  • It's so sad!

  • This is very touching footage of the Swedish Sphinx. So sad to see her leave her friends and family to go on a voyage which took so long in those days. The accompanying music by Saint-Saens is perfect. This is the only newsreel I have seen of the great lady weeping.

  • She's sad.... and that makes me sad. Even though this is 2010.

  • The piece is by Camille Saint-Saens - The Swan

  • 1929 was the first she back to Sweden, after she went to USA,in that time Stiller and her sister were dead....and when her sister died she couldn't go to Sweden, they were close...When I see this,I always think that her tears is not only because she missed Sweden, but it's also because she thought about what she had lost...this video is very sweet and I would love to know what song is that too

  • oops,''1929 was the first TIME she back to Sweden...''

  • anybody know the name of that piece of music playing in the background,I would love to get the sheet music for my piano,it is so wonky and dated and such a period piece and would be wonderful to play in a kind of wine soaked fashion....and to MrPogle,(aka Erika)yes it is a very nice boat, but I got that one beat when I came to Canada on the Queen Mary..South Hampton to new york in only four days,it was the most elegant luxury liner of it's time back in the fifties.

  • @tequilaal It's The Swan by Saint Saens

  • What a lyrical moment, though Greta looks distressed. She is always lovely, but the real beauty is that ocean liner. Thanks.

  • THANK YOU!
