@THELDSLIFE I do understand. I must say I don't think XBOX is the major distraction and While the Internet is a wonderful source of information... it is also a source for deception as well. I think there are many major distractions in addition to becoming a me me me society without moral compass for life. At a time, every action was with a thought of God approval... nowawdays... Go to church for an hour and then all rules out the door for the majority, except for the ocassional remembrance.
@di4homes - As men begin to come to the realization that God is literally a Father in Heaven, then knowing what it's like to have the approval of our own Earthly Parents takes on a different meaning. I believe we existed before we came, we are here for a reason, and a destiny that awaits us for after we die.
@THELDSLIFE Perhaps I am wrong but I think most people of the book believe that God is the Father in Heaven. I absolutely believe no free ticket to heaven.. it is based on faith and actions... it really doesn't make sense otherwise.... and I can also believe in levels because some are much more pious than others.
@THELDSLIFE I will say... not sure why rituals are so guarded with secrecy... still trying to figure them out... I understand cleansing before you take a oath with God but one of the sources had said someone washes you... Is that true? that does not seem right for God likes us to be modest... the only one that has the right to see your whole body is your husband...
I like to read comments so I can learn more but I am going to try to reframe from that in the future. The ugly words are too much to bare.. Perhaps that is why God has allowed the Mormons to be so successful. Deeds are in the actions of another. While I believe God loves and rewards those who teach about him, show charity, love and follow a good path.... I don't think he is impressed with uglyness and venom that spills out of the mouths and even ones speech can be considered a bad or good deed.
@di4homes - there are many reasons why we are successful. We believe in what we believe and we have cause to believe it. The Mission and Destiny of this church will one day be understood and the path towards eternal life is a good path. Will all men discover Jesus Christ and his role or even our roles in the plan of salvation in this life? Not all will. Too many distractions. With computers to increase man's knowledge as this knowledge floods the earth, unfortunately there's also XBOX.
@Reazzurro90 - The mission is not mandatory but all young men who wish to serve missions but can not afford to do so may make arrangements with members of the church. My Dad has helped to pay for several young men to assist in serving their missions. I saved up to or over 1/2 of my missionary fund, to go... it was an experience that I will always appreciate.
With all due respect - Mormons are nice people, they should be free to have their religion, etc.
However, they do not fit the definition of Christian. They reject the classical definition of the Trinity, they are essentially Arians, and believe in a plurality of gods.
You can believe that stuff, you have a right too - but those beliefs put you outside the orbit of Christianity. Belief in a "Christ" isn't sufficient - it must be the same Christ. For the same reason, JW are also not Christians.
Mormonism is a lie out of hell filled with disception from it's origin. Googel Sandra Tanner, great,great grandaughter of the infamous Brigham Young and review documented criticism from her on the wicked lies of this demonic religion.
Almost convincing, almost close to "good", almost "holy", almost "perfect", but SO far from the Lord Almighty Jesus Christ, the Savior, ONLY God there is! Mormons are so deceived by this "beautiful" religion, but beneath the surface, LDS are so full of themselves, thinking they can be perfect, so many heresies and blasphemies. I love all Mormons, but I hate, in fact I resent the religion and its false teachings. Jesus is the only and sufficient way (John 3:3)
@adalbertomodesusa - we are almost good and almost holy as saints of God but until we have the blood of the atonement, which activates salvation, we are hopelessly caught in the snare that keeps us from obtaining salvation. You are preaching to the choir...
The facts are that this organization is a giant cult! Most who claim to be mormon don't even know the history of their own church, Brigham Young the second "so called" prophet was very racist and taught that white mormons who marries the Nigro race will be ex-communicated from the Mormon Cult!
My best friend is mormon. Though I am a biblical Christian, ironically, I know more about her religion than she does. Some of this commercial is a falsity. If the mormons didn't believe in polygamy and don't consider them part of the church then why did they have three sister wives grace the front page of the magazine 'mormon Focus'? And why didn't they mention the fact that The church of latter day saints is willing to change their entire doctrine in the face of the civil rights movement?
@HtodazzizzaDMC - some miss the point and in a word, have gotten history wrong. The Civil Rights Movement was helped out, largley in part, by the LDS church. Our church was the first to admit "Black Americans" into their congregation long before the movement took place. Joseph Smith also began his run for presidency and part of his platform would be for "Equal Rights" for Blacks. What most confuse is that the priesthood as a right vs a privilege. Not all were privy to the priesthood. Not a right
@THELDSLIFE ,,not true mormons didnt accept blacks and you know it,,,they barely let blks in their church,,77,78,or 79.dont really know,,,but very late
@Moparfuriousgirl - I wasn't looking for your naive opinion but Black men and women have been a member of our congregations since the restoration took place or wherever it was raised up. Since the 1830's and wherever it would be established... and in such racist states such as Missouri, which was one of the "LAST" hold out states from the Civil War era between the "North and South"
Governor Boggs wanted to expell Mormons from the state as well because he wanted slaves there.
READ THIS URGENTLY: We have been lied to and many things we have been taught have been lies. Many of the things we have been taught are not even backed by Scripture. If you are a truth seeker then check out the site in my user name and listen to the audio there. You will be shocked and you will come away asking many questions I guarantee you that. There is many wicked leaders and teachers out there that are leading good people like you down a dark path. Thanks
@2besavedcom - according to whom? Yourself? A website? I put my trust in God.
(See 1 John 5:9, James 1:5-6) - And usually when someone says they "Guarantee" something, it's the seeds of deception because humans can not guarantee anything!
Moses... Eljiah... and many others in the Bible had their "Callings and Election" made sure. An entire city led by Enoch were exceedingly righteous, unlike us, and for this were brought home early so I'm really not sure why this would be so far fetched to occur in our day. Unless you believe life is defined by our pain and suffering and getting to heaven must be a hard thing even with Christ.
I notice he still hasn't provided the biblical reference to this "City of Enoch"....must be too much of a challenge for him. Maybe you can help him (doubtful)
@Jack44M Does it matter? You won't take it into consideration anyways. You worship your ink and paper that was put together by vote by a group of men. I can guarantee there are other "holy books" other than your bible simpleton.
You can't seem to locate the biblical reference to this City of Enoch. How about one that shows where someone guaranteed Moses and Elijah's exhaltation into godhood. Of course Mrs. Moses and Mrs. Elijah would have to be included in the ceremony.
Jesus is God, and thank you so much for giving me eternal life with the heavenly Father. If it weren't for your sacrifice on the Cross, I would be in continual sin and death. By your love, blood, and sacrifice I am a New Creation in You!!!!!!!!!
Rather disingenuous to say Mormons don't practice polygamy and ended it over 100 yrs ago. Joseph F Smith admitted to Congress in c1910 his practicing polygamy. He wrote, and I posted, "Blood Atonement and the Origin of Polygamy",1905, as a debate with RC Evans, Bishop. He lost the debate, lost faith and wrote "40 yrs in the Mormon Church and Why I Left" Also posted. Polygamy lasted until c1915, then the hammer came down. FLDS adheres to all of JS original teachings. LDS is in Apostasy to itself!
@THELDSLIFE Well, anything not Mormon is in apostasy. But FLDS does adhere to all the original doctrine as taught by JS In the "True and everlasting Restoration". Did I mention my mom was Mormon? I never really knew it until recently! what a world.
There is much about our history that we do not understand... but not even Ancient Israel had the greatest track record. If anything is true about the people of God is this... they have constantly been inconsistent.
God did not remove his covenant anciently. Why would he begin doing this now?
@THELDSLIFE "God did not remove his covenant anciently. Why would he begin doing this now". What do you think "New Testament"/"New Covenant" means? Christianity is the end of ritual animal sacrifice, the end of compulsion to Jewish law like circumcision. Read through Romans and reference from there.
@IExposeMormonism - yes wonderful... that was the same problem that Paul had with Peter and was spoken much about in Acts, Galatians, etc... but that's besides the point. It's either the Catholic Church or the restored gospel as one of the only two churches... or neither. Heck, everyone has an opinion... even on the scripture about having only one lord, one faith, and one baptism. Although I would typically one may suggest that it has more to do with there only being one way.
"We're normal people just like everyone else, we have a faith in Jesus Christ and we're happier for it," Tayler Munguia, a Mormon missionary from Texas who is working in South Bend said.
Munguia's work is typically the way the church spreads its word by sending missionaries door to door. He hopes this new approach will help change the way people view his faith.
A Mormon advertising campaign is targeting South Bend with television commercials. It's called the "I'm a Mormon," campaign and it started on Monday. The church-led campaign is paying for advertisements in 12 cities throughout the country, including Fort Wayne, Indianapolis and South Bend.
@Sm0k4bl3 - @ 4:45lol um YEAH, he's Steve Young dude! He had a script because he's LDS and an Ex Football player... lol Are you serious? @ 8:54 ... um yeah, who wouldn't know that it was staged. Would you think that someone was just randomly talking to a camera when a couple of missionaries had just decided suddenly to show up?
@THELDSLIFE This video is just bullshit i heard only bad things about mormans this is just a desperate attempt to get more people on their side. Rofl look at the sidebar you dipshit, all people that LEFT the mormans, because you're a bunch of retards together. Go hang yourself please.
@MrNayetrus Revelations 22:18 confirms our need for the priesthood and continuing revelation from God to the prophets. Another good example of the truth of the Book of Mormon is D&C 20:35 (35–36).
@MsEndure2end Everything in the book of mormon is nothing but rubbish, false teaching and totaly against the True word of God in the Holy bible.
your very own prophet "Gordon b. Hinkley" clearly states that he does not believe in Jesus Christ of the bible but in reality a jesus of joseph smiths imagination.
you can be mad at me all you want but you can't argue against this. your own prophet said it.
@MrNayetrus Whoa! I'm not mad at you because I disagree with you. In fact, I AGREE with you about what the Prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley said about a "different" Jesus, a logical statement because The Church of Jesus Christ believes in BOTH the Bible and the Book of Mormon. So when BOTH scriptures are considered, there is an added, and deeper knowledge of Christ. You're fine with your belief only in the Bible; however, I believe that means you accept only half of the story of Jesus.
@MsEndure2end - he only appears different to them because he is different from the Jesus that their pastors describe as "Jesus Christ" should be. He is not different. The only difference is in the understanding of WHO he was and MORE regarding his mission.
@THELDSLIFE Yes. As you said, the difference is in understanding. Since Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever, it's obviously people that change as knowledge is gained. By only reading the Bible, the complete story of Christ is missed, just like reading only the first book in a 4-part series. I feel so thankful for the restored Church of Jesus Christ, and living prophets.
REAL Christians don't believe Jesus is the literal son of an exalted man. REAL Christians don't believe Jesus is the spirit brother of Satan. Cults believe such garbage.......
@Jack44M - it's obvious that people with this lack of knowledge have a very naive knowledge of the Bible because the Bible surely speaks of a pre-mortal life, a war in heaven, a separation of those who are or were at one time considered children of God and who were cast out, and surely without prophets men are left to fend for themselves regarding truth. Mormons do not claim to know EVERYTHING about the plan of salvation or eternity but thanks to Modern prophets, we DO KNOW much more.
Oh yes, you do know much more because of your "prophets".....including what you consider to be false doctrine. In Mormonism, yesterday's truth is today's heresy.
Mormonism starts with it's belief and then searches the bible to find single verses to provide proof texts. When in fact, when taken in context, the bible refutes Mormon doctrine.
@Jack44M - sure, Go back to Revelations. Let's clear this up. Because it's driving me crazy how you don't know this. See Rev Ch 12:1-5
Who did Satan draw away from the heavens in that Great war in heaven? Some ghostly mists of spiritual beings unworthy to have ever been considered creations from GOD? Or were they fallen angels, at one time with God, along with us, in the pre-mortal realm?
Then go to Job 38:4-7.
PLEASE tell me you know that Stars are representative of "Pre-Mortal" Spirits!
You are reading WAY too much into scripture; but that's normal for cults. Go to Paul's epistles and you'll see he consistently states that we are children of God BY ADOPTION. If we are the literal sons of god there's no need to be adopted. In addition, Paul explains very clearly in 1 Cor. 15:46-47 that any such notion of preexistence is false.
It's only false doctrine because it disagrees with you. It is false because you believe it is false. But would you dare to find out if it is true or not? Or will you rely on what others have already said putting NO trust in God to possibly clear up the matter?
It's false doctrine because YOUR prophets stated it was such. Young clearly taught Adam-God as doctrine; taught it in General Conference, and taught it for YEARS. Now, your church tries to downplay it as "theory" and labeled it false doctrine. Now, those that followed Young believed in false doctrine and the prophet led them astray.....something your church claims is impossible.
It's the same with the nature of God; your scripture and leaders contradict each other
The BofM is real.....it's a real 19th century novel based on the View of the Hebrews, plaguerism of the KJV of the bible, and contemporary religious themes of the day. All have been well documented........
Smith had over 5 years from the time he announced the supposed angelic visits until the book was published; plenty of time to concoct the BofM
@Jack44M Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. Bless him for his efforts and sacrifices to restore the Church and serve God. May I say that your comments sound bitter, and misinformed. If I felt that bitter, I would avoid the You Tube site.
"Bitter"?...lol Far from it. "Misinformed"...Hardly.
May I say you seem to be rather slow witted and easily deceived. I suggest you take a step back from the cult's propaganda and think for yourself. Eternity is a long, long time for you to spend with Smith and Satan, your spriit brother. But, there's still time for you to learn the truth.
@Jack44M Your comments would make me laugh if they were not sacrilegious. I'm sorry for you that you have rejected the gospel, yet I have a healthy respect for freedom to choose. I love the Lord, I am blessed to belong to His true Church, the Church of Jesus Christ, and happy to live in a wonderful country that allows the sacred gift of freedom of religion.
Incidentally, I much prefer commenting with people with good manners enough to stick to the subject and refrain from resorting to insults.
...what a pathetic hypocrite you are. Typical of Mormons to divert from the facts of your cult and attack the person; then whine when it comes back. lol It was YOU who made comments of a personal nature (bitter and misinformed). If you can't handle the response....tough.
Just because you tried to sugar coat the personal attack doesn't diminish your tactic. What's next from you....resort to the usual pejorative "anti mormon" to label the critic?
@MrNayetrus - Revelations 22:18 - Must read in context and have a basic knowledge of New Testament Chronology...(Would also be nice.) - Revelations was not the last thing written in in the New Testament and some scholars think that John wrote Revelations before he added his Testament of Jesus Christ and wrote one of the Gospels. Seriously, come at us with something intelligent other than something others have told you, without power. God is the same yesterday, today and forever is he not?
Christianity in general when it first came about was labeled a cult. Every religion started as such.. People often hate what they can't live up to. So talk your shit.
@801Jord - I have never had a problem with the word CULT.
Cult is a shorter word for the word "C-U-L-T-I-V-A-T-E"
Followers of Jesus Christ, through faith and works, cultivate a life for themselves that either mimics the master himself or a more "Christ-like" life through meaningful service.
And there is something to be said about those who can't live up to it.
People quit this church because they deem it a "hard one to abide by or follow."
Quitters don't usually need a reason but provide one.
mormons are not christians ... there a fuking cult ... they are all crazy and will do anything to kill a homo sexual .. there has been so many reall life events in history about crazy mormon people who have kept people hostage and killed them because they were homo sexual .. there all sick in the head
Why aren't they? All christian denominations are a cult... so if they are not christian then the chances are they are not a cult... You can't have it both ways.
I think you are a crazy homosexual that is talking trash.
Beautiful video,, I've started attending the LDS church services on Sunday and I am very happy that I started,, There are so many lies on the internet trying to discredit them and when you begin to investigate the church you find out that they are just from people who don't want to follow the Morality that the LDS church follows and represents.
@THELDSLIFE so you read the book of mormon and KJV bible but what the book of mormon says contradicts the bible in that respect. and if they are both gods word how could they contradict eachother if god is a constant.
We'lll that and when you show them comparable "contradictions" in the bible... they dance around and justify it... There are huge double standards among modern Christians.
@ParanormalParaquad lol yea that was a funny episode, but at the same time it had truth in it. They pretty much stuck to the story of this guy and It's sheer lunacy that these ppl actually believe this man found these plates (which he could never seem to produce by the way) matter of fact he never had proof to back up anything he said yet ppl believe him And if he was a prophet of God why is he not mentioned in the Bible or Quran..Personally I think he was schizophrenic and couldn't be treated
@kandikane021 - what if he was in the Bible and someone decided to take the reference out. We're trusting the scholarship of scribes who lived over 500 years ago or possibly much further back in the past. What we got was an incomplete record...
@THELDSLIFE yea but Everyone who was doing God's work and that he personally chose is referenced in the Bible and Quran. This dude claimed he saw God and Jesus and all the prophets and the angel Gabriel...First of all God shows himself to nobody and if the most important prophets like Jesus,Abraham,Muhammad and Moses never saw God then what makes this dude so special?
@kandikane021 I disagree with your opinion. When a comedy T.V. show wants to make fun of something, they exaggerate what really happened to the point where what they are saying is false. A lot of what happens in that South Park episode is false, and I would know because I am mormon.
@ParanormalParaquad well from what I read about the man it seemed like they were dead on I mean come on this guy claims to have golden plates that he never produced and claims to have seen God and Jesus and Angel Gabriel ok FIRST of all wrong because GOD shows himself to no man and if HE didn't show himself to any of the prophets, Moses Abraham, Noah, Mary or Jesus Christ what would make this dude so special that God would show himself to him....BOLONY!!!
@ParanormalParaquad Funny thing is that South Park dissed and DEFENDED the LDS chruch. Remember the end when Gary told off Stan. South Park disses everything and people shouldn't go off what they say as pure fact, but humour/satire.
FREAKY ASS CULT. I GREW UP IN THE MORMON TOWN AND 20 YEARS LATER IN A DIFFERENT PLACE THEY STILL GIVE ME THE CREEPS!
JOSEPH SMITH WAS A CHARLATAN WHO WANTED EASY MONEY AND TO FUCK A LOT OF WOMEN. BACK THEN THE DIDN'T HAVE CRAIGSLIST CASUAL ENCOUNTERS, TO DO THAT YOU HAD TO START A WHOLE NEW FUCKING RELIGION!
@jwallbanger - wow, guy. Your credibility goes way up by using crass language. It's almost as if you didn't come up with this theory. When are you people going to have an idea of your own? What if those ideas are wrong? And people say that we believe EVERYTHING THAT WE ARE TOLD TO BELIEVE and YOU'RE NOT DOING THE SAME THING? How do you even know that the information you've been given isn't accurate? Hey, what ever's clever man. As long as it feels good, do it! Leaving makes it easier to live it.
@THELDSLIFE Oh I'm really bummed that my credibility is shot with the mormons for saying the word FUCK. Here's a clue for you saltine panty-wizards: NORMAL HUMAN BEINGS USE THE FUCKING F WORD, ONLY YOU FAKE, DULL, CREEPY RELIGIOUS NUTS DISAPPROVE, AND WE, THE NORMAL HUMAN BEINGS WITH CRITICAL THINKING ABILITIES, SIMPLY DON'T GIVE A SHIT WHAT YOU THINK. GOT IT? GOOD.
Now go wash the shitty ass stains out of your magic undies before God gets mad at you for desecrating them.
@THELDSLIFE Oh and by the way you are correct. I did not come up with this theory. The great pimp daddy Joseph Smith did. He is my hero for pulling off the greatest teenage panty raid of the 19th century.
And he did it with no money! Just a song and dance about some golden tablets written in grammatically incorrect King James English, which had been a dead language for two centuries! But making it sound like the KJV bible sure must've added some fake cred to his bullshit stories!
Why was polygamy discontinued? It must have been the way to go if that's what the founding church fathers like Joseph Smith and Brigham Young practiced, right? Truth doesn't change, and if Joseph Smith got his messages from God, they had to be true, right?
@TXmusicrox - perhaps this is something we will learn during the millennium along with nearly everything else we have questions about. For the most part, God had instructed a prophet to discontinue the practice and this wouldn't be the first time this had occurred.
@THELDSLIFE TXmusicro told me: " I am sorry you are blinded by the false religion"
"one can't reason with the unreasonable"
"I am one of the biggest skeptics you will ever meet"
"Why are you not skeptical about the LDS religion?"
" Why do you take National Geographic at face value "
and then he told me :)
"there are human footprints right alongside the dinosaur prints. Geologists have admitted that the human prints would had to have been made within hours of the dinosaur tracks"
Enough with all this Bible Bashing, it leads nowhere
"Every sect is a certificate that God has not plainly revealed his will to man. To each reader the Bible conveys a different meaning."-- Robert Green Ingersoll
yes, they come from around the world to use the family tree facilities because it is a requirement to research your family tree in the church and a requirement to baptize yourselves for your dead ancestors.
I hate it when LDS keeps most of the truth away from people.
Tell it EXACTLY like it is and people wouldn't call you a CULT.
Dead ancestors are not in spirit prison to accept your bi proxy baptism. So, really, why would I thank you?
If I ever caught word that you had done a baptism for one my my ancestors, I would likely call the LDS headquarters myself and chastise them and demand they take it back!
Yes I have heard you use that cult-cultivate argument before....and really? I mean really? so because an English word has other root meanings, that makes your church true?????????
So the word cultivate was derived from French or Latin origin?
What is the point you are trying to make?
One can also cultivate weed/pot in their house lol
One can also cultivate evil as is seen in Job 4:8 in the Holy Bible: "My experience shows that those who plant trouble and cultivate evil will harvest the same."
And, the Devil himself is pretty good at cultivating evil within a person or groups of people.
I don't see any relevance except you trying to show off your dictionary skills
@angelcollector22 - we cultivate the practice of waiting to be married in order to have sexual relations with a partner, commit to obey the law of chastity, the Laws of the Lord and commandments as found in the Holy Bible and other scriptures found in our canon, give meaningful service, visit the fatherless and the widows in their afflictions, care for the poor, and many other evil and impure practices.
@angelcollector22 -+ what if additional scripture is from God? without having Egg on your face, what if you have been mis-led to believe that God wouldn't speak again. Perhaps God has lost the power to reach out to men. You have no reason to suggest that the Book of Mormon is fraudulent save it be YOUR WORD ALONE or SOMEONE ELSES WORD that you choose to parrot. I solemnly testify that Jesus is the Christ and is at the head of his church regardless if you become in alignment with this or not.
I never said that I believed that God wouldn't speak again.
God is God, He can speak to whomever He wills.
When He speaks, one can test what He says compared to what He has already said. If it conflicts or contradicts what He has already said, one can be sure that it is not from God.
I have plenty of reasons to know for sure that LDS scriptures are fraudulant and I will outline that for you this evening.
Your testimony though, is definitely parroting every other LDS.
@angelcollector22 - I'm very interested in non-original, bastardized versions of the scriptures read WAY out of context in attempt to discredit modern revelation. Because Scriptures are meant to agree with your understanding and not the other way around. And if you could even prove somehow that your own ideas aren't parroted by the blind leading the deaf, it will not be something I have not seen before. I guess you will say what you've been told to think by family, pastors, friends, etc
@angelcollector22 When He speaks, one can test what He says compared to what He has already said.
Wow... so you judge God by a ink and paper given to us by the hand of men??? I'm not sure why people do this but lots of christians put a book above their god and make the bible an idol...
"so you judge God by a ink and paper given to us by the hand of men??? "
So what you are saying is that when the Bible says all over the place "Thus saith the Lord" and "the word of the Lord came to me saying" and "men of old wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit", etc, etc, etc....that God was lying or the Bible writers were lying?
And that the lying all stopped in 1830 when God finally spoke and got it correct?
Wasn't it you that limited your god to a book? You judge your god by a book and you claim LDS are limiting God? You are so lost in your own understanding of things you are almost hopeless. It should be God first and you should use his Spirit to judge a book not a book to judge your god.
I certainly do not limit God to a book...that is foolish!
I have had Gods spirit speak to me before.
God speaks through His Spirit to the hearts of men, He speaks to us through His creation, and He can speak through prophets or whomever He will, He speaks to us when we go to Him in prayer.
If my relationship with Christ was only within the Bible that is not very much of a relationship, is it?
But, at the same time..the Bible is complete truth from God.
I never said that I think God will only reveal whats already in the Bible....God can reveal things anytime He wills it. My point is that it should never be off base from what He has already said.
For instance, the in the NT, it says that priests should only be the husband of one wife...then two thousand years later LDS teaches polygamy is the only way to enter the celestial kingdom and that practice is an ETERNAL covenant....than when things get sticky, "God changes his mind"
"So you deny that you limit him to a book and then reaffirm that you do."
No, expecting God of the universe to be consistent is not limiting him to a book.
Now take the cult "the children of God", they have other writings that supposedly were given to their prophet by God...and their teachings are new teachings....they are different than LDS teachings.
Am I limiting God to a book to reject new teachings from that cult? Or am I rejecting the new teachings?
Okay....well, you go to the Mo letters of the children of God religion and obey what "God says"...because they also claim new things from God that He wants you to obey.
I will stick with Gods original plan......not any modern knock off lie.
If truth is what LDS wants you to find, then why are you not spending all your days praying if every scriptures in every religion in the world are true or not?
It should work for any holy book, I am assuming..you know, since you are praying to the same God even though they are different texts.
Can you say that you have gone to a Borders book store and prayed over every writing to see if it was true...? then, have you traveled to distant lands for praying over religions you have never heard of?
@TheSkepticChristian - we came to learn from our mistakes, become saved and exalted. If men would wish that others are unfit for this or unworthy of salvation, they do not deserve it for themselves. God will not happily deal with those who curse and stone his prophets. If GOD will save one, he will certainly try to save all of his children WITH or WITHOUT the permission of other men.
@TheSkepticChristian LMAO yea he had brain hallucinations and they caused him to believe he was a prophet of God. This man was obviously schizophrenic and could not be treated properly back then. There is no mention of him ANYWHERE in the Bible or Quran so but yea he probably was sincere and to him he probably was a prophet of God, but like you said he was delusional .
" This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt. Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys "
People so quickly judge JS.
We believe "as far as its translated correctly" remember?
The Holy Spirit spoke these words to me as clear as anyone else talking to me:
"Be still and know that I am God"
Either Satan likes to go around to Christians saying exactly what God said, or he likes to come to Christians when they are having a bad day and try to make it brighter (neither of which is in the character of Satan), or it was God coming to me to show His real presence in my life.
I believe that the Spirit of God is at work when I am reading what God has given men to write in the Bible.
I also firmly hold that when God speaks, He should be speaking what He spoke to men of old "as they were moved by the Holy Spirit".....
Yes, LDS limits God when they try to say that God couldn't stop all truth from being lost for 2000 years until Joseph Smith graced this earth with his presence...God couldn't keep it together unless Jo was here to help him....
There are early christian churches that have similar traditions as the LDS temple. It is well documented that not everything revealed was written down in the bible..
@Sk8er408 - one would simply have to view some of the Mosaics in the temples and other artwork. Even the marriage ceremonies have similarities to what we now have as the "Temple Sealings" that occur within the temples except for the marriages are rightfully done as such... "for time only" or 'until death do you part!" The man still kneels on the right hand, women still wear white dresses, veil their faces, and make certain covenants. Just NOT covenants that depict "Forever Marriage"
false religion!

@di4homes - As men begin to come to the realization that God is literally a Father in Heaven, then knowing what it's like to have the approval of our own Earthly Parents takes on a different meaning. I believe we existed before we came, we are here for a reason, and a destiny that awaits us for after we die.
THELDSLIFE 2 weeks ago

I don't think he is impressed with uglyness and venom that spills out of the mouths and even ones speech can be considered a bad or good deed.
di4homes 2 weeks ago
@di4homes - there are many reasons why we are successful. We believe in what we believe and we have cause to believe it. The Mission and Destiny of this church will one day be understood and the path towards eternal life is a good path. Will all men discover Jesus Christ and his role or even our roles in the plan of salvation in this life? Not all will. Too many distractions. With computers to increase man's knowledge as this knowledge floods the earth, unfortunately there's also XBOX.

Is the missionary aspect mandatory? What if a family cannot afford a missionary trip for their child?
Reazzurro90 2 weeks ago
@Reazzurro90 - The mission is not mandatory but all young men who wish to serve missions but can not afford to do so may make arrangements with members of the church. My Dad has helped to pay for several young men to assist in serving their missions. I saved up to or over 1/2 of my missionary fund, to go... it was an experience that I will always appreciate.

Reazzurro90 2 weeks ago
With all due respect - Mormons are nice people, they should be free to have their religion, etc.
However, they do not fit the definition of Christian. They reject the classical definition of the Trinity, they are essentially Arians, and believe in a plurality of gods.
You can believe that stuff, you have a right too - but those beliefs put you outside the orbit of Christianity. Belief in a "Christ" isn't sufficient - it must be the same Christ. For the same reason, JW are also not Christians.

HtodazzizzaDMC 1 month ago
@HtodazzizzaDMC - some miss the point and in a word, have gotten history wrong. The Civil Rights Movement was helped out, largley in part, by the LDS church. Our church was the first to admit "Black Americans" into their congregation long before the movement took place. Joseph Smith also began his run for presidency and part of his platform would be for "Equal Rights" for Blacks. What most confuse is that the priesthood as a right vs a privilege. Not all were privy to the priesthood. Not a right

THELDSLIFE 2 months ago
@THELDSLIFE "God did not remove his covenant anciently. Why would he begin doing this now". What do you think "New Testament"/"New Covenant" means? Christianity is the end of ritual animal sacrifice, the end of compulsion to Jewish law like circumcision. Read through Romans and reference from there.
IExposeMormonism 2 months ago
@IExposeMormonism - yes wonderful... that was the same problem that Paul had with Peter and was spoken much about in Acts, Galatians, etc... but that's besides the point. It's either the Catholic Church or the restored gospel as one of the only two churches... or neither. Heck, everyone has an opinion... even on the scripture about having only one lord, one faith, and one baptism. Although I would typically one may suggest that it has more to do with there only being one way.

MrNayetrus 3 months ago
@MrNayetrus Whoa! I'm not mad at you because I disagree with you. In fact, I AGREE with you about what the Prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley said about a "different" Jesus, a logical statement because The Church of Jesus Christ believes in BOTH the Bible and the Book of Mormon. So when BOTH scriptures are considered, there is an added, and deeper knowledge of Christ. You're fine with your belief only in the Bible; however, I believe that means you accept only half of the story of Jesus.
MsEndure2end 3 months ago
@MsEndure2end - he only appears different to them because he is different from the Jesus that their pastors describe as "Jesus Christ" should be. He is not different. The only difference is in the understanding of WHO he was and MORE regarding his mission.

@THELDSLIFE Yes. As you said, the difference is in understanding. Since Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever, it's obviously people that change as knowledge is gained. REAL Christians don't believe Jesus is the literal son of an exalted man. REAL Christians don't believe Jesus is the spirit brother of Satan. Cults believe such garbage.......
Jack44M 3 months ago
@Jack44M - it's obvious that people with this lack of knowledge have a very naive knowledge of the Bible because the Bible surely speaks of a pre-mortal life, a war in heaven, a separation of those who are or were at one time considered children of God and who were cast out, and surely without prophets men are left to fend for themselves regarding truth. Mormons do not claim to know EVERYTHING about the plan of salvation or eternity but thanks to Modern prophets, we DO KNOW much more.
THELDSLIFE 3 months ago
@THELDSLIFE
Jack44M 3 months ago
@Jack44M - sure, Go back to Revelations. Let's clear this up. Because it's driving me crazy how you don't know this. See Rev Ch 12:1-5
Who did Satan draw away from the heavens in that Great war in heaven? Some ghostly mists of spiritual beings unworthy to have ever been considered creations from GOD? Or were they fallen angels, at one time with God, along with us, in the pre-mortal realm?
Then go to Job 38:4-7.
PLEASE tell me you know that Stars are representative of "Pre-Mortal" Spirits!
THELDSLIFE 3 months ago
@THELDSLIFE
Jack44M 3 months ago
It's only false doctrine because it disagrees with you. It is false because you believe it is false. But would you dare to find out if it is true or not? Or will you rely on what others have already said putting NO trust in God to possibly clear up the matter?
THELDSLIFE 3 months ago
@THELDSLIFE

Christianity in general when it first came about was labeled a cult. Every religion started as such.. People often hate what they can't live up to. So talk your shit.
801Jord 3 months ago
@801Jord - I have never had a problem with the word CULT.
Cult is a shorter word for the word "C-U-L-T-I-V-A-T-E"
Followers of Jesus Christ, through faith and works, cultivate a life for themselves that either mimics the master himself or a more "Christ-like" life through meaningful service.
And there is something to be said about those who can't live up to it.
People quit this church because they deem it a "hard one to abide by or follow."
Quitters don't usually need a reason but provide one.

yes, they come from around the world to use the family tree facilities because it is a requirement to research your family tree in the church and a requirement to baptize yourselves for your dead ancestors.
I hate it when LDS keeps most of the truth away from people.
Tell it EXACTLY like it is and people wouldn't call you a CULT.
angelcollector22 4 months ago
@angelcollector22 - what if our dead ancestors need baptism to enter the Kingdom?
A "THANK YOU" out to be in order. Someone has to do this work when the rest of the world is slothful about their own baptismal day.
One more thing... it's not a problem to call us a cult. Why would it?
The word "Cult" comes from the word "Cultivate"
so if members of the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS cultivates a life centered around Christ,
WOULD I BE OFFENDED WHEN SOMEONE RECOGNIZES THIS? No... not at all.
THELDSLIFE 4 months ago
@THELDSLIFE
LDS is a false lie!
angelcollector22 4 months ago
So the word cultivate was derived from French or Latin origin?
What is the point you are trying to make?
One can also cultivate weed/pot in their house lol
One can also cultivate evil as is seen in Job 4:8 in the Holy Bible: "My experience shows that those who plant trouble and cultivate evil will harvest the same."
And, the Devil himself is pretty good at cultivating evil within a person or groups of people.
I don't see any relevance except you trying to show off your dictionary skills
angelcollector22 4 months ago
@angelcollector22 - we cultivate the practice of waiting to be married in order to have sexual relations with a partner, commit to obey the law of chastity, the Laws of the Lord and commandments as found in the Holy Bible and other scriptures found in our canon, give meaningful service, visit the fatherless and the widows in their afflictions, care for the poor, and many other evil and impure practices.
THELDSLIFE 4 months ago
@THELDS
It is admirable AND biblical to wait for marriage before having sexual relations...so we are in agreement.
We have a problem when you mention other scriptures, as they were written by a fraud.
So, I will continue to speak out against that fraud and his false religion.
I know lots and lots of false religions that do a tremendous amount of charities, yet, they are still blasphemous and false religions.
False religions are still evil in Gods sight, no matter how much charity they do
angelcollector22 4 months ago
@angelcollector22 -+ what if additional scripture is from God? without having Egg on your face, what if you have been mis-led to believe that God wouldn't speak again. Perhaps God has lost the power to reach out to men. You have no reason to suggest that the Book of Mormon is fraudulent save it be YOUR WORD ALONE or SOMEONE ELSES WORD that you choose to parrot. I solemnly testify that Jesus is the Christ and is at the head of his church regardless if you become in alignment with this or not.
THELDSLIFE 4 months ago
@THELDSLIFE

Sk8er408 4 months ago
@Sk8er408
Stop limiting God!
angelcollector22 4 months ago
@angelcollector22
No... What i'm saying is that you are making an idol of ink and paper and subject your god to it. Scripture is only words without the Spirit.
You BAC cling to faith and reject works and then cling to words on paper and reject your god... sad.
Sk8er408 4 months ago
@angelcollector22 Stop limiting God!
Wasn't it you that limited your god to a book? You judge your god by a book and you claim LDS are limiting God? You are so lost in your own understanding of things you are almost hopeless. It should be God first and you should use his Spirit to judge a book not a book to judge your god.
Sk8er408 4 months ago
@Sk8er408

@angelcollector22
It sure sounds like you are limiting him to a book... as you believe that he has to only reveal something that is already found in it...
How do you know that the spirit that talks to your heart is from G-d? (again... this is something that is typicaly asked of LDS)
You are right... you dont have much of a relation ship when you limit him to ink and paper.
WOW... the bible is not complete truth... you make a book equal to your god... it is your idol.
Sk8er408 4 months ago
@Sk8er408
I never said that I think God will only reveal whats already in the Bible....God can reveal things anytime He wills it. My point is that it should never be off base from what He has already said.
For instance, the in the NT, it says that priests should only be the husband of one wife...then two thousand years later LDS teaches polygamy is the only way to enter the celestial kingdom and that practice is an ETERNAL covenant....than when things get sticky, "God changes his mind"
angelcollector22 4 months ago
@angelcollector22 My point is that it should never be off base from what He has already said.
So you deny that you limit him to a book and then reaffirm that you do... You understand that the NT is off base from the OT right?
It was not taught that polygamy is the only way to enter the CK... this is a stretch.
Sk8er408 4 months ago
@Sk8er408
Or am I rejecting the new teachings?
angelcollector22 4 months ago
@Sk8er408
"It was not taught that polygamy is the only way to enter the CK... this is a stretch."
It was taught that polygamy was necessary for exaltation...thats why Joseph Smith had 30 something wives.
If that is not the reason, then, please explain to me why Joseph Smith took 30 something wives?

@angelcollector22 - what if you're taking the incorrect path?
THELDSLIFE 4 months ago
@THELDS
First of all- I have zero worries about that.
Secondly of all- The path of salvation from sin and eternal death through Jesus Christ is the correct path.
Thirdly- I would not trust the burning in the bosom for knowing anything is true.
Let me ask you something, has your church EVER asked you to pray for the burning of bosom to know if everything in the Bible is true?
Have they asked you to pray for the burning of the bosom over the book of Romans?
I guarantee they haven't
why?
angelcollector22 4 months ago
If truth is what LDS wants you to find, then why are you not spending all your days praying if every scriptures in every religion in the world are true or not?
It should work for any holy book, I am assuming..you know, since you are praying to the same God even though they are different texts.
Can you say that you have gone to a Borders book store and prayed over every writing to see if it was true...? then, have you traveled to distant lands for praying over religions you have never heard of?
angelcollector22 4 months ago
@angelcollector22 Well first of all, I have plenty of evidence that JS was not a con man, he was a sincere person.
there are only two explanations to his character.
1) HE was a prophet of God
2) he was a sincere man, but suffered from Brain hallucinations.
I do have evidence that he was sincere, as much as I would like, I can't explain the atrocities in the OT.
TheSkepticChristian 4 months ago

@Sk8er408 Can angelcollector explain this??
1 Samuel 15:1-3:
" This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt. Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys "
People so quickly judge JS.
We believe "as far as its translated correctly" remember?
TheSkepticChristian 4 months ago
"How do you know ...it is from God"
Not by a burning in the bosom.

@Sk8er408
"you dont have much of a relation ship when you limit him to ink and paper."
who says I limit him to paper?
If new revelations come out and I know they are from God, I would accept them in a new book.
I have not seen proof that anything new is from God, therefore I do not accept.
If you believe that every new writing come from God, maybe you should include the watchtower in the scriptures you hold dear?
angelcollector22 4 months ago
@Sk8er408
I believe that the Spirit of God is at work when I am reading what God has given men to write in the Bible.
I also firmly hold that when God speaks, He should be speaking what He spoke to men of old "as they were moved by the Holy Spirit".....
Yes, LDS limits God when they try to say that God couldn't stop all truth from being lost for 2000 years until Joseph Smith graced this earth with his presence...God couldn't keep it together unless Jo was here to help him....
yeah, NOT

The trinity is not in the bible...
There are early christian churches that have similar traditions as the LDS temple. It is well documented that not everything revealed was written down in the bible..
Sk8er408 4 months ago
@Sk8er408 - one would simply have to view some of the Mosaics in the temples and other artwork. Even the marriage ceremonies have similarities to what we now have as the "Temple Sealings" that occur within the temples except for the marriages are rightfully done as such... "for time only" or 'until death do you part!" The man still kneels on the right hand, women still wear white dresses, veil their faces, and make certain covenants. Just NOT covenants that depict "Forever Marriage"
