i remember them at the civic theater in akron,, revelation funk opened for them , wow were they good i remember that show to this day***** dressed in there red devil suits spitting on stage ..
the bass player Robert Kreinar aka Bob Babbitt was a late era funk brother from pittsburgh
he played on i was made to love her , signed sealed delivered and most stevie songs as well as motown songs of late 60's early 70's Detroit musicians were judged on how well they could match his bass solo on this song
Especially for a kid. :) Anyone else remember when a FULL size Ring Ding cup cake was ten cents? When you could buy TWO bazooka gums for a penny? Man, I'm old. lol
Dave, you brought back so many memories for me when I read your post! I had almost forgotten about the Jammin' oldies party. Back in my SoCal days, listening to 93 KHJ. So cool... thanks man!
@PhiDeck Bob always was a Funk Brother, always will be... Sadly, Dennis Coffey was NEVER recognized as an official Funk Brother, despite his signature participation in many classic Motown recordings.. same goes for Bassist Tony Newton, Jamerson's protege, also never officially recognized for his participation as a Funk Brother... I know from experience - I was in Detroit those years, and worked with many of the Funk Brothers
I went to see them at the Uptown Theater in Philly with Jerry Butler and Brenda Jones her last concert

Great tune. Heard it the other night but couldn't remember the name, just that it was from '71. Glad I found it.

Skated to this at the "Rocket" skating rink in Dallas(Cockrell Hill), Texas in the early 70's! Great music and good times!

This used to be the theme music for the 'Jammin' oldies party' radio show. Anybody remember that syndicated program?
