"SEMI" (Southeast Mounted Infantry) has conducted TRUE polls in Tennessee and i can honestly say that the overwhelming majority of Tennesseeans do NOT want their healthcare put in the hands of the fed gov. there are already programs to help those that cant afford it and we see no good reason to turn it over to the fed gov even to a republican pres. and yes we asked that question in the poll interviews conducted. i suggest others do the same and go door to door. find out 4 yourself

Western/northern Europe, Australia, Japan and Canada are frickin' Utopias when you compare it to the U.S right now; similar BNP's per capita but higher standard of living. Stop holding Obama back and bring America into the 21th century. Just cause you're living the dream doesn't mean that everyone else is so lucky.

The videos issue is the need of a health care reform. You are the living proof of that issues necessity. Lets hope for your kinds sake that Obama succeeds soon.
And maybe you should stop reading medieval lies that were based on gullibility and stupidity of uneducated people. It might help returning to reality.
@2700giovanni why dont u go get a life and stop googleing stupid random shit ?instead of rambleing about stupid shit that has nothing to do with politics why not try to help the country out?
Thank you President Obama and our Democratic Party Congress, for our friends at Wall Street have recently given themselves bonuses topping over $20 BILLION dollars. Looking back, your bailout was a bitter pill for us taxpayers, but now we can't thank you enough Obama in making it possible for them to make such outrages bonuses. We trust you have already gotten your fair share of the money for your next election.

Over the past year, as families and small business owners have struggled to pay soaring health care costs, and as millions of Americans lost their coverage, the five largest insurers made record profits of over $12 billion.
The American people deserve better than this.
President Obama has invited Democrats and Republicans to a bipartisan health care meeting next week.
Call your Senator and Representative and urge them to attend and work together to find a solution.
@jasonbarba jason what you say is so true its funny how the people who lie and have so much ignorance didnt give a shit when george bush was in office.now when a president is atleast trying to fix it they go crazy with rage.
We as Democrats are marching in a parade with people Harry Truman or even Jack Kennedy would not recognize - socialist (also know as progressives) who think that Western civilization began in 1969. Strangely, without meaning to, we the mainstream Democrats find ourselves representing this "socialist movement." However, for the "socialist" within our Democratic Party, there is nothing so strange about it. Socialist have always sought to leverage corruption for the sake of power.
As a result, our Democratic Party has already lost the equivalent of every member we have acquired over the past seven years or more, and many of them are now supporting the tea party. More importantly, a recent Newsweek cover declared, "We are all socialists now."
Meanwhile our middle-class families are looking for more than empty promises. They want to go back to work. And they want our Democratic Party representatives who run Washington to stop pursuing a big government, big spending agenda that includes a government takeover of health care, stimulus bills, a new national energy tax and taxpayer-funded bailouts.
Our Democratic Party representatives in Washington will borrow $1.6 trillion this year, or about $15,000 for every household in the country. Over the next 10 years our federal government is expected to borrow an additional $8.5 trillion, and this is on top of the 12 trillion we currently owe. These figures are beyond being enormous, especially since we already pay one in seven dollars in interest.
Looking back, most voters still consider the bailouts of both the finance and auto industries to be a bad idea. By a 2-to-1 margin, voters believe the bailouts hurt the economy in the long run.

Obama and his administration has recently approved the "ASSASINATION OF AMERICANS by U.S. Forces.
Now our Government can say what they want of you, if they want you dead, your trial is not necessary to allow due process of proof of guilt, but instead. . .YOUR EXECUTED before the facts are sorted out. . . it is obvious what is going on here.
The Democratic Party representatives are no less the same corporate bailers and militarists than the Republicans. They hand trillions to the banks and brokerage firms; they sell the same lies about the wars; they fund the very enemy that they claim to fight; they keep up the same contracts with Blackwater and its successors; they vote for the same war funding; they carry out the same secret renditions; they continue the same spying on US citizens; they exonerate torturers, and much more. . .
Obamas mouth is the stinking pit of hell,He was elected to lead this country into financial ruin.Woe to the unsuspecting people who follow this beast of the underworld.
Idiot!!!!! you F--ing idiot! You're pushing all of this shit to ruin the country. Yeah maybe some extreme leftists are happy but your aproval rating is going down... stop blaming bush for everything and do your f--ing job!!! im sick and tired of you making so many promises and you never do anything about it.
@geofiles Hey, I thought you said you were a Democrat. On the other video you were speaking for the Democrats and now in this video, you're speaking for the Republicans. What's going on here...?
Looking back, most voters still consider the bailouts of both the finance and auto industries to be a bad idea. By a 2-to-1 margin, voters believe that the bailouts hurt the economy in the long run.
President Obama has started his second year in office with his job approval rating at 50 percent. This is a long way from the 68 percent he enjoyed when he was sworn in, and it's the second lowest of all presidents since Dwight Eisenhower at the start of his second year as President.
Obama said, "Starting in 2011, we are prepared to freeze government spending for three years."
However, the anticipated savings from this proposal would amount to less than 1 percent of the deficit — and thats if the president can persuade Congress to go along with it.
In short, again Obama is trying to feed us a bunch of crap.
I always wondered what it would be like as I got older, after working all of my life and serving this country proudly...
Now that I see its all going to shit and being ran by fubar youth, Oprah and Hollywierd liberals I think I'll go and support Canada for the remainder of my years unless we can turn this back around in the next election. Otherwise, this is no longer the America that I supported and fought for.
Freedom isn't FREE, and if you sit back and expect someone else to do the hard work in order to reap the benefits, then the progressives with their agendas based on moving our Nation deeper into socialism will be victorious, and our children and grandchildren will pay the price with the lost of their LIBERTY.
Thank you, and God Bless America.
Eric Pearson, Democratic Party candidate for US Congress in 2010.
White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel has long been known for his foul mouth and ferocious temper.
Emanuel told several liberal groups their idea was "f---ing retarded," during a political strategy meeting in August.
We must call upon our president Obama to dismiss Emanuel as chief of staff for his "slur on all God's children with cognitive and development disabilities and the people who love them."
I am ashamed to be a Democrat. More than that, I have come to fear my own party. Hatred and corruption - the roots of fascism - are on the march in America as they have never been before, and leading this march is the Democratic Party. Increasingly, mainstream Democrats are uncomfortable with what we see in our party. We may not have a real name for it, but we know it is dangerous.
I would say the same for both parties. It's the nature of the beast, politics in the United States has become this extremely polarizing form of absolutism. One party has to be right and the other completely wrong, there is no compromise or common ground, just lies, conspiracy, backlash...it's very sad.
SOCIALIZED MEDICINE does not work.....I have been aRN for close to 20 years, i have never seen anyone denied health care, not even illegal immigrants.....
The focus needs to be on the pharmaceutical companies...it will be a sad day when government controls health care
I'd be a hypocrite if I told his opponents they were out of line for calling Obama a schmuck. I called Bush more than that. However, I didn't start that until his administration invaded Iraq, three years after he was elected.
Middle-class families are looking for more than empty promises. They want to go back to work. And they want the Democrats who run Washington to stop pursuing a big government, big spending agenda that includes a government takeover of health care, stimulus bills, a new national energy tax and taxpayer-funded bailouts. The recent elections in Massachusetts, Virginia, and New Jersey have shown that voters aren't buying this rhetoric, and in November well see voters aren't buying it either.
Right on geofiles, you are so correct. Dont feel bad about being conned and lied to. It was not your fault. Cheers for now understanding what big socialist government has done to this once free proud and prosperous nation. We are broke. We cannot sustain this massive spending and big government choke hold on our businesses. Osama Obama said he would cut the yearly deficits in half his first year and balance the budget in his first year. We are on the decline. We are broke and doomed.
People have to be educated on something. The Bailouts, though fucked up, was necessary. Especially with the auto industry. That's manufacturing. The banks. That's money. What two big industries do you think runs countries? I'll give you a hint. I just named them. Our agriculture has tanked a little as well. Remember those sand storms that ripped through the mid-west in the 1930's? I'm just elated Obama broke everything down on live T.V. I wish everyone in America saw it. GOP. The game is up.
The Fight for Health Reform! Maybe President Obama could draw on Clinton's health care plan by financing a television campaign featuring a middle-class family or couple discussing their concerns about President Obamas present day health reform plan. The Clinton plan lost momentum don't let this happen to the Obama Health care reform plan because different committees come to different conclusions. The political foes are trying to brand President Obamas health plan as excessively costly.
I wonder what a surprise it'll be to you if you find out you have cancer and your noble, gallant, chivalrous health insurer says, "Sorry, I think that was inherited. We don't cover pre-existing conditions."
@nafaidni cancer vs health care hmm, pretty sure cancer would be alot better. if ur trying to hurt my feeling ur going to need to do better =], like i said Die health care DIE!!!
What government is and the free market is not is organized. When a problem arises, the government can use all its resources to solve the specific issues. The free market, being run on greed manipulated to create progress, cannot deal effectively with such problems. The government exists to protect one element of the nation or failure thereof from destroying the nation itself.
This is how it has always been and always will be for prosperous nations. Arguing will not change reality.
You know what I thought the republicans was alot tougher than they showed us today in the meeting with Obama, Obama knocked them back forth around and around today, they couldn't believe it! Go Obama Kick their republican asses!
Of course, none of this will happen, being as "radical" is it is. People are too afraid of their elected representatives to allow them to effectively solve their problems. It is why health care cannot pass.
I don't feel the free market is a bad one. But it has tendencies to fail based on the bad decisions of a few people or groups with positions of consequence. When such failures occur, the perpetrators cannot be trusted by anyone with common sense or responsibility to repair them.
What do you mean, "We're all doomed!"? The current policies of the Administration really stopped the downward spiral already, messy as they were. To solve unemployment EFFICIENTLY, I would recommend a massive government levy of workforce to participate in national development that could be used as a make-shift income source for those people until businesses can hire again.
But it's not necessary. The unemployed will rot, though, and a bit of the country with them.
Claims based on no facts are nothing more. They mean nothing.
I can tell you payed no attention to the stock market, the GDP, the unemployment trend, history, economic theory, logic, nor any other source of knowledgable conclusions.
What do you think it means when the rate of unemployment begins grinding to a halt?
Or when the GDP begins to grow faster than in 6 years?
Or when your elected representatives say, "WAKE UP! THE RECESSION IS OVER! SMELL THE GROWTH!"?
Of course, to repair the economy, you would still need to bail out the banks. It wouldn't be possible for businesses to exist without their loans. But it should be regulated like hell. Every dime must be directed to eliminating toxic assets, hiring workers, making loans, and not a cent be given as rewards for the grand failures of their leaders and decision-makers.
Corporations given bailouts, in my opinion, must look at themselves as servants to the country and remain so until all is repaid.
Think about it. If the government ordered a state of "instability" or something and offered job positions at creating energy plants and trains and roads and repair pipes and such, demanding food be given freely to public workers and taxing the upper bracket to pay them, unemployment could be just erased. If the government made a temporary, massive public worker organization, jobs could be restored. Later, if the economy restablizes, the public facilities could be sold or privatized.
"hmmm I think because if we went 'socialist' it would stay that way. its not exactly temporary. take China for example......"
China was never a representative republic. It never had the intention nor the promise of removing itself from its socialist being. It embraced socialism as a permanent policy, not one meant to save the economy after the failure of a capital economy.
I see no reason a temporary state of instability cannot be used to end this recession.
Of course, the actions required would have to involve a temporary socialization of an economy. But I honestly think it is worth it. If citizens fought in the Revolutionary War practically for free (as the paper money they got would end up pretty worthless, and if they lost, it would have absolutely no value) to secure future liberty, why can't citizens temporarily oblidge to the government to restore stability and gain future prosperity?
Traditionally during a recession, governments have used a lot of spending to overturn it. Adolf Hitler, for example, pretty much terminated massive unemployment by offering government positions to the unemployed.
This is a simple reality. Government, when used right, with its ability to print money and tax freely, can end virtually any recession. Doing this would make a conservative faint, with their policy of rhetoric over result, but it nevertheless is true and something to keep in mind.
People are so polarized but dependent, these days...
Worthless claims of how Obama is killing the economy when their speakers do not know shit about economics...
During a recession, the responsible course of actions taken WILL increase the deficit, one way or another, either by tax cuts or government spending.
Tax cuts don't work when there is a huge problem like this or when a single sector caused the problem. They're only efficient at accelerating existing growth.
Why dont you bring solutions to the table instead of pointing out the problems. We ALL know what the problems are- WHAT ARE YOUR SOLUTIONS?? Quit blaming the president- fucking whinners!
Today according to CNN The government has officially announced the recession is over and the Democrats has proposed a jobs bill that will enploy 4.7 million americans. I'd say the President was telling the truth and fixing the economy. so now you republican ass wipes can finally shut up, if you don't believe me turn on the damn tv. He even had a meeting with GOP today so he is trying Bipartisanship. I would say he is moving in a better direction!
A meeting with GOP means nothing... If he includes Republicans in the policy making process, then we'll see how bipartisan he will be...
Also, the government is never accurate in their claims of how bad unemployment is, or how many jobs are lost, etc...
I don't see how any recovery can be attributed to Obama... None of his policies have worked to any large scale... Any jobs he's actually created were temporary infrostructure jobs or government jobs... niether of which help a whole lot...
All recovery can be attributed to him. The massive tax cuts of the stimulus bill, its bailouts of the banks that let companies pay so many of their workers (though not executed efficiently), and its support of people already damaged by the recession saved the country from a depression.
And government jobs don't help a lot? So the army, the roads, USPS, Medicare, and every public works project it ever funded is useless, then?
President Obama has given our Democratic Party a terrible legacy that will live on for many years to come. He has shown those with any intelligence that anyone other than a corporate lobbyist should nevermore believe in a Democrat for any positive change. Our President Obama is clearly the false prophet of change. That is to say, except for given us a higher meaning of change in the form of gullibility accorded to Democratic Party demagoguery.
President Obama is a compulsive liar, and now no one can believe another Democrat will ever deliver a thing he or she promises. President Obama has filled the Democratic Party hot air balloon to the limit and it has burst. It falls like a failing parachute taking along nearly everyone of us within the Democratic Party.
Sorry if you thought Obama was going to be able to fix every problem within his first month in office, but at least see what happens after 4 years before you judge him. Things are starting to look up, but its going to take a long time to recover. If we're worse off 3 years from now, then give yourself a cookie for being right.
Our GDP has risen again. 5.7%. Largest since 2003. Though we are not out of a recession, and the President a lot of times gets too much credit/blame for the economy, I have to give it to Obama because I remember how absolutely terrible it was at that time and now look how much better it has gotten.
I know ppl say tht he's good at talking, but never really gets it done. But I don't think u should be so hard on him. He's still way better then many other american presidents before him. And I'm sure tht he's really trying hard to get things done!
He is intentionally trying to decieve the American people... In his SOTU address Wednesday, he was talking about tax cuts and tax incentives and elliminating capital gains taxes on small businesses... He doesn't believe in tax cuts; he's just taking a shot at Republicans...
There is no reason to think that he will start cutting taxes now... Paygo has been gutted and his "spending freeze" will save less than 1% of the budget... Hardly a push for fiscal responsibility... It's all just words...
Our Nation is currently at a mere $106,000,000,000,000 TRILLION dollars of UNFUNDED Liability!! National ASSETS equal $78,000,000,000,000 leaving a burden on the people/Liability per person of $346,000
Debt to GDP is just 85%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And banks turn MOST folks down for credit or loans when their debt ratio reaches 50%
The bill he wants to pass is so compromised that it is worse than a joke. The GOP is so pathetic that they don't even approach the competence to lead. Obama caved in on everything and still the party of no would not agree because they can't afford to have Obama even appear to succeed at anything. Does anyone else see a seriously flawed government?
Thank you Barack for making things like empathy, rapport, and human interest possible. I know you are under certain liabilities and cannot always deliver what you would rather have happen, but your spirit in this term will never die! You have represented "minority" groups that do need your aid. We need to send the message across to others that we exist and that we are also human like they are. There are too many cold people out there.
@SerinaJK Obama has basically restored the good reputation of America in the eyes of the world. He has also bought you out of recession, although the effects of the recession will reverberate for a while. Democrats must be tougher, they are far too weak and capitulate far too easily to the Republicans. I like Obama, but he needs to LEAD his party with an iron fist. He wants to be bi-partisan all the time which people on the right take advantage of and his own party sometimes goes against him.
I feel so sorry for Obama. He really is an honest man looking out for our best interests, However, we have the conservatives arguing against his plans and we also have to worry about the Blackwater and other entities that could assassinate him if he utters one wrong word. For someone who is under so much stress, he really is doing his job.
@SerinaJK I agree with you. I feel sorry for him too. A lot of fans of the conservatives are basically morons obsessed with guns and they listen to people like Glenn Beck telling them Obama is a 'fascist' or than Obama is a communist and they are brainwashed with indoctrination from so-called 'news' programs like FOX 'news' who are basically just the right arm of the conservative agenda against Obama. Obama needs to get tough and stand up to those who would scupper his progress.
Yes. I have a stock application on my Ipod and DOW rose from the all time low of 9,100 to 10,500 since Obama has become president. To put it in simple terms he is doing pretty well.
The DOW doesn't reflect the actual economy... Unemployment is still climbing, and jobs are still going overseas... The 787 billion dollar stimulus hasn't worked, and they are blatantly lying when they make reports about "saved or created" jobs...
The bailouts that he supported were disasters that didn't fix much and gave rise to a lot of corruption...
Any recovery that is going on isn't from Obama... All Obama has managed to do was grow government and fund Unions and Democrat pet projects
Not as much as before, which is the point. You can't make jobs with a flick of a wand in a capitalist economy. You don't like it? Then vote to socialize America. Socialist economies run entirely by the state can do things quite efficiently without the corporations being relied on to create jobs.
The bailouts were a necessary bad idea, thanks to a bad economy. The recession is over.
The recession is not over... And the bailouts actually hindered the recovery of GM and Chrysler, which still went bankrupt anyway... Ford is already showing profits...
Unions have destroyed the auto industry, and were the reason that GM owed money for every car they sold... They have gone from a check against harsh treatment of factory workers to a political machine that milks the companies dry...
If socialism or progressivism created prosperity, Venezuela would be the wonder of the world.
Prove to me that giving companies handouts of money somehow will hinder their growth.
That is a joke, and you know it. If not, you have established that you know as much of economics as Rush Limbaugh does and must henceforth leave logical debate and go to talk radio, comparing your political opponents to Nazis, Marxists, Islamic fundamentalists, and various other conflicting political ideologies within the same speaking session. Facts are not worth a cent, there.
The bailouts prevented GM and Chrysler from going through Chapter 11 bankruptcy sooner (which delayed their recovery), which would have legally allowed for them to lower or drop their obligations to the Unions...
Also, taking the bailouts resulted in tougher regulations on emmissions and fuel efficiency, and the type of cars they produce, which had a negative effect because their most popular cars are less fuel efficient... Along with other loops they had to jump through to get the money...
Socialism is the use of the government to plan an economy and develop it in a way that creates industry, education, and improved human rights.
There is a difference between an attempt at socialism and actual socialism. Socialism is sadly enforced by moronic fools who seem to forget that regulating your people to death was something Karl Marx was deported several times in his life for speaking out against.
Progressivism is the reason of America's success. Not conservative tax cuts which were later repealed due to the massive deficit they produced. The country is largely great because of the Federal Government's promotion of industry, commerce, and innovation.
For example, when Franklin Delano Roosevelt nationalized (a.k.a. socialized) industry in WW2, America turned from a country of a few aeroplanes, armored cars, and a Great Depression to a global superpower.
FDR dragged the Great Depression through for a whole decade because of his progressive policies... WWII brought us out because of a huge demand for production of food and goods for the military...
Reagan's tax cuts increased GDP by 28% and caused the longest period of peacetime prosperity in American history... Deficits were caused by a Democrat congress that didn't allow as many spending cuts as he wanted... Along with the extra military spending for the Cold War...
Reagan's tax cuts increased GDP by 28% and caused the longest period of peacetime prosperity in American history...
I believe you have this wrong.
Clinton policies led to the longest period of peacetime prosperity in American history...
Clinton's strategy of fiscal discipline, open foreign markets and investments in the American people helped create the conditions for a record 115 months of economic expansion. The economy has grown at an average of 4 percent per year since 1993.
Clinton was controlled by a Republican Congress for six of his eight years in office, because he was pushing for healthcare reform... Any fiscal responsibility came from them not Clinton...
But Reagan's economic practices kept us in prosperity from 1983 to 1992... Clinton's econmic practices kept us in prosperity from 1994 to late 2000 early 2001...
Though I agree, Clinton's economy was pretty good...
Slick Willy did not do anything. He was the president and not in control of the budget or legistlation. It was the repub congress led by Newt and John Kaisich that created an atmosphere for businesses to thrive. Slick Willy his first 2 yrs had a socialist dem congress similar to today and they failed. Newt slowed the rate of government growth. Slick Willy got the credit but he cant make legistlation or cut spending. Presidents get the credit which is wrong. Slick Willy did not want to cut!
Slick Willy did nothing for the economy. What did he do? His first 2 years he had a socialist democrap congress that created huge deficits. After the repubs took over congress lead by Newt did things change. It was John Kaisich and Newt who slowed the rate of gov growth, nothing was cut. The tech stock explosion created many jobs, companies, profits etc, it was not slick willy. I ask you what did Slick Willy do to create jobs? Also how could slick willy go from total socialist policies to growth
slick willy had no fiscal discipline. He raised taxes the largest in history within 30 days something he said he would not do. For 2 yrs slick willy taxed and spent and the American voters rejected him. Newt using the Contract With America worked. Slick Willy in the first 30 days had unelected Hillary trying to take over the health care system, it failed. Newt created a climate favorable for businesses to expand and create jobs and make a profit. John Kaisich also gets the credit. Willy LOL
Also socialist isn't the end of the world people! Your ignorance is! I can bet all of my savings money that not every man in that congress building can give me an in and out description of what socialism means. It is not bad, and these rumors are not true. Believe half of what you see and half of what you hear.
@TheEllipsis731, meh... I dont think we should do socialism till we get some money in our country though. What we do need is a cheaper health care system so people that can't afford the 30,000, but are still good people in society. I have personally talked to a congress man (he is actually pretty close :D) and he found my point to be true :d
It's annoying how so many people, both on the right and the left, don't understand the Constitution.
"All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives."
The president has ABSOLUTELY NO POWER in creating legislature and getting it passed. He can only kill legislature by vetoing if it passes both houses. But concerning its CREATION, he cannot do much.
True that. These parties are so stupid. I hate how the left keeps playing the race card and yet he still blames Bush indirectly. The dems have been in power since 2006.
@valentino1000 -the best president we ever had ? Are you kidding me ? He's further out there than Carter, lies more fluently than Clinton and spends $ like Bush on speed.
He could have been the best president of our time, can you imagine having a team comprised of people like Franks, Pelosi, Reid just to name a few. We need to fire all these fools before they destroy what's left of our once great republic.
No don't change our healthcare system. Its great being robbed blind by insurance companies. Its so gratifying when they turn down coverage, after you've paid them a substantial amount of money. Its also fun going bankrupt because you can't afford to pay the outrageously high medical bills. No please don't change this system, we love it!
I can't see how ANY american wouldn't be for healthcare reform, unless they're profiting from the current system.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I will not walk away from health reform... So vote for me in 2012 and vote for another democrat in 2016 & 2020. And Maybe just maybe once we get 100 democrats in the senate we will possibly maybe think about extending medicare benefit to people slightly younger.

Die health care DIE!!!
for those who say go health care have fun paying 1,000-3000 dollars a year (for some1 u dont know or a border jumpers), and that's not if ur in obama's corrupted stats control.
im not part of no insurance companies if i was i be laughing with money atm, but unless u want to pay +1000 dollars a mouth to a year for "free health care" have fun, i sure dont want to, look up the bad facts of health care and came back to reply
Umm...how do you know we'll be paying +1000 dollars a month? Where do you get that? (assuming you meant month and not 'mouth') No one said its "free healthcare" they said "affordable". In a universal system, everybody pays in, everybody benefits. Thats what many European countries do. They aren't in dire straights because of it. Thats not what this bill is. Its targeted at insurance and insurance company abuse. Why do you want the insurance companies to keep screwing us?
1 i did mean mouth ty for correnting me on that. 2 "free health care" were from u main man obama himself many times over, watch the news u'll find out, been up more then once. 3 not everyone pays thanks to obama's states (not all 50) they dont pay until 2018 and people are going to be FORCED to pay, its not a chioce 4 its not hurting the insurance companies a bit, mine is not bad . 6 i said +1000 mouth to a year, 7 affordable means unless u have money coming out of no where, i can keep gong
You still didn't answer my question. How do you know we'll be paying that much? You're forced to pay medicare and social security. Good for you, sounds like you've never ran into major financial problems dealing with medical bills and your insurance company denying coverage on a major procedure. If you've ever had to put up with that, you'd be all for reform.
I'm still not getting the healthcare plan I wanted. I want what Europe has where I can go to the doctor without my wallet.
i did answer it if u watched the news they talk about how much it will cost for ppl or just youtube it, i have run in a few financial problems, unlike some ppl i go to insurance ppl face to face and look into stuff unlike others who would join thinking of saving money when their not, ya u can go to the doctor if no wallet but thanks to health care their will be very few left down pay doc, sry to read ur not getting the healthcare plan u wanted, im pretty sure Europe has abit different then we do
"SEMI" (Southeast Mounted Infantry) has conducted TRUE polls in Tennessee and i can honestly say that the overwhelming majority of Tennesseeans do NOT want their healthcare put in the hands of the fed gov. there are already programs to help those that cant afford it and we see no good reason to turn it over to the fed gov even to a republican pres. and yes we asked that question in the poll interviews conducted. i suggest others do the same and go door to door. find out 4 yourself

Strangely, without meaning to, we the mainstream Democrats find ourselves representing this "socialist movement." However, for the "socialist" within our Democratic Party, there is nothing so strange about it. Socialist have always sought to leverage corruption for the sake of power.

Arguing will not change reality.
nafaidni 2 years ago
You know what I thought the republicans was alot tougher than they showed us today in the meeting with Obama, Obama knocked them back forth around and around today, they couldn't believe it! Go Obama Kick their republican asses!
Trendogg5 2 years ago
Of course, none of this will happen, being as "radical" is it is. People are too afraid of their elected representatives to allow them to effectively solve their problems. It is why health care cannot pass.
I don't feel the free market is a bad one. But it has tendencies to fail based on the bad decisions of a few people or groups with positions of consequence. When such failures occur, the perpetrators cannot be trusted by anyone with common sense or responsibility to repair them.
nafaidni 2 years ago

@elconquistador3000

@Chocobo012
SMELL THE GROWTH!"?
nafaidni 2 years ago
Of course, to repair the economy, you would still need to bail out the banks. It wouldn't be possible for businesses to exist without their loans. But it should be regulated like hell. Every dime must be directed to eliminating toxic assets, hiring workers, making loans, and not a cent be given as rewards for the grand failures of their leaders and decision-makers.
Corporations given bailouts, in my opinion, must look at themselves as servants to the country and remain so until all is repaid.
nafaidni 2 years ago

I see no reason a temporary state of instability cannot be used to end this recession.
nafaidni 2 years ago
Of course, the actions required would have to involve a temporary socialization of an economy. But I honestly think it is worth it. If citizens fought in the Revolutionary War practically for free (as the paper money they got would end up pretty worthless, and if they lost, it would have absolutely no value) to secure future liberty, why can't citizens temporarily oblidge to the government to restore stability and gain future prosperity?
nafaidni 2 years ago
He wont walk away from health reform . . . . . how else will he be able to tax the nation like crazy?
elconquistador3000 2 years ago
Traditionally during a recession, governments have used a lot of spending to overturn it. Adolf Hitler, for example, pretty much terminated massive unemployment by offering government positions to the unemployed.
This is a simple reality. Government, when used right, with its ability to print money and tax freely, can end virtually any recession. Doing this would make a conservative faint, with their policy of rhetoric over result, but it nevertheless is true and something to keep in mind.
nafaidni 2 years ago
People are so polarized but dependent, these days...
Worthless claims of how Obama is killing the economy when their speakers do not know shit about economics...
During a recession, the responsible course of actions taken WILL increase the deficit, one way or another, either by tax cuts or government spending.
Tax cuts don't work when there is a huge problem like this or when a single sector caused the problem. They're only efficient at accelerating existing growth.

TheEllipsis731 2 years ago

All recovery can be attributed to him. The massive tax cuts of the stimulus bill, its bailouts of the banks that let companies pay so many of their workers (though not executed efficiently), and its support of people already damaged by the recession saved the country from a depression.
And government jobs don't help a lot? So the army, the roads, USPS, Medicare, and every public works project it ever funded is useless, then?

"... Unemployment is still climbing"
And Unions = everyday working Americans.
nafaidni 2 years ago
The recession is not over... And the bailouts actually hindered the recovery of GM and Chrysler, which still went bankrupt anyway... Ford is already showing profits...
Unions have destroyed the auto industry, and were the reason that GM owed money for every car they sold... They have gone from a check against harsh treatment of factory workers to a political machine that milks the companies dry...
If socialism or progressivism created prosperity, Venezuela would be the wonder of the world.
TheEllipsis731 2 years ago
@TheEllipsis731
Facts are not worth a cent, there.
nafaidni 2 years ago
The bailouts prevented GM and Chrysler from going through Chapter 11 bankruptcy sooner (which delayed their recovery), which would have legally allowed for them to lower or drop their obligations to the Unions...
Also, taking the bailouts resulted in tougher regulations on emmissions and fuel efficiency, and the type of cars they produce, which had a negative effect because their most popular cars are less fuel efficient... Along with other loops they had to jump through to get the money...

@TheEllipsis731
Socialism is the use of the government to plan an economy and develop it in a way that creates industry, education, and improved human rights.
There is a difference between an attempt at socialism and actual socialism. Socialism is sadly enforced by moronic fools who seem to forget that regulating your people to death was something Karl Marx was deported several times in his life for speaking out against.
nafaidni 2 years ago
@TheEllipsis731
Progressivism is the reason of America's success. Not conservative tax cuts which were later repealed due to the massive deficit they produced. The country is largely great because of the Federal Government's promotion of industry, commerce, and innovation.
For example, when Franklin Delano Roosevelt nationalized (a.k.a. socialized) industry in WW2, America turned from a country of a few aeroplanes, armored cars, and a Great Depression to a global superpower.
nafaidni 2 years ago
FDR dragged the Great Depression through for a whole decade because of his progressive policies... WWII brought us out because of a huge demand for production of food and goods for the military...
Reagan's tax cuts increased GDP by 28% and caused the longest period of peacetime prosperity in American history... Deficits were caused by a Democrat congress that didn't allow as many spending cuts as he wanted... Along with the extra military spending for the Cold War...
TheEllipsis731 2 years ago
Reagan's tax cuts increased GDP by 28% and caused the longest period of peacetime prosperity in American history...
I believe you have this wrong.
Clinton policies led to the longest period of peacetime prosperity in American history...
Clinton's strategy of fiscal discipline, open foreign markets and investments in the American people helped create the conditions for a record 115 months of economic expansion. The economy has grown at an average of 4 percent per year since 1993.
susanbird1 2 years ago 2

MrTrajan69 2 years ago
However, under Reagan, the poor got even poorer at a higher rate, while the rich got richer. Another gilded age if you will.
tg72211 2 years ago
Slick Willy did nothing for the economy. What did he do? His first 2 years he had a socialist democrap congress that created huge deficits. After the repubs took over congress lead by Newt did things change. It was John Kaisich and Newt who slowed the rate of gov growth, nothing was cut. The tech stock explosion created many jobs, companies, profits etc, it was not slick willy. I ask you what did Slick Willy do to create jobs? Also how could slick willy go from total socialist policies to growth
MrTrajan69 2 years ago
slick willy had no fiscal discipline.

I'd take laizze-faire capitalism over socialism any day...
TheEllipsis731 2 years ago

But concerning its CREATION, he cannot do much.
nafaidni 2 years ago

Did you just make that account right now to act credible when you call the president a liar?
Pathetic.
Give me an example of one of these "lies"/
nafaidni 2 years ago
He broke seven transparency promises with the passing of the stimulus alone...
He is lying when he says he "saved or created" jobs, as it is impossible to calculate a saved job...
He promised bipartisanship, yet the Democrats have shut out Republican input in EVERYTHING...
He said he'd have the healthcare legislation on C-SPAN...
He said he'd cut down earmarks to pre1994 levels, but he didn't...
He said he wouldn't pass a bill with pork, but the stimulus had billions worht of it..

I will not walk away from health reform... So vote for me in 2012 and vote for another democrat in 2016 & 2020. And Maybe just maybe once we get 100 democrats in the senate we will possibly maybe think about extending medicare benefit to people slightly younger.

for those who say go health care have fun paying 1,000-3000 dollars a year (for some1 u dont know or a border jumpers), and that's not if ur in obama's corrupted stats control.

@Chocobo012 I DIDNT KNOW YOUR WERE PART OWNER OF THE HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANIES.
cesar333 2 years ago
im not part of no insurance companies if i was i be laughing with money atm, but unless u want to pay +1000 dollars a mouth to a year for "free health care" have fun, i sure dont want to, look up the bad facts of health care and came back to reply
Chocobo012 2 years ago
Umm...how do you know we'll be paying +1000 dollars a month? Where do you get that? (assuming you meant month and not 'mouth') No one said its "free healthcare" they said "affordable". In a universal system, everybody pays in, everybody benefits. Thats what many European countries do. They aren't in dire straights because of it. Thats not what this bill is. Its targeted at insurance and insurance company abuse. Why do you want the insurance companies to keep screwing us?
SillyCyban 2 years ago
1 i did mean mouth ty for correnting me on that. 2 "free health care" were from u main man obama himself many times over, watch the news u'll find out, been up more then once. 3 not everyone pays thanks to obama's states (not all 50) they dont pay until 2018 and people are going to be FORCED to pay, its not a chioce 4 its not hurting the insurance companies a bit, mine is not bad . 6 i said +1000 mouth to a year, 7 affordable means unless u have money coming out of no where, i can keep gong
Chocobo012 2 years ago
You still didn't answer my question. How do you know we'll be paying that much? You're forced to pay medicare and social security. Good for you, sounds like you've never ran into major financial problems dealing with medical bills and your insurance company denying coverage on a major procedure. If you've ever had to put up with that, you'd be all for reform.
I'm still not getting the healthcare plan I wanted. I want what Europe has where I can go to the doctor without my wallet.
SillyCyban 2 years ago
i did answer it if u watched the news they talk about how much it will cost for ppl or just youtube it, i have run in a few financial problems, unlike some ppl i go to insurance ppl face to face and look into stuff unlike others who would join thinking of saving money when their not, ya u can go to the doctor if no wallet but thanks to health care their will be very few left down pay doc, sry to read ur not getting the healthcare plan u wanted, im pretty sure Europe has abit different then we do
