  • I have the same laptop, and when it starts up, a start up repair occurs and it keeps on happening. Its been going on for the past week. HELP!!!!!!

  • @luxraytrainer13 You should be able to run a test on the hard drive by pressing F12 during boot up. It could be that windows needs to be reloaded or that there is some type of hard drive failure. Good luck!

  • @TheShattertheGlass It's a conductor of heat and is applied to the CPU.

  • @ThePoeticbeer It is called thermal paste and is VERY important. There may be a written guide if you search the internet. I have taken apart the Inspiron 1545 so many times it's crazy lol.

  • @teddbear52 Please check your messages as my reply is too large for the comments section.

  • I've got an Inspiron 1526 and just ordererd a replacement DC Power Jack unit 48.4W006.011. As far as you know is the 1526 pretty similar in dissasembly and reassembly?

  • @georgert Yes, they should be very much the same. Good luck! Please let me know how things go for you and if you would like me to replace the part for you I would be happy to.

  • well after a month of waiting for the ac power jack. it came today i follow this viedo and now it works. and it also its charging as well. thanx for the tutorial

  • Hi M8 We Have 2x Dell 1545 Inspirons 18 months old one decided to stop working while playing Diablo II last week, the power adaptor is working and we have even tried swopping the batteries without success. I have tried pressing the power button for 20 seconds with battery and power lead removed and leaving it for ten minutes b4 trying to restart . Any Ideas

  • @mgr1956 Removing and reinstalling the memory could help if there is a problem with loose or oxidized memory connections. You could try to remove the memory and see if the computer is beeping (missing memory beep code) always remove the power/battery before servicing a laptop. I would be happy to check it out if you would like as well. Good luck!

  • @FastVideoTech Yeah I have removed the memory and re-installed that was the first thing i tried i have also removed the drives one at a time and tried to start without success, I would love you to take a look but you are in PA in USA and im in North London so that is out of the question i think

I have noticed sometimes there is a faint noise when i take my finger off the power on button

  • also would it help improve my laptop speed and how it runs if i take it apart and blow it out?

  • my 1545 is sorta messed up it charges sometimes and sometimes doesnt, it will still stay powered on

  • This video was excellent and very helpful. I too, tried to desolder the DC jack, but in this instance found it nearly impossible to melt the existing solder. I finally had to break the existing jack and manually (really really manually LOL) remove the jack. Soldered in the new jack. Going to reassemble now. Hopefully I didn't screw up the PCB while extracting.

  • @umpnator Good luck! Please let me know how everything worked out. Thanks!

  • Do you have to remove the heatsink, Have you replaced a DC jack on a 1521 model? Is it much different?

  • @Aaron16 I remove the heat sink assembly so that the dust can be cleaned. A clean laptop is a happy laptop :-) The DC Jack replacement procedure of a Dell 1521 is very similar.

  • hey will an AMD Athlon II X2 255 3.1GHz proccesor be compatible with a dell inspiron 1525

  • @fastvideotech thanx yeah i forgot to tinned the tip and also solder it before unsoldering it.. ill give your suggestions ago thanx, also yeah i need alot of practice because it my first time doing it i also found the piece on ebay for 5 $

  • @fastvideotech thank you for your reply yeah i have the same problem with the same laptop top the reason i asked about the iron was because im using a 30watt soldering iron but the old soldering wont melt so that i can remove the ac power jack and replace it..

  • @lobokun Please check your messages as my reply is too long for the comments.

  • I have that same computer and problem how much will this repair cost me? :(

  • @maccam59 The repair cost depends on the condition of the DC Jack but generally range from $100 to $150 at my shop. We do a free estimate so you will know the cost of repair before there is any charge. Please let me know if you have any questions.

  • nice video what kind of soldering iron did you use to solder the ac power jack

  • @lobokun Thank you. In this video I replaced the entire DC Jack / USB board so did not need to do any soldering. However, I will be making a video about soldering in the future.

  • I found the source of the problem the computer is running fine. i also replaced the cpu paste as well. So thanks man!!!

  • @TheComedian56 I'm so happy to hear this, thanx for letting me know!

  • I did every thing you did except the cleaning and renewing that paste. The computer i was working on does not power on now. It did at first but i found out when i went to log in i forgot to reconnect the key board. so i went back in did that and it has not power on again...any help from you would be extremly helpful

  • @TheComedian56 Please check your messages!

  • liked the video but it would be much easier to follow if you slowed it down and talked us through it.

  • thanks alot man! I had to replace my power jack and this speed run field strip video helped me do it!
