  • Thanks. Very helpful!!!

    iphone=dumb blonde

    n95=fat ugly scientist.

  • Ive had an iphone for so long.. and all I have to say is the battery life is a joke.. Thats why I ordered a nice, Nokia N95 8GB yesterday.. I can't wait for it to come!

  • What is the music at beginning?

  • 2 different phones, n95 better at being a phone, gaming console and camera. Iphone better screen size and internet browsing. N95 8 gig has best of both and is the absolute winner.

  • Comment removed

  • Nokia is from Finland. Finland rules!!!!!!!

  • nokia n95 is much better then iphone

  • i owned an iphone and hated it. bought a n95 8gb a few weeks ago and its the best phone i ever used. Great camera, video recorder, sat nav, music player. i use opera mini on it for internet and its fantastic. top phone!!!

  • I LOVE the N95 and N96 but they are so darn expensive. :X What would I know though, I have a Z8 =D

  • actually i'm a mega geek...and I love both my n95 8GB and my iphone 3g. I Use my iphone often, but whenever I want to take photos or videos I pack my n95. symbian unfortunately can't really compare to the software selection of the app store or the usability of mac os x mobile. (other than the turn by turn direction apps, tethering apps, etc.)

  • n958gb is a one of best selfphone in world but iphone is a good phone also but no match for n958gb. n95best

  • better phones are iphone , blackberry , moto q9h nokia is not on the list!!

  • on what list exactly? You idiot according to the majority of reviews N95 8GB is better than iPhone...idiot

  • N95 = Geeks phone, Iphone = Posers phone, Iphone is so much sexier but the N95 is so much more powerful.

  • I think both phones are sexy, N95 8gb just has more capabilities.

  • N95 8GB wins. It's a micro-computer. The iPhone is smart-bling.

  • One thing that nobody talks about with the Iphone is the sound quality, that is one of the things that turned me off, Low ringer volume, and poor speaker phone. This includes the Iphone 3g.

  • i like buttons so i can easily change track in my pocket by feel iphone has to be taken out unlocked then touch n95 just slide music keys open and click. they say iphones browser is the best but its nt fullscreen and its slow i have both phones and my n95 has opera mobile wich kills iphones browser

  • I think the input speed is not an issue. who cares about who gets to finish typing first if you can get the job done anyways in micro second delays. iphone is good to people who has a hardtime using keypads and doesnt care about anything else except ease of use. n95 is for people who wants more from the gadget like better videos, pictures, mms, a lot of software choices and who doesnt want to be tied to one store. like windows vs mac. i prefer the n95 it gives me a lot more.

  • what should i get i like music ,my pics n vids, internet, email, games and other apps they both reli do the same whats best for me lol ??

  • I have the n95 8gb, and personally I think it is an UGLY, UGLY sack of crap. seriously. its hideous. its fat, clunky, its silver buttons look like a DAMN toy. what is wrong with RETARD manufacturers being unable to make something that looks good? the iphone looks *WAYYYY* better than the n95, and I would suspect, has a WAY better interface. n95 8gb has features, but what's the point when its an ugly POS, with a TERRIBLE interface?

  • ok just stare at your beautiful iphone while the rest of us who use n95 get better phone signal and can do more than your good looking limited iphone. just touch touch and play games...is that actually a phone ok its just an added bonus... that what the name says. it looks like an ipod though...

  • n95 8gb-5mp camera with carl zias auto focus

iphone- 2mp with no auto focus.

u could take dvd like videos with almost unlemited recording time with n95. u cant do that with iphone.

u could sent pics songs files with the n95 bluetooth, u couldnt do that with iphone.

  • You dont have a n95 8gb... "silver buttons?" you phail

  • n95 of course!!!!

-iphone doesnt film videos(n95 film with dvd quality).

-iphone camera is 2mpixel without flash(the n95 have a 5 mpix camera with flash.)

-the n95 have huge stereo 3d speakers that sound amazing!

-you cant remove the battery of the iphone

-the n95 is so much more resistant.

-apple like to change their products even 2 timer per year, so by example if you bought your iphone 3g, not get surprised if you see the "iphone 3g wimax edition with 32gb" at 2009.

    -the nokia´s quality.

  • on top of that iphone can't do email attachments, no flash support on the internet, no navigation software allowed, weak phone signal, tons of time wasting crappy apps from the apple store.

  • i would not support apple if they were the last company on earth they rip people off big time everytime i see there apple symbol it just reminds me how greedy they are they should be destroyed for there shear piggery!

  • wich is better t-mobile sidekick or n95 i cant deside they have both have really cool functions pleaze anwser me !

  • Music Is A Round That The Iphone Is Far Inferior To The N95 8gb.

It's Hard To Explain, You Got To Hear It To Believe It.

  • i got the N95 8gb it 100% better then my brothers 3g ipone :D

  • The N95 is better.

  • N95 rules! Third party applications are easy to run in N95 and easy to repair. while iphone, yes its new and what? txt messaging sucks here..too sensitive, third party unfriendly and damn hard for repair.

  • why everybody compare n95 8 gb whit iphone ??

  • because to dumb people, iphone is god...

to us smarter people, n95 is the best..

  • Nokia n95 is still the best for me...

  • I've never cared to invest in an expensive cellphone, but the n95 8gb is just so many things in one that I can't argue against its bargain. A very decent camera- both video and still; an excellent lecture/voice recorder, an mp3/mp4/divx player that i can easily hook in to my car stereo. Pdf, word, powerpoint compatibility. The inbuilt speakers aren't quite shabby either. I'm set for the next 3 years at least.

  • nah i prefer the iphone by far, and i'll tell you why

you can jailbreak it, and install more apps thn the n95 could ever dream of

plus it looks cool and i like touch screen phones

  • Eh? I've got both and there are FAR more S60 apps than there are iPhone apps in the AppStore. Admittedly the situation's fast equalising, but don't pull the third party app card here - it's simply not relevant. EASE of access to the apps IS, though, but that's a whole separate argument...

  • what fo free? because you can simply jailbreak your iphone and get 100's of apps for free

the third aps card is the only reason i'm gettin the iphone

  • Yes, there are over 100 freeware apps for S60, plus another 1000 or so commercial apps. Some of VERY high quality. Early days, but I've only seen about 10 quality apps for the iPhone so far.

  • so how do you get them on the n95?

what do yu men s60 apps?

  • Yes, there are hundreds of outlets for S60 apps on the web, plus the on-device one in Download! Plus Nokia's own download areas etc

  • so, do you think i should get that instead of an iphone

whats about the new samsung tocco?

  • but we're talking about the out of the store phones not jailbroken or haxd

  • lol i know nokia and sony erickson had the touchscreen technology way before apple used this technology. tsk tsk tsk

  • im with you but only for multitouch and media. everything else kinda sucks. so in ways just take the nokia

  • nokia's n96 is gunna destroy the iphone with its 3.5G and 128mbRAM... uppdated maps etc the file types will be like infinate

  • i just ordered my N95 8gb today...my dad has the iphone already but he is upgrading to the 3G version on july 11th...im sure my N95 will eat it for lunch. :)

  • thanks helping me choose, i going for the n95 8gig seems way beta

  • Geez this guy really shows up the Nitwits on CNET. CNET reviews are a waste of time!

  • n95 is lightyears ahead of the iphone and this isnt a fair test because the guy typing on the n95 is so slow!n95 forever!

  • just about to leave the exact same comment. N95 rules!!!

  • :) lol

    i like fellow n95 lovers :)

  • ily lol jkjk cant wait for Nokia N96(the beast)

  • Lol I like fellow fellow N95 lovers :) (Thumbs up for you)

  • the speed of the key pad dosent matter, u twit, i can type way faster than that twat with the n95,

i opoligise for calling you a twit, and him a twat.... but it sounds good to have those words included in a comment !!!:)

  • A question here..

Can the N95 8GB surf "normal" web using Wifi or 3.5G, as in, the non-mobile version of any websites?

Would love to get an N95 8GB.

  • Yep. Same as on iPhone etc.

  • COOL.. Getting one soon.. Thanks for the reply.

Normal web browsing is a must-must for me here in singapore. Think it will be cool to surf web on the go with the free island-wide broadband.

BTW, IMHO, N95 8GB is better as many third party apps can be installed. iPhone is cool, but.. your pretty much stuck with the factory features, with not much to change.

  • The US version of the N95 is 3.5g compatible, and it can use wifi. If I remember right, I think you can use Opera browsers with the Symbian OS

  • Can the iphone be operated with one hand? It doesn't seem so from the demo. This would be a major disadvantage for me.

  • It can very easily.

I can use it really easily with one hand.

It may be difficult if you have tiny circus clown hands?

  • I personally prefer the N95. I've played around with an iphone, and I do prefer the qwerty style keyboard once you get used to it, but the lack of video capture and the £269 price tag, with an expensive low-minutes contract, is what put me off. I got my N95 8GB just over a week ago now, and I'm loving it! :D

  • i own n95 best phone

  • WOW .. am unbiased review on the N95 v iphone obsession! I have just bought the N95 .. why Because I get a great camera as well as a phone .. and I am not fooled by looks!

  • the music and acid titles at the beginning made me give this 5 stars after about four seconds. But I bought the Nokia today so that's why I'm here really.

  • my opinion is iphone cause its more simple and easier to use

  • iPhone is the best hands down.

  • LOL =)) i lol'd

  • ain't worth for the price.......go iphone

  • Eh? I appreciate the opinion. But on price, the iPhone ends up costing about £1000 !

  • your right

    buying the iphone costs: £250

giving shop keeper extra: £750(for selling the phone in the first place)

    total amount: £1000

  • Eh? No, the rest is all the money you'll spend on the 18 month contract.

  • well... i donno but i would prefer an iphone anyways.. i just like the interface.. so easy to use.. don't like the bottons on phones so inconvenient.. thanks

  • Yeah. Buttons. So inconvenient. That's why people never, ever buy phones with buttons on...

    8-x

  • you know how can i download my n95 into a rotateME just like the iphone? thanx a lot.

  • hello steve, ive just decided upon the n95 8gb (getting her tomorrow, cant wait!)... BUT can you tell me if it is any better than the highly anticipated LG viewty? i have heard it is supposed to be better than the iphone. although i prefer the nokia over the , i consider, over hyped iphone i would like to know where the viewty comes in this review. many thanks

  • The Viewty is just a feature phone, bit like the iPhone, very limited in how it can be expanded. And not as elegant as the iPhone, though it does have a GREAT camera, allegedly. I'm hoping to get one to try next month.

  • Great video

  • Hi i want the N95 8gb and i was just wondering is the internet faster on the iphone or the n95 8gb, also can you go on msn and view full webpages on n95?

  • Yes, 10x faster on the n95 8GB (at HSDPA speeds) compared to EDGE on the iPhone. And yes, you can see full pages - the N95 has the same web browser engine as the iPhone.

  • I need to know how to get the light saber sound to work on the N 95...seriouly if i can get that I will take the N95 over the iphone any day...does anyone know where I can get this

  • Google for the Light Saber app and accelerometer plug-in!

  • Awesome review...

  • hey man loved ur interviews n caz of the inspirational videos i bougt n N95 8gb can u give a detail review of all its functions via a video i would be thankful

  • More N95 8GB coverage is coming!

  • ok, I have a question. Im choosing between a w960i and a n95 8gb. what do you prefer? Like, does the n95 have touchscreen? and can they both go to youtube? and does w960i come with a bluetooth headset?

  • So many Qs! I prefer N95 8GB. No. No/Yes (YTPlayer). No. Please use Google, like everyone else 8-)

  • LOLOL, sorry about that. But thankyou, this really helped. and keep up the good work with the show :]

  • That was definitly one of the most professional and informative comparisons I've seen thus far.

  • Hi Steve thanks for your great reviews they have been very helpful and are extremely well presented.

  • come on, hands down the N95 8GB wins in both convergence and applications... thus winning over all.

  • Well, it all depends where you're coming from. If we're talking a novice, the iPhone's going to seem like it does more, even though it really doesn't - and it'll be a lot easier to use etc 8-)

  • love you video reviews

  • little question... wich cellphone do you consider as the most efficent and complete of all??

  • All depends on the form factor you're prepared to accept. Nokia E90 is the outright most complete, but then it's a metal monster 8-)

  • nokia N95 8Gb...it's the best !

  • Hi, I hear some room resonance while you speak, which makes it a bit harder for non native English speakers to catch your words. You could use some clip-on mic, or choose a room with better acustics or some audio filter while editing your video. Cheers.

  • the N95 8GB is definately better. I bought mine last week and sold my 8gb iphone to a friend. The N95 8gb is flawless.. its absolutely powerful... its a mini laptop.. packed with features!!! I'll put up my review of it shortly.

  • Great Show. Verry balanced view of the N95 8GB and iPhone. I just want to mention that there are quite a vew exelent games for the iPhone now (after some hacking involved) Not to mention the hundreds 3rd parti apps that the comunity has developed. BTW after a bit of practice, writing on iPhone is much faster with 2 thumbs.

  • Hacking? Err... yes. Not exactly legal or approved though, and they'll all be broken the next time Apple tweaks the OS through iTunes!

  • they will release official 3rd party apps this February, so 3rd party apps will not be a problem.

  • Yep, that's the hope anyway!!

  • Excellent, I totally agree with your closing comments, they really are quite different devices in many areas.

  • I found the iPhone accelerometers were very annoying, and not being able to search through your music library by typing on some sort of keypad, a la SkyeQuiKey. The two-handedness of the device (I know it can be used one handed, but this makes it even more cumbersome and painful on the tendons) also is a no go.

  • tnx for the upload! this vid helped me alot in doing my presentation about smartphone

  • good job :-) (although i wish you could replace the awfully distorted and retro-style looking intro/outro with a better and more pleasing one.. ;-)
