  • Bruce is a cool dude. Got to meet him back in the day when I was in college as a guitar major.

  • I hate that damned spotlight which didn't put Bruce work on light ! He deserve much more attention, he shouldn't to stay in the shadow !

  • Cred to Bruce for playing Scarified on a Les Paul style guitar!

  • I was at this show. I'm sure the head in the way is mine xD

  • @slickity90 I was in the last row before the railing, on the right side of the middle Isle.

  • damn it I want to see them live sooo bad

  • wonderful

  • OMG!!!

  • Ibanez Rocket Roll II

  • the awesomeness of these harmonies is really something you have to experience first hand. The same with Technical difficulties.

  • My fav Racer X tune!

  • Cool guitar, great guitarist

  • he looks like a monkey

  • yeah a monkey who can shred at 240 and whip the asses of all homo sapiens

  • Recording stops when solo starts?! FAIL!

  • Great ,but you should hear the drummer from early racer x his feel is better than the drummers that Paul plays with now..... even though Paul's drummers now at the present are great

  • The one from Street Lethal or Scott Travis? I like Travis.

  • Scott Travis awesome.

After he left RX he went to record Painkiller with JP and has been withe them since

  • Travis still played with RacerX on most all their releases even as he played with Priest....

  • RX broke up, and he left for Priest.

Whe both RX and Priest reformed, he played with both.

    I'm talking late 80s, not early 2000s

  • what type of guitar is Paul playing. I've seen Buckethead play the same exact one and it sounds great.

  • Ibanez Rocket Roll II

  • its a flying V Ibanez

  • Pauls guitar in this video is, like PerpetualxBurn said, an Ibanez. The one Buckethead used is a Jackson though.

  • no bucket has this ibanez as well.

  • bucketheads V is a jackson from the custom shop, actually.

  • MParsefeace38, it is known he has the 2 custom jacksons. i am not referring to those. He has this ibanez V as well. Get ur facts straight.

  • you're right, just looked it up. but he barely uses it, does he?

  • indeed buckethead's was/is a jackson..which incidentally also has a killswitch button on it similar to the scott ian model (anthrax)..you can see him play in on the bonnaroo dvd from '03 or '04

  • Buckethead also got that guitar... look at some older vids of him... and I don't mean one of his jackson V's

  • Whenever i see paul gilbert playing this song it makes me sooooooo depressed, but i simply cant stop watching his miracle fretwork hah

  • I feel sorry for Bruce the spot light is on paul, but there both playing the same thing in harmony.

  • i really dont know why...bit this clip makes me feel like i am there....me being the one recording this clip..

  • you didnt include the solos. where are the solos?

  • LOL The whole thing is pretty much a solo. I wanted to leave some space on my card for the numerous pictures I took. Plus the security was rather tight and standing at an isle seat with a (pretty large) camera stuck to my face for too long would have been a problem...

  • What I really loved about this video is that the guitar Paul is playing in this video is the same Ibanez V model that I have owned since 1982. I have 16 guitars in my collection and anytime I have a really difficult song to play I always turn to this guitar after all these years. I just wish Ibanez would re-issue it as my old rocket roll is still holding out but it is'nt getting any younger.

  • i think they do now. im sure that the quality isnt as good as those early models.

  • Bruce was actually in a signed major label band that toured opening for Nickleback like 2 or 3 years ago. I forget the name, but one of the lawyers from the firm I was represented by signed them. And it was a big deal. They ended up getting dropped unfortunately.

Bruce was also in The Scream that was just taking off when its singer John Corabi left to join Motely Crue.

Bruce did some instructional vids and clinics etc.

  • pretty sure bruce was in a form of mars volta, i might be wrong

  • epidemic

  • guys can you quit comparing paul and bruce they both are amazing and different and it's not about how many records you make it's about your playing and they both are very good at it!

  • yeah ur right men!!

  • Definetly not better than paul gilbert!! if he was better why are there so many records out with paul gilbert's name on it and not bruce bouillets??? - dont get me wrong.. hes a great guitarist too.. but not like paul gilbert. In fact, bruce was actually a student of paul gilberts back when he went to MIT.

  • and paul tought bruce at mi....bruce great, paul better

  • shred isn't music. everybody can teach to play fast, but making music is a bit more difficult.

paul can make music, he does what he likes to do.

  • who sayd bruce is better than paul gilbert is wrong..

bruce is good.. but paul gilbert is legendary player....

  • PG is legend, but both are great, I'm sure we can all agree!

  • nice

  • No they're fine; a bit low in the mix to hear but musically fine.

  • I was there!!!

  • That was my first concert! Kind of sad. But it's true I was there! Got the tickets for free from a radio station it was awesome!

  • i was there awesome just sublime!!!!!!!!

  • looks and sounds like gilbert is playing it the old way..he plays it a differant way when hes alone...

  • well heis with bruce again, i think it sounds better the old way when its being harmonized, if hes playing it the old way with no harmonization, it sounds like somethings missing

  • depends. the first time i heard that song, he was alone on the guitar, and i was in heaven while listening to it. Now , when i listent to the old song, it sounds wierd ...

  • yeah, i guess however you hear the song for the first time will set the bar, the first time i heard the song was the original way, so with no harmonization it sounds wierd, unless hes doing the "dumbed-down" version of it, which i think sounds pretty sick

  • no solo!!!! wtf!!!!!

  • the hair is needed

  • I WAS AT THIS SHOW F*CKING YES!!!

  • Bruce & Paul - Please REUNITE for a new RACER X record ! Blow away the world with a US Tour !!

  • I think they would, but Juan is in the mars volta and Scott is in Judas priest. Priest has a new album coming out soon so I don't think it's gonna happen for a while

  • woah wtf, an ibanez with a V body?

  • lol paul looks like he has massive ears here !

  • Go ahead and laugh all you want, but it's not funny. Paul has severe, irreversible hearing damage (tinnitus) from years of playing too loud, so he wears ear protection now. Eric Johnson also wears similar protection, since he has the same problem. So, a lesson here, kiddies: turning up to eleven may seem cool, but you'll regret it later.

  • AMEN

  • It was so awesome watching this at the Darby concert - that Les Paul copy had serious tone!

  • Incredible!!!

  • Bruce and Paul together again AWESOME!!!
