Awwwhh!!!! now I can die...I love this song so much! Its just emanates so much heart and soul. I just like to sound as kid now I feel it! Loving ya even more, Breathe!!!!!
i think at that time and era...people produce music with so much freedom..passion..so pure and innocence and the lyrics was just amazing... so fortunate to had lived through those days to enjoy such a wonderful music of the 80's..the early 90's ...it's my favorites too....maybe i am stuck in the 80's.....whose next to listen again?
Songs are simply not crafted this intelligently any more. What a lame brained business the music industry has become. A perfect song from start to finish...absolutely terrific. No auto tune, no screaming, no backup dancers...just MUSIC that is well performed. The way it used to be and still should be.
@23lanyu It's 1987-88 actually, but yeah this one is beautiful. It's one of my all time favorites. The British New Wave of the 80s created some of the best music ever. Nothing before or since compares. What was it about that decade that so much great music was produced?
I am only 25 years old, and this music means so much more to me than what is out there now a days. I also listened to this song when my first girlfriend Alyssa passed away when I was in 9th grade. I felt as though as this song was for her. I miss her so much. She was such a good person. I always stood up for her no matter what. She was a sweet heart. R.I.P. Alyssa. This song is for you sweetie. ;_;
There is nothing like this song!! The best song ever written. Chills and tears everytime I hear it. Passionate lyrics of real human emotions. I love this song and yet it hurts to listen to it. :(
these guys were great!! he has such a great voice!! man...someone please bring back the 80's....i'd even take most of the 90's!!! Anything but the CR@POLA they are playing now!!!! ;)
When I was 14 in 1991, I remember dancing to this song at a party with this girl I liked and had an annoying and embarrassing boner all through the dance..lol..I had to cleverly keep a space between myself and her so she didn't feel it touch her..Any other fellas had this happen to them?..LOL.
glory days of american music and america itself.but now...but now. They say that music reflects one's culture and heritage.so now hhaaa.i hope america wakeup soon before its too late
This song takes me back to the late 80's to mid 90's. I had it on a cassette tape. I used to listen to this particular cassette, and it makes me think of when I was a teen, feeling lost and lonely in the world and then somewhere in the middle of it all... I found love, lost love, found love again, had my heart broken, and broke other's hearts, gave myself to the wrong guy, but learned a valuable lesson along the way. Life is beautiful :)
This song still has great memories for me. My husband and I were married in 1991 But I had left him in the summer of 1990 to go back to safford az from Tucson but he had followed me shortly after to profess his love. I have not looked back ever since,
Does anyone else think if you close your eyes and listen to this you could be listening to Alison Moyet, another great singer from the 80s. Click like if you agree or dislike if you don't.
Man, I am strolling down the best of memory lane right now. I do have to say, this song is dedicated to my favorite NFL team right now. We aren't doing great at the moment, so here's to the chargers!!
I always loved this song. I didn't see the video until I started watching YouTube, and it's too bad actually. It's very beautiful, and proves that videos don't need to be racy or violent.
I love this song. When I miss my mother who passed away 1 1/2 yrs. ago I play this song. Great band, great song. What ever happened to Breath. They are an amazing band. Yes I have to agree the 80's music is wonderful. Lyrics are so meaningful. Timeless music.
great song. i have it's album All That Jazz. This one and How Can I Fall are personal favorites. Believe me when i say: music will never be this good again. That's why it is up to us to keep the great music of the past playing to teach these kids growing up in the "beiber" "gaga" era what real music is.
This song takes me back to being a teen girl and losing my first love. I would play this song over and over and pray that someday we would be back together. It is funny at that age it feels like the end of the world and so serious. Then one day you realize that life goes on and you find new love, better love. The 80's had so many beautiful, very moving songs. I just love the 80's sooo much! I have so many good memories of fun times then. It just ended way too quickly. A blink and it was gone.:-(
@vipent5 I know what that hurt feels like! It happened to me & this song was on the radio when i was going thru this..same thing when i lost my first love. I listen to this song &....I am write back there & I'm a Guy!
@jejin11 Ahhhh now , a lady never reveals her age in public. Where I come from, it is impolite to talk about one's age. No offense to you but some things a lady keeps private to strangers. I will tell you I am from the South so that should give you some indication. But I will tell you this. I was " on the edge of 17" back then so there is your * hint * :-)
@thecarebearhideaway ur like 41 now? hands to heaven was released in 1987 and your saying your 17 back then, so if i was not mistaken you were born in 1970. not bad, not old enough btw, your from south? what south?
@thecarebearhideaway lol, Just wondering I had a love like that once, she cried when i had to leave, it broke my heart! thought it may have been her, this song makes me think of her
@naughtyvalues Oh that reminds me, I see you subbed to me but your channel is unavailable so I cant sub you back. Just thought I would let you know the situation! :-)
@jotenor Awe.. Thanks so much for such a kind comment. I just write from my heart you know. :-) No, the magic that was upheld in the 80's has never returned and I dont ever see that magic returning so all we can do is cherish what we had and carry those special memories in our heart. Long live the 80's! :-)
This song makes me cry everytime. I remember i was three and we lived in Germany. My dad was away at Desert Storm and my mom used to put this on repeat and dance with me and my my sister and just cry. Sad but happy.
This song envokes feelings a lot of us haven't felt since we heard the song for the first time. It breaks your heart but gives you hope, not many songs do that anymore. It is truly the quintessential 80's love song. Well done sirs.
Damn, this song is so beautiful it causes such an emotional rush that it almost hurts to listen to it. Maybe that's the part that makes it hard to listen to? **clicks browser window close button**
I miss good music... *starts tearing up* maybe, in the future, after music is destroyed music will reverse and come back full circle to its peak then beginnings and then star over. (I have an active imagination, don't mind me enjoy the song)
Someone had this song uploaded a while back, and whoever owns the rights to the video itself not had it taken it down, for some reason, that upload would've reached a million views by now, easily. Here's hoping this one reaches a million views quickly. :D
This is such a beautiful song. Is it a one hit wonder? Just wondering. I certainly don't ever remember hearing of them having any other hit, other than this beautiful ballad.
they had "how can I fall"- in 1988 and "don't tell me lies"in 1989.
after that things just wasn't going their way and they eventually disbanded in 1992.sad though, great music and great guys. but I do say with authority that for the short time they spent giving us their beautiful music, they have done more, given more, blessed us with more and the world has benefited more from their absolutely beautiful music than most WANNABE SINGERS OF TODAY!
@ronaldanil I know. I kinda wish they still had love ballads on the radio, like they did in the 80's and 90's. They also don't have any good wedding songs on the radio anymore. I mean, the stuff they play is good, but it's just not the same.
The girl in the video is my ex. We were together for five years and this video was shot just a week after I left her, stupid boy that I was. She didn't deserve it and I can see the sorrow in her face as she dances.
God, it still takes me back to that broken heart. Wanted to spend every moment of my life with you. This was our song I wonder if you still think of me.
Great lovemaking music. Takes me back to the summer of 88 when I used to work at Astroworld (before it was closed down and demolished.). I don't care how old this song is, it's timeless.
Ah the 'slow set' eh, happy days. If she said yes to a tune like this, it was like all your Xmas' coming together at once! Dancing cheek to cheek, intentions pure and simple. A time when a kiss goodnight was enuf to keep you awake all night replaying it in your mind
@spuddiem I danced with a girl one night and smelled her perfume on my shirt all night...should have asked her out but never did...was an innocent time...miss the 80's sometimes
With all the renditions from almost an uncertain number of other singers, specially here in the Phil the original still gets the mix of the sound perfectly. :D
i love this song, I was living overseas in Japan when I first heard this song in 1987- My parents were Youth Minist. for the High school kids trip that we were on ,I was only 6 or 7 at the time had to go with them and I saw this boy i had the biggest crush on i stuck around him like a lost puppy lol they started to play this song and I watched him dance with someone else :-( of course someone if his own age lol but he gave me the best memory of this song great 80s song.
Brings back memories when this video came out. Great crying song.

Christinafan2002 4 months ago
@Christinafan2002
certainly not a one hit wonder!
they had "how can I fall"- in 1988 and "don't tell me lies"in 1989.
after that things just wasn't going their way and they eventually disbanded in 1992.sad though, great music and great guys. but I do say with authority that for the short time they spent giving us their beautiful music, they have done more, given more, blessed us with more and the world has benefited more from their absolutely beautiful music than most WANNABE SINGERS OF TODAY!

Beautiful song and for me, very very poignant.

With all the renditions from almost an uncertain number of other singers, specially here in the Phil the original still gets the mix of the sound perfectly. :D
