SC cheerleaders were off the hook back then. Now its more the Oregon/UCLA girls who are probably the best of the PAC10. But I would love to do a complete study of all of em. I'll apply for a grant and get to yasss.....
Rule will be changed for 2009. But under 2008 rules, the violation is the failure of the visiting team to wear white or the home team to wear dark. I don't think a change from blue to green would violate the rules. A change from blue to white or white to blue would.
I understand you guys were pretty upset with us for wearing green in the second half. Notre Dame was pretty bad that year. Was USC struggling as well or was it just a bad day?
Coming off of a grand 1984 year as PAC 10 champs, and beating Ohio State in the Rose Bowl (85), expectations were very high. Notre Dame was better prepared mentally for that game. It doesn't matter if both teams have bad years. It is a game that you look forward to year after year. That day we got beaten by the IRISH because Notre Dame was ready to play. The fumble at kick off changed the momentum for us. The green jerseys gave your fans something more to cheer about!
yes, now that I think about it, you must be Tom or Tony because you were the only real centers on those teams. Very cool to see former SC players commenting on the games they played!
Hi Tom, it's a pleasure to talk to you! No, you don't know me as I was just a huge SC football fan as a teen back then and into the '90, and I remember most of the players very well from back then especially on The Line. I followed the teams in such depth all through the 80's and most of the 90's that I could have written a long book on it, seriously, hehe! Very cool to talk to you!
USC had high expectations going into '85 alright with an impressive '84 session and a lot of talent coming back, but they suffered some key injuries early in the season. Most noticeably O. Guard Tom Hallock and noseguard Tony Colorito who would certainly have been first team all Americans that year, and defensive team Cap/inside LB Sam Anno who was a real leader on the defense.
@tcandgc3 I was the DE who whippped your whole line that day...I want to say I had 4 sacks and 14 tackles...nevermind the two forced fumbles I had against you. We (the Irish) had a real easy week of practice preparing for you that week and it showed or we would of won by 40 easily that day. I was chosen by the Chiefs the next year so I think you squeeked by in 86. Played 11 seasons...(3 pro bowls)...can you guess who I am? Gary Greenhouse...#98
Borat? Did you just say that it was from Borat? That's even better! I think it is time you revert back to dropping the f-bomb in your replies. Articulate = Swear Words.... pause..... NOT! Did I do that right? From Borat..... I'm still cracking-up.
scbtnd doesn't even remember that Lou Holtz only lost once to USC in his 11 years at Notre Dame. This series goes in cycles. Notre Dame will have its day and then will see if scbtnd is so bold as to brag about SC.
Now you're bringing up Lou Holtz. Didn't he coach the irish before the internet was even invented. What does Lou Holtz tenure have to do with the fact that not a single Trojan on this year's (key word being this as in current) team has ever (as in EVER) lost to notre dame? You're raising games that happened last century. It is 2007 my friend. Beat USC, then start talking.
You know that your school (nd) is doing well when you have to rely on the accomplishments of ucla. Last I saw, this wasn't a highlight of a ucla game. Stick to the discussion - that notre dame has not defeated USC in five years! Maybe weezerguy812 got mixed up b/c of the poor quality of the old video.
More name calling..... Impressive. Let me get my point across to all of you irish fans one more time b/c I don't think u guys understand. Yes, notre dame used to beat USC, a long time ago, before teams used the forward pass. My point is that not a single member on the CURRENT USC roster has EVER lost to notre dame. Concede this issue and then we can all move on.
I believe they had the foward pass in the 90's. So you're saying that 10 years from now USC's dominance won't count? Stupid logic. We would have to lose EIGHT more times to match the Trojans futility from '83 to '95.
I agree, that would be stupid logic. I am not talking about the future. I am talking about current events. Five straight (which means current) victories over the irish and not a single member of this (as in now) year's USC team has EVER lost to nd. Please address those simple facts. I'm not talking about 1983 (TWENTY FOUR years ago). I'm talking about the here and now.....
actually they have beaten SC since the turn of the century in Crooked Pete Carroll's first season, Bob Davie led Irish laid the wood to them I believe it was 2001.
Oh, so it only counts when you are good. So ten years from now your wins over ND won't count? Typical USC answer. Your stadu=ium is empty and quiet when you are no good.
how about 4:45

How about posting some highlights from the last game so all these SC fans who want to discuss more current events can have something to chew...

Here is a question? If Notre Dame switched jerseys in a game, would that be allowed today or a timeout called against them (i.e.. USC/UCLA game)

Actually, I believe Sam Anno was injured the year after, which was a big loss since he would have been an all-Pac 10 player.
