This guy was robbed of the Heisman, he was the man in college football. It was a succession of Tim Brown, Rickey Waters, Rocket Ismail, Jerome Bettis and other greats that were on defense. But ND has no respect anymore as a football program. They can't and will not get the best football players anymore.

They should not lower the academic standards, but then they should lower them. It's a no win situation if you know what I mean.

The cold hard truth is that there are few top high school recruits who are academically eligible to play at ND. ND just cant recruit the volume of next-level athletes that USC and Florida can because of the academic standard. Barry Switzer said it best, "kids today don't care about the tradition... they care about shiny facilities and starting as a freshman." I love the Irish but I dont see a way beyond the recruiting issue. Despite the gloom, that fight song is still the best in the land.

What is the frame of reference for "past"? SC won their only BCS title 5 years ago. Is that "living in the past"? Going out on a limb and saying that 2002 is considered the "present" for you.

He is so fun to watch and i love this episode/ great to see another side to my hero. I remember how i got to wake up every saturday and watch him play.
