You skipped The Aftermath, I think ... Also I think a reviewer must accept all the stages a band goes through. The band didn't want another Bruce, they wanted something new, so they chose Blaze, accept that and try to enjoy it. Btw, The Sign is one hell of a masterpiece, the instrumental part is Maiden's best IMO.
I respect your opinion but personally, I like "The X-Factor" and "Virtual XI" more than "No Prayer for the Dying" and "Fear of the Dark" and their more recent albums. Both Bruce and Blaze are amazing singers with different styles. I think Bruces high and positive voice wouldn't have fit with the dark mood of this album.
The X Factor wouldn't be the same without Blaze. He's a FANTASTIC singer - and whilst your opinion of the album is personal - you can't justify the fact that he's a poor singer. Listen to Silicon Messiah - then come back.
one of my favorite 90's Maiden albums, Blaze does an awesome job on this album, and i respect him for keeping Iron Maiden alive during this extremely turbulent period.
I think you missed something when listening to this album. You missed the real effort the band put into those songs, you missed all the emotion portrayed (although the production didn't help), you missed the musicianship in a rather unjustified attack on Blaze (if you thought he was the worst choice for maiden, picture Ozzy or some Death Metal Guy singing) I personally think of the X Factor as a dark masterpiece, just like AMOLAD. I think that, like Powerslave, you should reconsider this album.
Your reviews sucks, sorry. Here's my ratings ( /5 ) Sign of the Cross : 5 Lord of the Flies : 4,5 Man on the Edge : 3,5 Fortunes of War : 5 Look for the Truth : 3 The Aftermath : 3,5 Judgement of Heaven : 3,5 Blood on the World's Hands . 3 The Edge of Darkness : 3,5 2. A.M. : 4 The Unbeliver : 3 Album : 4,5
u missed out The Aftermath, cmon its not that bad an album, sure Blaze weren't as good as Bruce its just different, but i still like your videos :P and who is Spencer?
dude, i think ur a Little to harsh on this album. and on blaze too. just because you can't stand his voice, doesn't mean you should rate this as a number 1 out of 10. i rate it 5/10
this cd was at a store near my house, and i was planning on buying it, but when i went there to buy it, it wasnt there anymore, so i bought an Alice in Chains album which is awesome too, but i really want this album just like all the others, Blaze is good, but Bruce is better, still, all Iron Maiden albums are great for me
i have to dissagree with your rating. it was rather hash fro my taste. i think bayly has an ok voice. it's obviously not even near the neibourhood of bruce's voice but he's the perfect man for the job here. his voice merges perfectly with the dark tone of the album. i happen to think it's better than no prayer and fear of the dark. of course, it's just my opinion, i'm not criticizing yours. take it easy.
i dont quite understand your review on this album... you slate it and slag it off to fuck but there are only 4 songs on the album that you disslike... you dont make any sense whatsoever... its worth an easy 6 out of 10.
interesting fact - the X Factor album peaked at number 8 in the UK Albums charts while Virtual XI only reached #16... the lowest charting and worst-selling Maiden album of all time =/
you see steven, If this was made by Bmth it would be 10/10 since it'll be there best work ever, but since it was maiden and back in the day I can picture how much of a epic fail it was XD
lol BMTH wouldnt even be able to come up with this, no matter how bad Blaze is and how much he tried to destroy Maiden, he is a God compared to that little cunt Oli Sykes
Blazde is a bad man XD he sorted his head out a bit in virual XI that review will be a bit higher rated to I'm mainly looking forward to brave new world onwards.... oooo korn are next... but if you really want I'll do the cure insted ;-P
Seventh son was the last Maiden album I had until Brave new world came out. They are my #1 band. I listened to Bruce since his days with Samson.

I think this is a great album. You just say its "wank" because Blaze is on it. Thats one section of the album. The song writing kicks ass!

you give it one star but you actually liked most of the songs on the album lmao XD
they should remake this whole album with Bruce instead =P
monstersocks72 2 years ago
I like maneater but I wouldnt rate it 10/10 XD and bruce proberly makes fun of the rest of the band for making this album
thereturnwoo 2 years ago
i didnt say you should rate it 10 lol just not 1, thats a bit harsh
a 1 star album would be a complete arse from start to finish, with nothing on the album that interests you whatsoever

please do not do the cure lmao XD
and the korn reviews may get a bit boring as you cant go into as much depth about them as you can with maiden, as there isnt as much to the songs lol

but theres alot less to do really and they'll be spread out... Looking forward to the yearly xmas special spencer?
