  • considering it was filmed in such a short time, it was pretty good...i actually enjoyed it

  • hey would you like me to take your video and add some effects :)

i am practacing my effects i do not have sounds though

  • I thought the choreography was pretty good. It would have been cool to have sfx in it, but the title says, Lightsaber Choreography not saber fx. I'm working on my choreography in my saber fights so they'll be more exciting. Check out my fx test on my channel when you get a chance. Keep up the good work. ;-)

  • not good music choice

  • @clubhenco See if you like our newest saber fight "RIVALS"

  • wtf is this lol where are the effects of lightsabers, force powers...etc...? lol gay

  • @Xzigy You might like our newest video "RIVALS" then.

  • @whiteley79 gonna watch it.

  • Wow, pretty nice for only one night in the works. o: Great job!

Hah, I did laugh when he said, "Excellent. This is where the fun begins!" You don't get classic Villain-esque lines like that anymore!

    Once again, fantastic job!

  • where effects?

  • If it were a serious fight, it would be over in a few moves. But it's not, as lightsaber combat isn't in anyway real. And if you think that being a bigger guy is in anyway a disadvantage in actual sword combat, you are sorely mistaken.

  • @whiteley79 you also hae to tae in account that techniquely jedi and sith use "the force" to predict the others moves, and its when one slips up is whe the fight is over

  • tbh to win a fight like this if was a serious sword fight you would just have to be patient and out last Darth Chubbs.

  • First: I am not judging this based off special effects.

Music was a tad bit off for me. It did not grip me, but made me wanna start dancing (which is not a pretty sight). The fighting itself was very... Hollywood, only because there were several instances where death was as easy as a slight twist of the wrist, but instead, you had to make this OVERTHETOP swing that lead to the life of the opponent. Other than those few things, I loved it. Good acting, GREAT story, and worth watching. 3.5/5

  • Nice choreography, really, but...

..it's just a choreography. Don't take me wrong, but there's nothing of real fight. A bit skilled swordsman can win this duel insome few seconds, but I think, that if somebody don(t know anything about swordfight, it must look amaizing

  • You're a blithering idiot you really are. Obviously the the whole premise of lightsaber battles aren't real fights. Ryan and Dorkman even said it themselves. It's not supposed to be real because the circumstances of the fight aren't realistic.

  • Maybe Ryan and Dorkman said that, but lightsaber duels in original saga was made to be realistic.(in the way of fighting.) And in this video are too many moves, that must end with death of one of fighters...so...

And actually, why I am an idiot? I'm just somebody, who knows anythink abou fighting with sword or sabre or what you want. And I¨m just telling, that some moves are wrong.

  • pretty neat what did you guys use as blades?

  • Would have been good had they gotten time to finish it. This looks like a production draft (Which it would be mind you, and probably is) but I like this idea, just a damn shame they didn't get time to add effects and the like, as well as fix their sound in general. (Lighting was also horrible, but I commend them on trying to shoot out there.)

  • It being made for a Choreography contest, the lighting, fx, and other aspects of the production were not judged upon, thus not focused on. In hindsight I wish I would have, though.

  • wow guys!! that was awesome!!

  • i like how it actually has a plot

  • Fantastic job! I can't wait to see another one!

  • That - was - great!!!

all in the same night huh?

I like the way the not-fat guy acted like a jedi. :)

  • on a scale of one to ten and one being a little kid with a lightsaber toy and ten being RVD i give u a 11 so much better than RVD and some lightsaber fights in real starwars

  • that was good

  • VERY nice choreography... you kinda seem to emphasize "form 0" a little too much though. And there are several parts where a wide opening is not taken advantage of.

  • Thanks for the nice comment. I'm curious as the where the wide openings you see are, as we very adamant about them. Can you please point them out.

Also, I'm confused with your "form 0" comment. Given the fact no such 'forms' of saber combat exist outside of the EU, how could we have restricted ourselves to one?

  • Form 0 would be the very basic form taught to younglings. I don't know what he means by it too.

I believe the fat guy uses Form V while the other guy used Form II. is that correct?

  • No. I find that limiting ones self to made up forms only limits your choices in choreography itself. The forms are great for books and RPGs, but not for choreographed duels.

  • Form 0 is the form of trying to avoid combat, that's just what it is just to let you know.

  • I know what it is, but I would hesitate in calling it a 'form' rather then a 'principle'.

  • One of the better choreographed lightsaber sequences I have seen...nice moves overall. Would be intense with the rotoscope effects!

  • "Filmed and choreographed on the same night"? I don't think so. Well done!!!

  • Very Cool Lightsaber Fight.

  • Awesome fight!

  • I'd say it's pretty good, even without the special effects. The choreography is really good. I'd say it looks more like it had a lot of previous choreography work to it. The only thing I think could make it better was Lightsaber Effects

  • If by previous choreography you mean have we done moves like this before, then yes. But we didnt have them sequenced, nor suited for the location. But yes, individually, we have done some of the moves.

  • actually, i did mean sequenced previously... i do believe that you did this in one day, im just saying it looks like it had been sequenced over a longer period of time... it looks really good

  • All in one night? Didn't look like it!

  • how u didn;t add the special effects?

  • I would imagine because it's a last-minute entry into a choreography contest. For choreography, effects are not essential. And it takes a lot of long, hard work to rotoscope good lightsabre blades.

  • great stuff i just got questions: what are the props used for the sabers? also where can i find one of the props or at least the materials to make them?

  • When making this we used simple dowel rods you can find at any local hardware store. For the hilts we just wraped them in electrical tape. At different intervals we used more tape to give it a lightsaber like texture. then we simply wrapped certain parts in metallic foil tape found in the paint section of the same hardware story. The results are quite nice and are very cheap.

For our next LCC contest we will be using carbon fiber rods that were used in ep3 and such videos as the rvd series.

  • I think this decently choreographed and I like that there was something of a story there. It had its moments but all in all it was a solid 4 outta 5. Good job.

  • 1:58 "This is pathetic..."

  • As in you didnt like it, or you like the line? C'mon man, if its supposed to be insulting, give some useful feedback.

  • very good all around, except, i think lightsaber fx would have enhanced this a bit, and a little too much twirling for me. However, I like the tossing the lightsaber up in the air, reminisent, of RVD 1 & 2

  • verygood choroeography and very good dialogue, heck this is one of the few lightsaber vids that doesn't need effects

  • that was way too good to have less than 1,000,000 views. top notch. edit it as quick as possible! try to get better audio for the voices. Better than RvD when it comes to choreogrophy

  • for once i completely agree with my colleague i like this more than i like the ryan vs dorkman series. choreography was amazing, storyline was atuaclly pretty impressive, ending was adequate. edit this completely and i think you might just have one of the best lightsaber duels on the internet.

    5/5 my friend

  • Thanks for your kind words. While I may go back one day and add the effects in, We are currently working on our next LCC entry video. While it has a similar theme of a man reformed, we're doing our best to take it to a new level. Also, while the choreo in this is at points, sucessful, you got to remember we planned and filmed it all in the same night. I'm also very dissapointed with the camerawork. But still, check back in a few months for the next one!

  • i only noticed one part where the choreography was a little off particular emphasis on the word little; one guy was walking at the very end of one shot and at the beginning of the very next shot he was standing perfectly still. whoa one night, dude that is impressive how long exactly do you think it took anyways your welcome for the kind words don't beat yourself up too much i do that too work hours on a movie and then think it could have been better.

  • Well, my fight partner and I found the location and started to do some choreography. We choreographed everything up until I jump up into the dirt. It took about an hour, and then our camera man arrived. So then we shot everything until that point where we stopped planning the fight, and from then on, just made everything up right before we shot each take.

  • niceley done

unlike other movies the dialog was very well done

the ending was my faveorite part, he alows him to live, never done before in LCC.

    this is my favorite movie

    5\5

  • I Loved Both the Choreography and aslo the Dialogue. It was an awesome Film

  • Thanks. Be sure to keep an eye out at theforce(dot)net

The next LCC is underway! And yes, we're back in it.

  • could you send me this video through email so i could do some effects and sound and then send it right back ,if your not sure check out my videos!

  • very well done, especially for doing it a day before the competition! i was impressed. it's better than most of what i've seen on the internet. fast creative choreography. i liked that rvd2 ending move you threw in there in the middle, nice touch.

  • Yeah, we got the idea from RVD2. At first we just wanted to see how difficult it was to pull off, then when we realized it wasnt hard at all, we went and did it twice, one after the other. Ryan actually gave us props for using and improving the move. He was one of the judges.

  • Where are these competions held My friends and I thought we could give u a run for ur money love the vid aswell I thought the story was great and didn't need special effects!

  • They are held at the fan film forums at theforce dot net.

  • i liked the choreography very fast paced. you guys hit each other by accident ever?

  • Not anymore. We've fought together on the last 4 videos i've done. In the begining we got alot of fingers smashed, but now we can read each other to know when the other has messed up before we hit.

  • the choreography was prety good but the kicking and force stuff wasnt exactly great. u should post 1 with the effects and make it a video response 2 this 1.

  • Sadly we didnt have any time to prep the proper shots for our force effects. Thanks for the comment, though.

  • you guys need to have the lightsaber sound effects and have the actual lightsabers.

  • Well, we choreographed and filmed the entry 1 day before the due date. We simply didnt have the time to put in the effects. luckily we entered in a choreography contest, and the effects were'nt required. What did you think of the choreo?
