  • awesome video dude. Really good. It deserves more attention

  • i would have liked it better if it ended on a note more like he would cope with his ocd with her by his side rather than her making his ocd go away; just seemed a bit unrealistic

  • thats whats im talmbout!!!! i love films where the loner gets the girl for being himself..... INCREDIBLE FILMS THOUGH MAN.... IM A FAN NOW I CANT LEAVE THIS CHANNEL!!!!

  • Are you from fairfield? btw the vid is really nice

  • I am, and thanks.

  • awesome...

  • I only watched your longboarding vids till today. Man, that was just mad. Great work you did there. I see great potential in you, young Skywalker.

At first I wasn't really sure, if the choice of actores was good or bad, but I think in the way I maybe thought they wouldn't fit, they were suited perfectyl.

Keep up your good work, I would love to see more of you.

    Also props for the lightning!

  • I have watched this about 4 times already and I'm still amazed every time.

  • I like the message. He prepared "perfectly" to meet Lily, but on the day where everything goes wrong he ends up meeting her and walking with her. I really liked the message, I can identify with it greatly.

Dialogue was weak, but not too bad. I liked it a lot overall.

  • you have an amazing talent man, keep up the great work my friend.

  • Mr. Griggs... that was amazing my friend.. I really do believe that this is one of the best little shorts ive seen in awhile.. great work

  • Major props to you man!

  • That was phenomenal.

  • mad OCD

  • good job. i just started my career path to filmmaking. this is very inspring. what kind of camera do you recommend in the $1000- $1400 range. the mini dv they let me rent out at school is just ok to work with and i have some extra cash to spend on a camera of my own.

  • amazing!!!!!! i love ur skating too hahaha, i was watchin all of ur longboarding videos, and i really was captured thrpugh the whole thing!!! excelent, 5 stars for sure!!!!!

  • That was absolutely amazing. I'm going to the Academy next year, you've made me both very excited and intimidated - this was a terrific film.

  • Thanks so much!

Are you going to interlochen this coming year? (2009-2010)

  • GEEK

  • Real great short film love to know the names and artists of the music

  • Look in the credits....

Orr you can look at the film information on the side....

or look two comments below you...

    is it that hard?

  • what is the song in the credits

  • not to be a mean or anything, but the song name is in the credits lol.

But fyi, its "ask the dust" by Korey Dane

  • where can i find his music to download, i cant seem to find it

  • his myspace is the only place. Or by contacting him... he's unlabeled so good luck

  • @skategriggs I looked in the credits for the first song that plays when he's doing his morning routine, "The pressures of New York City" and I can't find it anywhere. I know you get a lot of questions about this stuff but this is really important to me and I just love you're channel!

  • You've got some serious directorial chops my friend! Subbing. :)

  • Awesome.

  • cool vid bud

  • just saying. after he puts the roses outside and come back in through the door... the roses are back on the window sill.

  • uhh, no they're not, i guess it could seem like that, but they're really outside, but you can just see them through the window.

  • awesomeeeeeee!

  • the perfectionist part reminds me of the movie as good as it gets...good film :)

  • never mind! haha

  • what kind of camera r u rocking? just curious! great vid fo sho.

  • shot on a dvx?

  • Yes, look in the video info

  • when I started watching this I didn't think I wasn't going to sit through the whole thing. But I did, and it was great

  • Ahaha same here, i nver tought that i would watch it till the end

  • same here!!! ahahah, steve, this is brilliant, wow!

  • thats wats up bro.

  • Good work man. Will be looking out for you in another 10 to 8 years. 17 right? unfuckingbelievable.

  • Awesome, you are very gifted. I look forward to more!

  • This was nicely done. Can't wait to see the next one. :)

  • quality work, beautifully directed, filmed, and editted, also loved how the girl was slightly taller than the guy, makes for a nice little quirk at the end, awesome job man

  • he reminds me a bit of jesse eisenberg

    great lighting and sound

  • Interesting... and thanks! and thanks to my crew!

    Lighting: Aaron Tyson

Audio: Patrick Collier / James Choi

    Music: Korey Dane and Mogwai

  • Mogwai! great video man!

  • Thanks.

yes the label company for mogwai and the artist were very gracious in granting me the rights for their music.

  • loved the film, :)

    keep up the good work

    db

  • loved it

  • steve 0:28 ....i think someone was messing wit u r utube user.. (change password).....

  • Wow wtf. thanks for pointing that out. I think this has happened on a couple different email shit i have. So irritating.

  • how did you get your compresson settings to work so well? i would really appreciate it if you share your secrets bro. thanks!

and again, another great film and unique concept.

  • Umm basically just exported in Mp4 codec since youtube works the best with it. Then i had the data rate at: 5000 k/bits per sec to keep the video under 1gb. The the size was also doubled from SD to HD.

  • That was really good!! love the longboarding videos and this just shows that you can do more than just the longbording vids. But keep those comin too haha.

  • Gorgeous video dude.

Nice to know you do more then just longboarding vids.

    Which are amazing also!

    Keep it up.

  • This is so good! I swear!

  • hey man this is amazing

    great composition

    great soundtrack

    great lighting

    great story

    just overall awesome man!

    one question

did you use the dvx mic? or do you have a shotgun?

  • Shotgun absolutely, the DVX on-board mic is pretty terrible. We were booming from above on every shot, and the audio recordist was live mixing.

  • hey what do u prefer.

    the dvx100b or the hvx200

kind of a dumn question, but whatevas

  • Uhhh ive never used the HVX, but considering its HD, yes i do like it better lol. I mean the DVX and HVX are virtually the exact same camera, except one is HD. and it has a couple more features. So its better....

  • Absolutely beautiful film, amazing job once again!

  • Dude, awesome, amazing.

Loved the courage portrayed when he stepped out from his OCD, Courage to step away from his perfection towards a person he thought was perfect, ending the need to control 'stuff' like the door. At least that's what I took from the first watch.

    Loved it mate

  • Is it filmed in HD or just expoerted to 720p?

Great film btw! Good job steve!

  • Sorry, yeah it was only filmed in SD quality (720x480). I just exported it in HD 1080x720 for better display on youtube.

  • This is amazing. Every single one of your videos put me in a better mood.
