Well, quite clearly it harkens back to a style from a number of decades ago, so it is certainly 'fresh' and 'new' in terms of its direct contemporaries in recent times. Reminds me of when I first heard the Last Shadow Puppets. You'd have to be pretty oblivious with regards to musical genres to lump this along with typical 2000s britpop.

I fail to see the correlation from Mr. Alexander Turner and Mr. Eugene McGuinness. Both have very different approaches to music. McGuinness's music doesn't sound neither like The Last Shadow Puppets or the Arctic Monkeys. I think some people need Q-tips.
