the company was formed of ex-Konami employees who worked on the Gradius and Gradius II.

  • i didn't know that the old Gradius team members is still working with the new Gradius team members XD

man that's awesome that they're still counting on they're old friends on making this crazy game XD

i hope they're old friends will work in Gradius 6 and push the hell out of it to it's limits and beyond ^O^

  • that's my favorite song of the game

  • Glade you liked it ^_^

  • This sounds excellent. It's just too cool.

    5/5

  • thanks ^_^
