Loved this song from the movie, "Love and Action in Chicago. Life is a series of hoops of determination to find balance in our lives. With prayers and endurance we get a chance to learn from life's experiences and trageties. LOVE NEVER FAILS
I have been a Tempts fan for more years than I care to say, I cannot understand why this song didn't have more air play, I simply lov it! The Tempts are just the best male vocal group of all time.
@msjayelbee9 I noticed that from the jump, but it doesn't matter.......HIS VOICE IS HIS PICTURE:-) I'm sure the omission of a picture of him was not personal!
@coughdrop30...the writer of this song Porter Carroll Jr sung Hoops of Fire on Love & Action in Chicago..I believe he used to sing or work with Atlantic Starr.

does anybody know who sang this song for the movie "Love and action in Chicago"
I really would love to know. The Temps sing this well, however who ever is singing this in the movie I happen to like their version a little more. Actually that who soundtrack was great.

I'm sitting here on my third Hennessy, cooling out listening to this masterful cut and all I can say is "life is good". Ollie was incredible and thank God for this medium that his voice wil allways be with us. All I need is amayure women to share this time with!
ALI was my friend. Growing up listening to him with the Temps. I never thought in a million years that I would have the opportunity to not just meet him but work alongside him. "Shoot boy, you remind me of me when I was younger!" Those were his words to me. I was just and still is an ordinary person, not even known nationally, but to have him tell me that, is beyond a compliment. Rest in Peace Ali
Taking a moment to give honor & praises to the Heavenly Father for the "Gift" that was Mr. Ali-Ollie Woodson, my personal all-time favorite lead vocalist of my all-time favorite group, the Temptations. It is 3AM on the morning of 6/01/10, and I'm just learning of the passing of Ali the previous day. Memorial Day will now be even MORE of a time to reflect on lost loved ones........He was truly one MAGNIFICENT vocalist!
R I P in Ali-Ollie; we'll miss your voice down here, but heaven's walls will be leaning from the melody of you, Sam, Johnny and Mahalia! Thank God for blessing you with your talents and thank you for sharing them with us.
I believe this is GC singing lead on this one. Ollie had left and started appearing with the Tempts Review by this time, if I am not mistaken. If someone proves me wrong, I'm ok with that.
I've been a Temptation fan since the days of "My Girl", and I can honestly state, without hesitation, that Ali-Ollie Woodson is the finest lead vocalist (in my ever-so-humble opinion) that this historic group has ever produced. His gritty, raspy-throated, soulful vocal style simply took me to "Church" EVERYTIME I heard him. As much as I respected & admired the talents of David Ruffin & Dennis Edwards.........Mr. Woodson is the 1 who took me to "Church"!
Probably at the time this record was recorded, Ali was smoking at this time. This man beat throat cancer three times. If you notice on his later solo recordings, his voice is smoother, and stronger. He tells you about a herbal tea that he was drinking that aided in the healing of the throat cancer. His testimony is very moving. You can find it on my space.
Ali Woodson was, and still is an absolutely fantastic lead vocalist, one of the most underrated GREAT singers of our time. When you think of legendary vocalists like David Ruffin & Dennis Edwards, you realize that Ali had HUGE shoes to fill upon joining the Temptations. With this song as exhibit A of his talent, I'd say he filled those shoes damn well, wouldn't you?
Definitely! And his shoes will even be harder to fill for anyone following him. This voice is exceptionally soulful. He is one of the very few truly great singers.

Ali-Ollie was the lead on this one; his last album with the Temps was For Lovers Only; his pipes are unmistakeable.

Another lost 'soul god' is James Robinson, the lead singer of the band 'change'. Check out his track 'guilty' so under- rated
