Thank You for this. Thank You YouTube and Wikipedia for helping me find this treasure from the 70's. Yes, I probably haven't heard this since 1978 or so. Yet, it made such a lasting impression. Thank You Steve and Steve and kkchelo. God Bless You.
This is one of those rare magical moments when the planets align and Steve Walsh and Steve Hackett write and record one of the most beautiful songs ever !!!!!!!!
Not sure if its first release but I have Chrysalis vinyl 1978 and I dont see anywhere on the sleeve that specifies who played on what tracks. Lists the players and below that songs and lyrics. Flip side of sleeve has slides (LMAO, noone under 40 will remember what those are!) stapled to a backing. I bought it for 50 cents in a used record store in Chicago around 79-'80.
That sounds right for a first release. I remember hearing this on the radio circa 1978. FM stations played it for a while, but I don't think it made it very far up the charts. Great song, though. One of my favorite "deep cuts".
steve had phil on this and racing in a, I have the vinyl as well and the sleeve insert has them both in the studio for these two tracks. the song listing states this.
Thanks for posting. Steve Hackett is on a short list of most underrated musicians of the prog-rock era. I try to imagine where Genesis might have gone in the 80s with him still in the group; maybe less pop and more substance.

Is that why it's called "Narnia"? Sorry I had to do that. Forgive me.
tonydominoactor 2 years ago
if you are familiar with the books and listen closely to the words, you'll see that.

I agree w cinemaverite. And the imagery you selected delivered some nice jolts in my altered state tonight. Time to have a toke and watch it again.
