i purchased my mt2 recently so i could drive with my friend and his brother. they both have monster trucks, t-maxx (i think) and savage, and had been driving theirs in a sand dune on their property. i went out, broke it in, and the next day i did nearly everything they did. the mt2 does have bottem out problems and suspension component failures from factory and OEM replacement. i fixed this a week later by ebay ordering aluminum hubs, a-arms, and other steering parts. probably around $100 more

i have the savage x ss 4.6 and the savage xl 5.9 but i also own the mt2 and in my opinion mt2 beats both savage easier to control and runs better at high speed just get the mt2 u wont regret it

Not sure if you purchased one yet or not but for what its worth I have 2 Nitro MT's and they are tough and loads of fun... I advise getting the high performance clutch set which is cheap. It will allow you to have a higher idle without rolling and give you tons more take off power. Also Stock up on dog bones if your going to be doing lots of rough driving. Also you will want to get the forged machined differential gear sets they are much better and last a lot longer. They are very fast too...

I'm in the same situation mt2 or trophy 3.5 and I am going for the trophy after using both I would say the performance and durability is alot better in the 3.5.

yeah i agree with masterzun15, the buggy is really low and your chassis will get all scratched up and junk....i have a mt2 and a redcat shockwave i personality lyk the mt2 way better becuz it has that duribility that i think your gonna need if your a beginner and havent really had any tyme to practice with another one ive had my mt2 for...........................­..about 8 or 9 years now and the only thing i have only had 2 replace is a broken spur gear which was on $10.67 its a tough lil thang!

well if u get a mt2 you might aswell get a rush evo cos all that power and only 5 mph faster tell me why also can get a rush evo cheap on ebay like 50-60 quid for a good one then spend like 100 quid getting it so its like new and probaly still get mony left over for customizeation if the rush evo hasent alredy also a mate of mine with his rush evo did this

tranmitter=no battery +no fail safe=brick wall at top speed no damage and hit funy angle but i would say get the 4.6 trophy cos looks good

mani have a x ss and it amazing on and off the track just got to get a good stering servo and a 3 speed and nubs tires take out the spacer in the shocks so it sits lower . i race a savage x ss that all decked out and i kill revos with big blocks

i own an mt2 G3.0. they are very good truck fast,light weight, super durability,and must part for traxxas trucks will fit it. the only down fall that i have is if you are going to race it and track does not have an outlaw class then they will most likely put you in monster truck class. no very fun because mon. have less of a turning then the mt2. most mon. are a little faster off the line but in top speed and turning you will beat them ever time.

the trophy is low to the ground ( not so good off road) and it is not as fast, but... it has better handle'n than the mt2! I would say the mt2 because it is higher off the ground and wont hit rocks or anything and it is faster! GO MT2 G3.0

the trophy is a buggy and is a lot heavier so it has to be low to the ground to have an even center weight and it has alot better handling than the MT2

if u r starting it is best to get a secondhand nitro coz it is already run in and will leave you with less hassle to get the truck/buggy running and if you buy things secondhand the sellers will usually include parts btw best to get a 2wd for a start

iv its your first nitro car i would get a firestorm instead coz they are only 2wd and when not iv you crash it will cost ya no where near as much to fix and will be alot easier to do yourself and dont forget a failsafe, i got a 4wd buggy to start with and had no failsafe and the reciever batteries ran low and it cost me £120 to fix!

I know it doesnt really answer your question, but if i were you i'd spend up to another £100 and get the HoBao Hyper 7 or even Maverick Stealth XB, MUCH faster, better chassis and very strong engines.

i went into a professional nitro and parts shop yesterday and they told me that monster trucks flip when you take a corner so i would recommend the hpi trophy (im getting it)its still got everything the monster truck has but it dousnt flip and has better handling!

I have no idea if the GT10 is good, I don't own one. All I'm saying I'd quite like a truggy as buggies sit low and it casues a few issues for me. Truggies are much more useable but buggies have slightly sharper handling, depends what you're after! I don't think you'll be disappointed with whatever you get, but personally I'd go truggy...so a GT10, Rustler VXL or if you have £300 to spend...a Jato 3.3 or Hyper ST.

I don't think there's much in it in terms of speed, both do about 45mph.  If you're interested in speed, then why not go for a Traxxas Jato 3.3 or even better, the Bandit or Rustler VXL versions......70 mph!!!

I bought the Trophy a couple of weeks ago. Has plenty of power and lots of fun. Only bad thing is as it's brand new I can't find anywhere that has spare parts yet. Not even the HPI website has a parts lis for this model. Sure that will change soon, luckily I haven't broken anything yet. It is however exactly the same as the Hot Bodies Lighning II.
