  • @forho2 look at whats going on with rap u can know what happened its easy to find out wack rappers geting record deals that dont have no talent. Thats whats going on and nobody wants to put real niggas on record labels becaues real rap wakes up people. The people who run the record labels fear what real rappers can say becaues they dont want another 2pac or others . Also rap today is done for the kids mainsterm rap is 100 percent commercial only real rap is underground.

  • Sounds like a Marley Marl beat.People forget about him when they talk about top producers.

  • @Redboy1ism The intro track("World Renown") is Marley Marl, "How Nice I Am" was done by K Def.

  • Maaan, Warner Bros. really had the tightest hip-hop roster back in the days. Too bad that most of the projects were never released. Peace.

  • @MuzikJunkyAES Yeah, they f**ked up when they dropped these dudes and the Bush Babees.

  • Thanks for uploading this video, really made my day!!!!! Been looking for this song for the longest!!!!!

  • bangin!!!!

  • classic beat, dope piano melody, nice lyrics, great flow...just real hip hop

  • It would be nice to stumble upon ANY golden age hip hop track and not find the obligatory "this was when hiphop was great fuck that soldiaboy shit" comment. We get it.

  • this is beauty

  • homie melek , mad props for posting THIS :)

  • Here's a funky introduction of how nice I am

  • This joint is on point like Gary Payton!!

  • Thank you Damu the Fudgemunk. I was watching the madd props mix he did and he mentioned world renown. this is my song man. I wish i was around when this came out. but im 15. • Where can I find the instrumental, please?

  • i want to remix this beat!

  • Just to think this was "norm" in the 90's, now I am kickin myself in the ass for thinkin' this would always be around - how naive I was. I would go back in a time machine just to re-experience this over again with a greater appreciation.

  • Woooo wheeee!!

  • "Now here's a funky introduction of how nice I am..." - Dope

Love this video, it's one of Hype's early works. ^^

  • @BranislavTheOfficial Yeah heard that in a recent interview with Seven Shawn(first verse) on the Dope FM podcast, I also heard Hype Williams wanted to cast Sev in "Belly".

  • Pure 90's dopeness!

  • the beat is sooo clean on this. I always loved this song. Forever nostalgic of a 5pm winter sun as rap city is about to come on.

  • i remember in mic geronimo came out i thought he was this dude. They simular voices, simular faces and he was sporting the same snow cap.

  • @Blastaar7 Funny I thought the same.

  • Real Hip-Hop!

Dope video. 5/5 stars and goes to favorites. :)

  • Comment removed

  • Dope!

  • I wonder if this is where Method Man got the idea for the "the mystery of Chess boxing" hook. "My peoples are you witt me where you at?" "In the front in the back killer bees on attack"! just wonderin 3:04

  • @pointblizzy Ah no cause "Mystery of Chessboxin" came out 2 years before this song did. :-/

  • Hmmm well maybe its the other way around

  • @pointblizzy What's ironic is I heard this interview last week on the Dope FM's MyPodcast page where Seven Shawn(first verse) bumped into Method Man at a music conference round' that time and Meth' quoted Sev's line from "Come Take a Ride", "I got the seeds and the wisdom, so I ain't comin' back".

  • that was times when hiphop shit was REAL shit, not that crap-rap like nowadays.. damm, nice upload, feelin this boom-bap fam! 5!

  • OHHHHHH, man. I remember taping this on video music box back in 95. I use to love these females in the video. Now this is real hip-hop unlike the garbage that they play today. I miss those days

  • classic

  • Seven Shawn was too dope to be in a group with a lyrically average partner. The song was fly though. John Doe didn't kick cheesy rhymes on this one.

  • Finally this has the intro of the vid that starts of with a snippet of "World Renown".

  • And if anyone has that "World Renown" track then its bout time ya get ya upload on! Please!

  • I made a remix of this track with a more serious sound, check it out on myspace, username is "lodeytunes" and the track is titled "Think Back".

  • the snare sounds familiar. could be from one of the LOTUG joints on the 1994 release

  • Maybe, they had the same producers on their albums,Marley Marl and K Def.

  • yeah they did. k-def probably liked that snare... it is dope no doubt.

  • This was my joint back in the day!!! Hip Hop classic's will always been as that!! Let's see how many of these new so called rappers will have classic's.

  • @95classof none will !!!

  • @95classof none of them!!!!!! and their videos aint gonna make the hair stand up on your neck either.

  • @95classof its a shame classic songs like this aren't recognized today when they are better than any bullshit that comes out today

  • @95classof

''Let's see how many of these new so called rappers will have classic's.''

    how about ''0''

  • @95classof Thank you 95classof. You're so right indeed. This is what we define as HipHop when we started listening to good hiphop music. Those new so called Cats cant top this one bit.

  • dolo whats this stic yo get at me

  • nice :)

  • mad dope classic!!

  • This reminds me of when tim westwoods show was great.

  • sample a tribe called quest

  • How do you not like this? All Around Quality.
