@MiSSloveish The posture tuck is using your lower abs to bring in your tail bone. Use the muscles just below your belly button slightly until you feel a tension in your back that feels like a push-pull feeling. I break down posture in one of my videos called "posture" if you would like to look at it. Posture is actually the hardest part to get down because your body will start to lose it as you're dancing. Just remind yourself every once in a while by placing your hand on your lower abs!

@kathyaaar9 HA! Yes you can be good at it! I'm a plus sized 22 year old, been doing this for almost three years! Everything takes time, even the skinny ones don't get it right away! Look through all of the dance community, you'll see that you're "size" isn't alone!

hi its really wonderfull.. i started from yesterday dats from 13th for me moving my belly was not so difficult but co-ordinationg my hands with my belly is very difficult but ill not leave but i have doubt when we move our hands towards up whether our upperbody will also shake?? please guide me with that..

try some slow isolations- keep your hands on your shoulders and just move your hips side to side really slow until you can do it without your upper body moving. Then try moving your hips backward and forward without moving your upper body. As you get better at it, try doing your hip movements more rapidly. It takes lots of practice!

I have googled and googled and I can't find anything simple and in a pastel color. Everything looks too hip hop, or has the shoulders cut out (which I don't like - I want my shoulders covered!). i am pretty good with the hip movements but as soon as i try to incorprate the arms i kinda get off track, guess i better work on a lil more, you make it look so easy!
@mommyrere14 Me too! I can twist fast or slow but as soon as i try arm movements, even simple ones, my twist turns into more of a lateral hip pop. I'll keep practing though.

I had a large tumor removed from my stomach a couple of years ago, since then my abs have been very weak (flabby), I seem to be unable to do the undulation due to my belly. Besides ab work, any suggestions to help make the undulation?
@Ladyhawkwright I am sorry, I am not familiar with your problem so I can't really help with suggestions... Hope you will get it soon anyway, and watch you health!
@Ladyhawkwright Hmm, you could try doing more work with the chest and hips. Roll your chest, like you would for a chest undulation, then move your hips in the same motion. I don't know if this will look like an undulation, but its worth a shot. Take care, and good luck.
I'm having trouble with moving my legs at the same time, but I'm getting there. Is there any way to integrate belly dancing into a dance routine for a fast beat song?

@crazyloverblue It should not hurt at all. I guess you are doing it too hard - try doing the movement small and soft, don't do anything you feel uncomfortable with.
@BellyDanceB Really? Because my belly really hurts. I guess I can't seem to relax it. It feels tights, as if I were doing belly exercises (like standing up crunches or something).
I'll keep trying. I mean, I'm getting a workout. But it it's not supposed to hurt then I guess I'm doing something wrong.

Only if you're not overeating since anything you burn with this vid you'll put back on with food. But it should help with building muscle tone, but then again if there's too much fat covering the muscle you wont even notice the difference.
The music I dance to is the song "Ra'etak" ("I protected you") from Hussein el Masry's album "Arabian Emotions". I don't know where it can be found, I bought it years ago at a used CD's shop. But you can buy a different CD of the same artist on the net.
You certainly do not need to loose weight (nor to gain weight) in order to belly dance. Just today I came across a wonderful video of a large dancer who dances beautifully.
As for the knees, they are soft, they do not move much but are not frozen.

I am not sure I understand your question. When I shift my weight to the right, I still step on both feet, or if I want to walk with the twist, I step on the right.

Detaching the leg from the floor in a relatively difficult movement and it is reasonably that it will take you a long time and lot of practice until you manage to do it. Go ahead and do the next lesson, and on the same time keep practicing on this one. It will happen soon :)
Your knees should be soft, not locked but not moving greatly. If you use your knees it might imply that your twist is not entirely parallel to the floor, try standing on your knees and practice the twist like that.

im really new to belly dancing and this is too difficult for me.i can't coordinate my hands and the twist and i can't do the shifting...any easier tips pls...really appreciate it.

This is really awesome.. the teachers in my area charge a fat lot of money and the classes are just 4 a month and too slow.. she hardly taught more than 6 moves in 2 months.. frustrating!.. thanks fot the videos.. they are amazing! :)

@crazyloverblue It should not hurt at all. I guess you are doing it too hard - try doing the movement small and soft, don't do anything you feel uncomfortable with.

@BellyDanceB Really? Because my belly really hurts. I guess I can't seem to relax it. It feels tights, as if I were doing belly exercises (like standing up crunches or something).
I'll keep trying. I mean, I'm getting a workout. But it it's not supposed to hurt then I guess I'm doing something wrong.

Only if you're not overeating since anything you burn with this vid you'll put back on with food. But it should help with building muscle tone, but then again if there's too much fat covering the muscle you wont even notice the difference.

The music I dance to is the song "Ra'etak" ("I protected you") from Hussein el Masry's album "Arabian Emotions". I don't know where it can be found, I bought it years ago at a used CD's shop. But you can buy a different CD of the same artist on the net.

You certainly do not need to loose weight (nor to gain weight) in order to belly dance. Just today I came across a wonderful video of a large dancer who dances beautifully.
As for the knees, they are soft, they do not move much but are not frozen.

ur amazing thnak u so much ,, i got a question : regarding moving to right and left while twisting, when u put ur weight on ur right foot u step with ur left one to the right? i mean it is the weight-free foot that moves 1st right?

I am not sure I understand your question. When I shift my weight to the right, I still step on both feet, or if I want to walk with the twist, I step on the right.

I love these videos! I watch them on the Wii so they are big on the TV. This movement is kind of hard for me and I cannot not figure out the exact speed.. but the next lesson I lovelovelove! Thank You SOO much!

I am not able to detach my foot from the ground and still do the twist, i have been practicing from 3 days. Can you give me more tips on how to do that?

Hi,
Detaching the leg from the floor in a relatively difficult movement and it is reasonably that it will take you a long time and lot of practice until you manage to do it. Go ahead and do the next lesson, and on the same time keep practicing on this one. It will happen soon :)

Is it okay if my knees move when I am doing the twist? I cannot seem to keep them completely still.

Your knees should be soft, not locked but not moving greatly. If you use your knees it might imply that your twist is not entirely parallel to the floor, try standing on your knees and practice the twist like that.

it's hard to move you'r hips side to twist you'r hips and move you'r arm's cause every time i do it i start moving my hips another way
