Hi BSW, your videos have been really helpful. I bought a 2004 e46 M3 which has a Nav and the CD player behind the navigation system not in the trunk. I have a Dice Silverline Duo and want to instal it. Is there a different process behind finding the 3 and 6 pins for this model? Do I still need to get into the trunk for those cables seeing as the CD player is in the front of the car? Is there a completely different process to install?
Hey BSW, very cool video! I bought a 05 BMW 330xi that came with an ipod cable in the glove box already. Any idea if that would also be patched through to the trunk? Basically what i'm asking is the stereo plays the songs in alphabetical order, is there any way to get it to shuffle the songs instead? Or do you have any idea how i can toggle the settings with just the two buttons on the steering wheel? Thanks a lot and hope you understand my question haha
Hi, I have a e46 convertible with sat nav/tv(mk2) and cd changer in the boot factory fitted. Today I have upgraded my sat nav, with a mk4 widescreen with CD....so I end up with 2 cd-changers. The thing is, the one from the boot it's working and the one from the unit not, I already disconnected the one from the boot, but the front unit cd still doesn't work. what I have to do? Also, on my MK4 I still have the basic menu from mk2, do I need any upgrade? cheers
I have a 330ci and my trunk and rear seats look different. There's no pass-thru grommet that I can see. The convertible does have the pass through ski hole though. How do you pass the media bridge cable through in my case?
HEY BAVSOUND, although I didnt install any devices the part that explains how to remove the glove box was VERY helpfull. My lock was not working and couldnt open the door. After watching the video I could wedge the glove door just enough to remove the screws and drop the glove box. Played with the lock mechanisim and now it works great. Thanks.
by chance did you guys make an amp installation tutorial for the e46? just purchased a sub/amp package and want to freshen up on how to install it before doing so. haha
great video got few tips for install of a mediabridge in my 2004 e46 sport. I left 3 and 6 pint connector in the flap of CD changer compartment for easy access incase of reboot. cheers for great vid
@henrybmo2 : ) The grass is always greener my friend! But no we have it pretty good. Hard to say on the amp upgrade. We've got about 10-15 videos needing editing right now. The plug n play BSW amp upgrade is nearing completion, so maybe in a month or two.
@bavsound Good to know! Do you know any specs on the new amp? like how many watts? I love working on my bmw and have a ton of videos of installation...maybe I'll post em on youtube!
@bavsound Thats not that much of an upgrade from what I have...nonHK amp is a 200 watt and the HK is a 300 watt...when does it come out and when will you have videos of it?
@henrybmo2 Wattage is one of the least important specifications with which to judge by. Firstly many amps claim high wattage 300 watts, 3000 watts, etc. Ever wondered why a 40 watt per channel amp from the 70's was LOUD? We are going for clarity, slew rate, impedance design, etc.
I have an '01 330xi and would love to get an aux port to play my ipod in it. it has the premium HK 12 speakers system in it, without the six disk cd changer, but it has everything for the 6 disk to be hooked up.
do you think the easiest thing for me to do is but an adapter that plugs into the stock radio where the CD changer would plug in?
@bhenry2124 You've got a few options, and yes, they all plug into the CD Changer connections in the trunk. You can go with an Aux kit, a DUO kit, or a Mediabridge kit. Check out our site bavsound dot com for more information on each option.
