@68jaker I don't believe that's true. If humans are really the dominant against nature, than we would be destroying what I believe we were born to protect.
@FootballCat21 I believe that because we are dominant we have a responsibility to protect nature, but we can take we need from it. I know that a lot of times we don't protect it the way we should though. That is our responsibility as stuards of what God has given us.
@krazytudy Thank you for sharing your opinion with the rest of us. Maybe he will change the name. Although hes more likely to call you a granola munching hippie. (basically what everyone else thinks)
You just said real fishing is eating what you catch. So if I fish for 2 hours but I catch my regulated amount in an hour, what is the other hour called?
@sneakyninja273 REAL fishing is havin fun and doin what you like doin. its not like we just kill every single fish we catch we put them back.(if we DONT eat what we catch). besides the bible says humans are dominant over animals
Not sure I agree with all the comments saying fish don't feel pain, I used to enjoy carp fishing in the summer but gave it up a few years ago, some of the carp I have seen have had parts of their mouths ripped off from hooks when people are too heavy handed, I also wasn't happy when the line used to snap resulting is a carp swimming around with a hook permanently lodged in it's mouth.
I agree with fishing for food just not happy fishing for sport PERSONALLY and returning them to the water!
@smoky2004 The hooks actually don't stay long in their mouths. The fish either dies, or if the hook is in a non lethal part of the mouth, it will rust and corode away in a short period of time.
hello i am a new fly fishing beginner i am thinking about buying the cabelas wind river fly combo reel rod flyline and leader for 70 buck just wanted to know ur thought on it or if u could suggest a good learning combo reel please write back
@gunkid47 its a good combo for trainingyoull spends alot more then 70 bucks though fly line is like 30 then youll want some flys and other stuff just stick with it id get a 4 or a 5 weight
@gunkid47 Check out Ebay, you may get a good deal on some of the fly rod packs. I'm new to fly fishing like you and I use a fly rod that was a pack deal I'm having a lot of fun and hope to go to west VA to fly fish this weekend.
Losing fish is a fact of life for people that hook alot but the sheer number of hook ups is far better with fly fishing. If the fish is running downstream and you are pulling them against the current then the hook is pointed in a way that it can come out easily and you are fighting the current as well as the fish. You should never try to pull a fish against the current if you can avoid it. I prefer to let the current push them toward the bank as I apply steady pressure and walk down to them.
Well of course if you fly fish somwhere where fish are everywhere well yeah you can cast facing the current or even blindfolded if you want, but when you're in a river you have to cast downstream so you can have some tension in your line. Otherwise the line keep coming toward you wich is really not good when a fish strike.
If at all possible, you would want to do neither. A cast slightly upstream, mostly perpendicular to the current, allows a more natural drift to the fly. A big, weary trout is not going to hit a bug that is not drifting naturally with the current.
If you hit a monster bull trout, like some of the ones that I fish around here, you could be fighting them for upwards of an hour. But the entire time is a huge adrenaline rush and landing a huge bull trout makes you feel like a king.
Poor video, we should have seen him land the fish, i don't rate this guys fishing techniques or his camera man lol. I would recomend looking at some more respected fisherman for tips
That is what make Salmon and Trout good fish, its what you call a "sporting" fish, you dont catch them just to eat, you catch them for sport. What makes them a good sporting fish is that they fight for a long time, and have the ability to do long runs and air flicks. So if you dont fight them, you must only be catching them for food, in which there is way better fish for food out there.
oh i do fight them but if i reeled it in and then every time it pulled let it run out i'd be screwed, that might work for crick fishing but rappids r a complete different story, and salmon r really good eats the only thing i find that beat them r pickeral
true the fish dont feel pain they just get a huge energy boost thats why they can swim that fast during hooking its nature so they can run away from predators
alright, you want to get them in quick because trout need their strenght on the stream and the net you are using will take off the fish's natural smile. when you remove this slime they are almost certain to get a disese . please use an eco-friendly net or no net at all. a trout is too good of a fish to only catch once.
The net is bad, but almost certainly get disease? not true, a normal net won't cause too much harm if its not dry. Yes, it will do some damage, and i definatly recommend a not-free net, but the damage normal nets do is exagerated.
LOOK MAIN. WHATS THE POINT OF FISHING CATCHING A NICE ONE AND FIGHITING WITH THE FISH. SO IF YOU GOT THE BIG ONE EVENTUALLY YOU GONNA HAVE TO PLAY AROUND WITH IT TO GET IT TIRED AND JUST GET HIM ON THE LAND. SO JUST FIGHT WITH IT IN A RIGHT WAY AND PLUS its fun> because it is the point of fishing> you dont want to catch the fish and get it on the land as fast as you can instead you want to fight with it to have fun>.....
all i have to say is if you people are going to just critisize this why watch?....he was doing a good job to me and ive been fly fishing about 7 years....and about the fish dont run....its just a figure of speach...thanks

If youre going to release it, you dont want to tire it out completely, and if youre going to keep it, theres still no need in playing it that long.

So you reel when the fish doesn't fight, but whe she does fight, stop reeling? Don't pump the reel like in baitcasting? Wow, doesn't it take forever?
