  • Thanks for the upload, nostalgia memories ahhh all good :)

  • I feel like something is missing;

The crowd of silhouettes approaching in Dodgey City if you stand still for a few seconds.

The eye of the figure in the Caves is not white with a black pupil and doesn't watch you while moving...

    *gets freaked out*

  • @foxygabriella Yes, for some reason these computer versions weren't able to keep all the animations the Genesis version had, sorry.

  • Hold it, I thought this was played in Genesis; why isn't the eye of that cave figure moving. >:L I remember that it did in the Gen version... 'cause I was frightened of it when I was five...

  • I prefer NES version because Linus looks cutey than this version. And it have a great graphics on the NES.

  • It sounds better on the Sega Genesis.

  • I suddenly want this game's soundtrack.

  • This really reminds me of the Nintendo version, though easier to control and with more lively music, though some of the beeping is a bit... I also think I liked how Linus looked in the NES version better. Great longplay! Man, I really need to try this Amiga version someday though!

  • nice one ive just started doing a walkthrough for this myself for the sega mega drive lol.

  • OMG u are a massive LEGEND for this upload walk throw i av just sat n watched the whole thing sic it takes me back to my child hood thanks

  • I'm watching 13:15 and thinking "If you don't pick up any other Teleporter Key apart from the Dodgey City one - and then teleported there... would that break the game"... You're not forced to pick any others up and you cannot get back without another one... (goes to try)

  • @TheFlamingRedExtreme I tried that on the NES version, and it turns out the game lets you simply choose Use on the Teleport Machine itself to go to Old Lino Town, even if you don't have the Telekey.

  • @BagOfMagicFood lol i went to try it to after reading his comment and didn't read yours and yeah you can teleport back without a key. Time well wasted.

  • @huntergluck I think it doesn't work in the DOS version, though!

  • Yo Cubex I spent all day playing + recording tracks from Cosmic Spacehead on my Emulator, check out the few I uploaded, I'll upload the rest later =D I got all of'm

  • This is a top game i had it for mega drive

  • whats this bullshit icing sugar doesnt work like that

  • I can't believe there'd be an advert for another game within a game. Was that common for the Amiga?

  • Super old comment to reply to, but still.

This was common for Codemasters, not the Amiga. The Genesis version of CS has a Dizzy advert too. I also believe the Dizzy game has a Cosmic Spacehead ad somewhere in it, but I might be wrong.

  • Super old comment to reply to, yes, but you are actually right. I've since seen the gratuitous ads on their Genesis counterparts!

  • @Octospherics You're right, it doesn't...on Earth. Maybe it works differently on the planet Linoleum.

  • Personally, If I had seen somebody walk into the lost property carrying everything needed to make a bomb and the clerk actually gave them a missile targeting device to complete the bomb-making accessories, I'd probably call the police! XD

  • Good one VGRetro, you never cease to amuse me!

  • I actually remember this game on the Megadrive/Genesis...but got as far as the bumper-car race (this frustrated me when I was younger) and always ran out of time whenever I tried to complete it. This is the frustrating mini-game that introduced me to racing games around 1996 like Ridge Racer Revolution (PS1) and Daytona USA (SEGA Saturn).

Despite the fact that I STILL can't clear the mini-game after all these years, I consider Cosmic Spacehead a true classic. :)

  • Woot rock on, can ya help me find the Soundtrack to this? Ive been looking forever =[

  • "amigamusic com" might have it, otherwise google "exotica org uk"

  • Amigamusic . com won't load and exotica only has cover art =[ But thanks for the links, will amiga music load for you?

  • Doesnt work for me atm either, weird....

  • Hmmm, any ideas on where I could find it other than the sites listed?

  • This Is 1 Of My Favorites

  • I remember playing this as a kid, I got past the surfing, and got stuck. Had it for sega though, but still, I wanted to see the end, thanks.

  • Damn I never thought to search inside the teleporter to find a rubber plug! All these years I never got past that part =/

  • I have this game on my Mega Drive. It is great!

In the Mega Drive version, the music sounds a bit different; the music itself is the same, but made to sound different.

I may create a video comparing these Amiga sounds to the Mega Drive ones.

  • this game was so hard! it took me weeks to figure it all out. i particularily remember the big breakthroughs you made after being stuck for hours; like when you found the plug inside the teleporter. the dificulty was compounded by the fact i spoke very little english. one of my favorite games of all time.

  • I can't beleive I just watched that. The whole thing. I played this not long after it came out, but I was pretty young, still I did pretty good and got like 1/2 of the way.

I never ever found the surfboard. Other than that I did awesome.

And I think the first couple times I did it, I did the underground tunnel without the glow. Talk about trial and error.

  • How can you upload such a long movie?!

  • I loved this game. I just love the funky music in Formica City!

  • Just watching it through properly now - that whole bit with the Bus Stop sign and the Fire Extinguisher is new for the robot!

This also seems to be one of the less lenient versions where you have to collect 15 candies instead of 10 for an extra life. Also, like many of the versions, the tunnel to Linograd from Cape Carnival is different. The Megadrive/Genesis version was most difficult!

  • Otherwise, it's just minor graphical differences, like the bumper cars all being red, the lasers in Detroitica being all pink, instead of them being different colours.

Sadly, I can rattle these off without playing any other versions, haha.

  • i got stuck at the robot because i used a SNES/genesis walkthrough and i got confused ¬_¬

I remembered the time from when i didnt use walkthough though and remembered the bus stop sign :D

  • YOU ARE AWESOME.

This is possibly one of the most favourite games of mine. EVER.

    YES.

  • It's funny how there's only six or so people on the entire planet who will list this game as one of their favorites, myself included.

  • Definitely. And I don't see anyone else drawing Cosmic Spacehead as much as me. It makes me sad!

  • An artist, eh? Are you any good?

  • I'm not the best, but I just do it for fun, really. You can find me on Deviantart under the name MizunoSailorMercury.

In fact, if you go to my YouTube profile, the link is there!

  • It looks like my last message didn't go through, in case that did happen, I'll repeat myself.

I had expected your art to be kind of bad, considering that it's the standard fare on DeviantArt, but it's actually quite good. I've always wanted to make a sequel to Cosmic Spacehead, but I've always felt it would be difficult in finding suitable artists to help out. If I were to start such a project, think you could lend a hand?

  • I have the Mega Drive version, and that's one of my Top 10 favourites!
