  • So much fail in these comments. Jesus, people. Pull your heads out of your asses.

  • @CarGuy087 oh wow haha my bad

    haterade....

  • i have an 07 and i love it i think it looks better than the one on the screen thats alike an o5 or something anyway why green and the graphics are nasty just silver with gold rims or black steer clear of the green thats gross. other than that nice fxt

and the internals are the same as a wrx and its a 3g turbo stock but the trans is geared lowere so forester vs wrx stock for stock forester would win. trust me been there done that.

  • Nope your actually wrong, its not called an STI... its a 2.5 XT and its the exact same engine as an STI. Thats why I love these cars lol, people even think that they're heavier than the sti. They only weigh about 145 lbs more than an sti. I'd take a forester over and STI ANYDAY

  • Even the internals are the same as the STI? What about turbo size with the manual 2.5XT turbo compared to the STI?

  • Turbo isn't an internal component. The turbo is smaller on the forester but... not the 2009.

  • I know it's not an internal component, it's bolted to the exhaust manifold. The turbo question was the 2nd part of my question, because obviously the turbo size dictates possible airflow and subsequently horsepower and torque production.

Turbo size, what about engine internals such as crank, rods, pistons, heads, valves, cams, ect...? same or different?

  • 2nd "turbo size" = 'turbo size aside"

  • Ok I understand your question now I read it wrong. On the 2009 everything is exactly the same. Right down to the T, for this year I'm sure the internals are slightly different but nothing huge. Its basically the same damn car except the sti is obviously a 2.0 and the XTs are 2.5s. Internal wise I hear there is hardly a difference.

  • @Kalidred the XT is not heavier than the STI. it is actually lighter. on the STI the tranny alone weighs 100lbs more.

  • Fkn sweet, was that 1st and then 3rd gear? sounds like tho ... SG9 FTFW!!

Subaru haters are GMC pick up truck owners = gardeners or other doutche that came from the US border.

  • Really? Because I own two GM trucks (which have ben flawless for the last 16 years) as well as an STi converted '05 Forester XT. Throw something else into the mix... I'm an aeronautical engineer, not a gardener. Generalizations are just that... generalizations.

Sweet video, none the less. :D

  • God do people really belive it was a swap lol?

  • Dang, dude! I've never heard a Subaru sound like that! Not sure wassup wit da negative SG9 comments, because I never heard, read, nor saw anything claiming it was an SG9. I am NOT familiar with Subarus, but I would never dis yours. I not only SOUNDS SWEET, but looks awesome! And anything with a DELTA CAM in it must be radical (oh, no fair, I'm a grinder there!). Sweet ride, my friend. I was just waiting for you to slam second gear!

  • 04-05 Forester XT is an STI engine in the Forester body. Almost any power/suspension/brakes/steering upgrade made for an STI fits it perfectly or with minor mods. As a matter of fact there are plenty of modded turbo Foresters on the streets, most of them keep stealth profile for various reasons though :) I had a priviledge of owning one - moderately modded, check my profile for a couple of vids.

  • just because a 2.5 liter was put in to the forester doesnt mean that its the same motor as in a STi. thier are other factors internaly that make the STi motor different. and im not just talking turbo and intercooler sizes.

  • same engine as wrx u mean, difference between wrx and sti engines. this forester is not an sti.

  • This Forester is not an STI, I know, I actually owned one of those. But 04/05 models (which we have on this video) had the same exact engine as 04/05 USDM Impreza STI . Again, I know, because I had to change the shortblock on my FXT, so I researched and ended up buying one from a Subaru dealership. The parts numbers were the same. Now, 06+ Forester XTs had WRX engines of the same years, not STIs.

  • im considering buying an 06 forester xte thats why i watched this video. I used to own a impreza jdm wrx sti type r, forester xt 2.5turbo is good vaue over here. Any bad points to the forester u can say?

  • Yes, but in the UK and Japan a Forester STI is available.

  • A sick lowered Subaru Baja would be way nice for that swap.

  • fuckin sweet, i've never seen a forester that hauls like that, good job.

  • oh really? You tell me what makes that an SG9...

Before you answer, keep in mind that i own one.

  • nice lil street ride. I'm jealous

  • joke ... ok i like it...

  • Is that a SG9 ? i Dont think so... its slow !

  • Of course its a SG9 are you blind?????
