Read: He was drunk as a skunk. Just look at and listen to him.

His speech, posture and vocal quality, not to mention his complexion differ greatly from when we first saw the man sober during the audition.

I can't blame the poor bloke, his wife having so recently passed, combined with the pressure of performing in the finale with so much money at stake. I'd have a drink too.

@jluchette Please may we bring to your attention John hardly ever drinks and if he does have a drink it is a Beer Shandy, please keep comments like this to yourself as you cannot judge anyone by a video. Try performing in front of millions of viewers? on National TV? it isn't easy.....
