This song was above and beyond it's time...chills still 30 years later.. I love this song , even when i first heard it in 1973.... Fullness of her breast... Yum
THE BEST SONG EVER,i heard this song couple of times when i was about 14 or 15 and never new the title or the artist who sang it as it was in a mixed tape given to my brother , i was absolutely gutted when i lost the tape ,because as soon as i heard this song it touched my heart my soul my everything as the melody it's so sentimental and the instruments fit so perfectly together, since that time i always sang it in my head trying to remember perhaps should have listened to David Bowie earlier.
this brought tears to my eyes, the sheer beauty of bowie is amazing, the song is amazing too, there will only ever be one david bowie, thank you for posting this.

I don't need to say anything but if you are listening to this you are already a fan--David Bowie made me who I am--a genious an absolute total genious without doubt the best musician of our time and probably the most inflential musician ever- sorry elvis and beatles and even motzart .Bowie is the MAN
his influence can be seen in another lady, lady gaga. WAIT! STOP THROWING SHIT!
she has said bowie is a big influence on her not only as a musician but as a fashion designer. she says aladdin sane is an album she listened to constantly as a kid. people call her weird, but she is really her generations ziggy. even her gender has been called into question.i'm basically a rock guy,but gaga has unique style that commands my attention the way bowie did in '74. i hope she wins all 5 grammys sunday
This song is so incredible and powerful, one of the best ever. And the video is perfect, fits to the music! Thank you so much for posting it, this is my third favourite song, after Life On Mars and Space Oddity.
your all too young..I couldn't have got through my teens without David and I'm a big hard as nails fucker..he was my all time hero, it was all just a thing at the time and probably one of the better times in music
I agree, all the tunes on popular radio for the most part suck. I'm prob the only person in my graduating class who listens to David Bowie. Love his music.
Yeah - anyone who remembers Ziggy can see Lady Gaga's influences quite clearly. She's a breath of fresh air - rock and pop has been drab for so long (as Bowie himself sang - These blackest of years, that have no sound, no shape, no depth, no underground...) it's nice to see someone colourful and a bit subversive at long last.
yes, completely! i think that the "woman's" role of nuturing and caring and taking care of children is much more rewardinmg spiritually, and America at least was realled screwed over by the way it took the feminist movement. The new feminist ideal should invite men who lean towards the delights of childrearing and caring for children (and wearing makeup) to embrace these qualities.
it also allows for the needed ballance in society. gender roles used to be so cut and dry and now it seems that women can act/dress/be whatever they like and men are still expected to be exactly how they always were. this almost makes feminism into chauvinism, saying "we want to be more like men" is like admitting men are superior and are the goal that's to be strived for. i think men should have a movement where they try to be more "feminine". stay at home, cook, be fashionable...
exactly, instead of saying "fuck the world" he says "change the world". and it's certainly more brave of him to go up on stage in blue eyeshadow and pink lipstick, than it is to wear black eyeshadow and black lipstick like every other goth act in history. it's unique and inviting and tasteful.
yes, exactly. Its something missing from modern music that was incredible. this idea that you have to be angry to appeal to youth doesn't help anybody, it causes violence and is anti-art and anti-progress. Bowie looked to the future in an optimistic way, and asked questions about gender sterotypes and sexual politics, etc, etc. Wheras Marylin Manson or Rob Zombie are just incredibly negative and dwell on death, etc, etc. It's quite depressing.
David Bowie's charisma is in that he is completely strange and yet not violent or frightening or dark or satanic or angry. he simply exists in this very pleasant world of ambiguity.
That's true but Stevie Ray got totally pissed when he got no recognicion for the intro/solo/outro of China Girl...I love Bowie but he took the credit for writing that wrongfully
I fucking love how completely strange he is. Im like 21 years old, and this is the extent of my old music. Being the person that I am, Someone this strange draws my attention.
Hey we all were.Thats why when I was 13 I fell in love with his look I mean no other person in show business could use there looks like Bowie. He is Rock and Roll.....Fasinating is the word.Crazy thing these pictures are 30 years old and are as fresh as today's news....
i agree that bowie was the mastermind behind the music, but he was around since the mid 60s having attained very little until oddly enough, he met mick ronson. Why was this?.my personal belief is that david wasn't rocky enough, but mick put payed to that. Just listen to 'hang on to yourself' from arnold corns, and even moonage daydream. They were quirky little ditties until ronno got hold of 'em. I can imagine mick saying to david, look this is how these need to be played, full on rock nroll!!
Bowie being Scott Walker ish. #Bowie

yeah it should be equal in every aspect. Its funny how we can wear men's clothes, but when men wear woman's clothes, well its not very tolerated...
