A cat is a male.

The cat is not biting hard. My cats do this too each other when they are grooming one another. Its like when a mother cat is grooming its kitten and it bites the kitten to keep it still.

people stop complaining about the cat. If there is a complaint then it would be about the human owner. The cat is a dedicated carnivore. PD are rodents, oh gee I love chocolate and you put me in charge of guarding the pile of world class chocolate. Talk about tempting. But, if the cat has never hunted that reduces problems, Also the PD are big. If the cat eats one its not the cats fault. Oh, yes cats nip for affection and nip to warn.

Cats bite to play & to communicate annoyance. My cat bites when I pet it in ways it doesn't like (I stop as soon as he hints).
