Griffey meant so much to everyone here in Seattle, When i was growing up here, Griffey was like an legend, and he still is. And to have him back now that i'm older is just awesome. Even tho now i live in California, i just hope I can get back before he retires....
I was born and raised in the puget sound area, saw the last games in the king dome, the first in safeco. Seeing junior play at safeco now with the mojo on his side is probably the greatest thing in the world. SODO mojo! i loved watching him tear the yankees up last week too (=
griffey jr in my opinion is the greatest player that will ever play the game hes an all around player he hits for avrg and power he steals (use to) hes a great fielder with a great arm griffey jr is the greatest
Junior never touched steroids. if anyone had ever even gotten a whiff that he did, a hunch, an inkling, it would have been in the papers. 100% clean. his dad taught him at an early age that it's about being the best you can be and doing the best you can. no more no less. greatest. of. all. time.
the point wasn't how good he was gonna do the point was that he was going to drive ticket sales and the fans would love him and he can hit for fairly good power (still)
its not about how well he does now, he kept baseball in seattle. Thats why we love him, thats why don't care about his performance anymore. He is Seattle's biggest hero. He will be the face of Seattle sports forever.
I think the baseball world would be truly saddened if Griffey or Jeter were taking that crap. As for A-Rod, or anyone else for that matter, I wouldn't be surprised nor would I care.
One last thing, even after all this time,I really think you'd be hardpressed to find anyone who swings the bat like Griffey Jr. He's always had the sweetest swing in baseball. Good luck in Seattle Jr.,you'll definately need it
That catch Griffey Jr. made @ 0:21 is one of the most unforgetable catches I've ever seen,it shows athleticism, hustle,& love for his team to put his body out there like that to make the play. Like everything else, there's a flipside. It's great to see him in Seattle again, but you can't help but think, wouldn't it be better if he was on a contender? If anyone deserves 2 have another shot @ a title,it's Griffey Jr.,& that's why I was happy 2 see him go 2 the White Sox last year because he had a shot
If Griffey hadn't been injured so much,he would've had a legitamate shot to break Bonds tainted record. Griffey Jr. is my favorite player of all time,& I'm glad he's going back to where he started because i don't think he should've ever been allowed to leave anyway. The Mariners used to have a great squad with Griffey Jr.,A-Rod,Edgar Martinez,Jay Buhner,Randy Johnson, etc. & it's a shame they won many games but never got to the World Series. It's great 2 see him in Mariners' blue & white again...
Smoltz isn't a traitor. Most Braves fans will admit he owes them nothing. Now had he signed with the Mets or Phillies instead of Boston, then he'd be a traitor.
I wish he had stayed healthy and been the one to break Hang Aaron's record instead of that roided up egomanic

It's really cool that his career came full circle and he got to begin and end on the same team.
