that was amazing man.turkey have such cean eye sight, and to kill a turkey with a bow and no blind is just unheard of. i must say you make all us bowhunters proud. turkey season opens tommorrow here in tennessee. im gonna make an atemp to do what you've done.
Nice shot! how far was that? im using the G-5 montec this spring as well, hoping all goes well for my first year of turkey hunting with a bow. nice job again!!!
Thanks Damico, my buddy shot the guillotine's and couldn't ever get them to fly straight? Might try the Magnus Bullheads this year, so much tougher, not sure they fly any better though?
insane congrats man...its hard enough to hunt turkey with a bow...let alone no ground blind....and screw the guy about the jakes and stuff....any turkey with a bow is a trophy...have you tried those guilletein broadheads?
good on u nice shot i was wondering y u were taking so long to soot i thought the decoy was real and dident know witch one u were aiming at but that was fantastic
Do I know who I'm talking to, now that's pretty funny in itself! Those birds obviously weren't coming to your call, they were headed to the roost, and you simply set your tent where you'd seen them the night before(going to roost). I've killed more than my share of mature toms, it's true that Jakes are much easier to call in, but shooting any bird from a tent as it prepares to roost is well.. No challenge IMO! You did make a good shot on the bird, but we both know the tent is kinda-like cheating
Hahahahaha. Yea, I just watched that other guy's video as well. "Do you know who you're talking to"? Well it appears a typically average and very possibly below average human being who believes he's extraordinary in some way. The kind of guy who shoot a bird from a tent as it appears to roost and believes that this constitutes some kind of real accomplishment.
jake slayer! haha Shouldv'e jumped on him, turned to the camera let him go and said "this is catch and realease!" haha We let jakes walk, but last time a jake came in with no blind in similar set up(no decoy though) we almost did that!
I'll have to post up the footage since I only got one hunt on here and you other KS boys are steppin it up!
Well jstunt, I'd like to see that footage! In defense, I'd say that after watching your video, just about any human could sit under the roost and shoot a bird from a tent. I like to hunt'em, not just shoot'em! HAHA!
huh?no need to be defensive guy, do you know who you are talking to?
I'd like to see "anyone" call henned up field toms over 700yards across a field that as you know I'm sure, always hang up about 90 yards out and strut.
I got over 40+longbeards to date and not every one is off the roost, so what is your point? And I'm not talkin about just a two year old either, OR a jake Truth is "anyone" can call up a jake...
*secret* I called those hens over, and that's why the tom in my vid died.funny guy
I have been looking for a similar video without any luck. The thing is I also tried hunting turkey with out a blind. Hard indeed. Even more, I shoot a recurve. I was up in a oak tree hoping to clear from the turkey's line of sight and to help my arrows fly truer for longer.
I called in a beautiful gobbler within very good range but hesitated to shoot because I shoot because I knew he could see me. I missed the opportunity but it was and awesome experience. A mouth call really helps. I had no decoys and was using friction calls so imagine all the odds against me.
Awesome!!!
