Yes, an illuminated capstone and pyramid shape come from the spotlight when Alex is on the stage during the demonstration of his successful treatment for the power elite and their minions. I just watched the film and the alignment happens as the "egyptian hairstyle girl" takes her bow.
Is it just me, or is the part where he talks about the prison wall wrong?
Surely thats a traingle because the bricks are different/older maybe. I wouldnt be surprised if there is either a house with a traingular roof behind that wall or that the courtyard used to have a trainguler roof before it was smahed and extended to a cube.
I'm not sure if I believe most of the conspiracy theories for Clockwork, but it's definitely compelling. I think if Kubrick consciously inserted those references into his movies, it was intended as a provocation and as a challenge to someone that would notice it, not as a reflection of his beliefs. If you study his life and read his interviews, he grounded his movies so heavily in research and with an intellectual backing; the conspiracy stuff is just convenient and/or clever.
It's not a pyramid. It's a capital letter "A". The book and film are called "A Clockwork Orange", and when you look at the poster, the so-called pyramid is just the indefinite article in stylized form.
Eyes wide shut is an adaptation of Arthur Schnitzler's Traumnovelle which is a psychoanalytic study of society's view of sexuality, desire, and women's status in society. The masked ball scene is present in the novella and Kubrick's adaptation is very close to the original work, despite the modern setting. I doubt it has anything to with a belief in conspiracy theories.
@DenimZero So what is The Shining about? Why did Kubrick make it? If he was a director of images, a photographer and an incredible well-read artist with almost complete control of his projects, that would not just let the set designer put it there without meaning? How about Kubrick's irrational positioning of characters in Full Metal Jacket and his labyrinthian geography in The Shining? Why would he on purpose make such strange choices and involve the theme of mirrors throughout his last films?
6:24 The courtyard at one time was a room and had a pitched roof. The older bricks makes the triangular shape that you see. Did Kubrick pick that location due to the strange brick formation, or is it a coincidence? I think it is a coincidence.
you know what the pyramid at 6:29 also kind of looks like? That shot in 2001 where the sun is rising over the monolith. maybe Kubrick was referencing that; he already referenced 2001 with the record in the music store.
people still fight over this movie, proves its power to make folks think. thanks for posting this.:) could the reviewer please do another film study on IF? another fantastic malcom mac dowell, thanks
As much as I love your theory the eyeball bit is actually just crude artwork, you'll notice thati n the film he has eyeballs stuck to his cuffs, or at least that's how I see it. I used to love that poster because of how abstract it seemed (I still hold it in high regard) but after noticing that I find it a little sloppy.
@vipersquad And why does he have eyeballs on his cuffs? I've been wondering about this, especially when Rob brought it up as perhaps being part of bigger picture which included the design of the poster for example. Why does he have those eyeballs? What do they mean?
@Hoppus217 A pig's eyes are wide shut cause a pig never looks up they always look towards the ground. A pig is a symbol of ignorance. I thought thats what eyes wide shut was about. Also, can you explain a little bit about how North missing has to do with Saturn or satan?
i think that they should remake this movie, the first one was fucking amazing don't get me wrong but i kinda want to see a modern adaptation that is sort of a mediator between the book and the movie
Ok, now you said you're not a conspiracy theorist, but did you mean with that that the focus of your work isn't on conspiracy theories or that you do not believe in conspiracy theories?
you cant find a reason for the eye on his shirt sleeve on the marketing artwork? its in the movie, each droog has a diff thing on their wrist, dim has ears.
the triangle seems to have more to do with the rapist being raped or something along those lines with the smaller triangle going up into the bigger one (and on the DVDrelease a woman is inside the smaller one helping to represent the original raped having it's redemption) although the proposition of the eye being part of a representation for the all seeing pyramid is very, very interesting. Perhaps it should be taken into consideration when viewing the other body parts on the other groogmembers?
The seventies were the time of cheap video cameras, the eighties were the time of bubbly pop culture, the nineties were the time of political correctness.
@Letes92 sex was one metaphor that Kubrick used like some connections you might see with the man who comes into the flat while Alex DeLarge is in his undies and the woman he murders with the *clears throat*
check out the fence at the HOME another masonic symbol. also the 1st shot when arrested we see a cop sitting on a chair covering one eye.his legs are shaped like a pyramid, there is a dot on the chair where the eye of horus should be. look at the shadow on the wall, a big penis like the one he killed the cat woman with. also alex's penis is smaller cause his jock thing i gone, his phallic nose is gone and he is hurt on the nose. eye of horus/pyramyd, castration/demasculation, check it out
Kubrick invented conspiracies

The large triangle with a small triangle inside is called an A. As in "A" (Clockwork Orange)

The spotlight also forms a triangle in which Alex appears to be trapped in, on stage.
Another possibly illuminati reference / coincidence.

@DenimZero The Illuminati existed long before this film was ever conceived. That isn't a theory, it's fact.

"IS IT POSSIBLE THAT KUBRICK PLACED THE EYE AND THE TRIANGLE SYMBOL... AS SOME SORT OF DELIBERATE WARNING TO THE AUDIENCE?"
I doubt it since Kubrick didn't design the poster.
