nice, however it doesn't allow you to dramatically throw off your comm badge like they always do when they don't want people to find them or hear them. Also, you need to have some sort of GPS tracking in it so that you can be beamed off an exploding starship, so that we all think your dead, but as always you are in fact in transporter room one (needless to say it is pointless to have a 'transporter room' when you can just initiate a long range site to site transport). Anyway, cool comm badge. :)
@ag4147 If you get a small{U.S. dime size or slightly smaller} neodynium magnet and attach with velcro or sew a mini pocket on the inside of a thin to med. thickness shirt or you can just put the magnet in a pocket. Then make sure the badge has metal on the outside back of badge it should hold very well to excellent without pins. Neodynium magnets are several times stronger than conventional magnets. Make sure it works well if you decide to clip off the pins on back of badge. Good luck
is there a possibility of using the speaker in the original combadge backing to relay the sound from the phone? So the voice is audible to others, like on the show? For example, if the earpiece is unplugged.
@Destructor111 I thought about using the built in speaker but decided that I wanted to make something that could actually be used for a practical purpose not just as a prop. If you looked at my new vid you will see that I am looking at making a much cheaper option that I can produce in greater numbers. If your interested leave a comment on that vid.
boring...headpiece, big boombox under chest? wtf...i'll wait for a bluetooth headset version w/ a larger speaker attached for exact communicate like on the show
If you really want one then just say and I will make one for you. I make them to order. That does mean though that the cost varies a little from piece to piece depending what it cost me to make it.

I made the same thing about 18 months ago, the problem is that the speaker was too weak, but the idea is nice.

Well done! You obviously put alot of effort figuring out the electronics and logistics of making working combadges. I am very impressed.
