I am also a gay latino going to school at a catholic university. I can sympathize with one's struggle to come out of the closet under such circumstances. There are definitely those who disagree with my lifestyle but I can only live my life the way I know best...and that is by being myself regardless of how others feel about me.

It's not only the pressures of religious and political opressions that silents many LGBT people. Sadly, it is also machismo that opresses LGBT people to silence, particularly in the Latino community.
