  • Really really like your demo and the professional way you delivered it. You went to a lot of trouble, anyone can see that. I got a Line 6 UX2 and wish Id got this kit now.. There are endless registrations and irritations with it. Check out some of my demos if you get time. Wish I had that accoustic sound on the UX2 !!

The 8 dislikes are obviously 8 guitarist who 'know' they could have done better lol. Aah guitarists.

  • @arfurlife laughing...thx for your comment...yes being on a public platform you do have to be prepared that people like you or dislike you...disliking is ok for me - I could be anything and I believe it is not meant personally. I always try to make the product stand in front of me.

  • Great demo, Bro! I'm going to buy that pedal soon. I like the sounds and as I see it makes difference what guitar you use. That's a good thing. Can RP155 be used as an audio interface with amp modeling software like Amplitube or Guitar Rig?

  • @MrDirt86 I do not use those platforms but I do use Logic and Cubase...so I am pretty positive it works with Amplitube and GuitarRig. Check out the platform and the drivers this should give you the answer

  • sorry about this does it have a looper too and what does it mean by that.i mean does it have a built in memorie to record 10 seconds of playing or is that a usb feature and how is it when it connects via usb i would use cubase LE.what program do you use and do you get hiss problems or popping etc when you try to record.i got win 7 cubase dell studio 1737 just though may as well add that :D

  • @beakf1 it is a built in looper which gives you 20 seconds of recording time....which means the first take sets the length of the loop then you can overdub as many times as you like. I do use proper cables and when I record I do not sit close to a TV or light bulbs...through this I do not need noise supressors

  • oh and it has drum rythm funtions doesnt it :L

  • @beakf1 yes it does

  • hi there rhank for this demo.it sounds great on u tube how it comes across in real life id have to see in the shop.my questions can you connect it to a tiny amp like a orange micro cruch amp and how does it compare to the old zoom g2.1u with expetion pedal (i know it doesnt have a pedal but how do you think the modeling sounds compare ) :)

  • @beakf1 I do my videos so they pretty much match what you get with the product...of course the video platform adds some compression and limited bandwidth but it is pretty much how the products sound....no post production or expensive things behind the curtains

  • Digitech RP 155 and RP 90 have the same price. Which one is better?

  • @pramkriuk RP155...you get more you have USB and it is made off metal

  • Comment removed

  • @68guitardude

Don't buy, beacuse I own one and it sounds like shit!!!!

  • Ricky was a young boy...He had a heart of stone

  • does anybody know the 11 effects the RP-255 has but the 155 dosn't have?

i just bought an 155 in the internet, it will arrive soon but know i'm asking if it wouldn't be better to buy a 255..

And i've got a keyboard pedal from KORG, is it possible to use it as Wah-Pedal?

    thanks

  • I like preset 6

  • i like how his mood improved when going to preset 3 and then worsened on preset 4

  • LOOK AT THE SMILE ON HIS FACE AT PRESET 3. LOL

  • Hey, can you tell what that thing is around the nut? or is it just a hairband?

  • can i use along with my boss ds-1? and also with vox wah?

    will it sound good|?

  • Comment removed

  • Quick question: Would I be able to hook this up to a tube amp head and use the delay/reverb/chorus/compressor effects? Or would that just give me a huge heap of feedback and ruin the tone of my amp?

  • Excellent straightforward demo of a great set of presets - and no shredding in sight! What a relief! Thanks.

  • Can I use BOSS FV-50L to control digitech RP155 wah or whammy?

  • @afas1995 It should work...I cannot say for sure though as I dont own that pedal. Best is to try it out in a musicstore nearby

  • @ralfjung so how did you record your guitar man was it with a mic or Input to the computer?

  • @ralfjung YES it's possible via "Control In" jack !

  • @afas1995 Yeah, any passive volume pedal should do the work, i own a RP55 (wich i don't know why i just love) and i use a normal volume pedal and it does the job very well. I'm now waiting to buy this one. Try to use a metal case pedal, it survives longer

  • @afas1995 any passive vomepedal based on a mono instrument jack connection which has 250kOhms will work

  • Is it possible to record with Ableton using this interface?

  • I have the RP155 and i think its great. Good metal sound - is my life, and this processor gives you a FULLY EVIL SOUND!!!

  • a question for you sir im planing on buying rp 255 and a ltd-v50 my question is do i need an amp

i figured since it has usb port i would use computer as a speakers or i could just plug it on my stereo what do you think ??

  • @masters1990mj I use it that way more than I use it with an amp. If your computer monitor are half way descent you get a great sound with the Rp and you have control over the overall volume as you dont need to push tubes or a poweramp to make a amp work.....

Stereo can work as well...basically it is the same concept than using the RP directly into a mixing board or an recording device

  • 1:45 Eric Johnson!

  • What were you playing on preset 26? That was an awesome riff!

  • plz go check out a vid on mine on this pedal. i play a few of my own created effetcs. but first please subsribe to ralfjung for this awesome video!

  • i've been thinking about upgrading from an rp70. my thought was the rp155 would be a good choice because it's small and portable, it has more options available than the rp70, but it's a lot simpler and less expensive than, say, the rp500. my obvious question: is the rp155 the best choice for upgrading to from an rp70? (it would make sense, because it's the next in the series. rp90, from my understanding, is basically rp70 plus expression pedal)

  • you have the best hair ever!

  • preset 2 melody was beautiful. i loved it

  • present two was beautiful. i loved it

  • this is better then most demos i've seen. you have soul when you play your music even though its just a little demo for youtube. i have this pedal, love it, keep rocking.

  • Sweet! Love the sound!

  • Preset 7 Jimi Hendrix sound? Can't wait to open up my DigiTech RP155 for christmas! Oh and the thing you play at 1:05 sounds sooo badass, nice review!

  • Nice pedal, Have you tested the Zoom G2?, because i need to pick a pedal and these 2 both looks good and are the same price on amazon

  • So if I wanted to, I could use my Morley Wah as the expression pedal found on the higher models by using the jack on the back of the unit? That would be killer because I like my spring loaded switchless wah! Would the input go from guitar to wah and then to the rp? or is it a loop? Thanks...this thing sounds killer....

  • @evracer A Wah pedal is not a expression pedal.....there is a big difference in function although they look alike

  • nice playing dude! i have a question.. can you record with the comp using the RP?

  • @store1992 you mean recording with compression - yes absolutely

  • There doesn't seem to be a list of the presets with the pedal to tell you what each one is.. How do you know what each preset is?

  • @shadoogie61 I just went thru the manual and yes you are correct....no list of presets with a short decrption maybe....good idea actually.

I always trust my ears and have a strong idea of how I want to sound like and then I just scroll thru the presets available and stop at one which is closest and then alter that.....maybe this works for you too

  • @ralfjung Well, in case of loss of the manual, u can always re download the pdf file online. But anyway, having messed around with the pedal for over 2 months, I think one can pretty much memorise most of the effects enlisted in the rp155 pedal. My favorite is of course the myriad of delays, chorus, and the JCM 800. :)

  • what are you recording whit??? you said direct, but what program?? do it have the abity to record also, or just edit the presets via USB???

  • @johnmcnair I record sometimes with Cubase but most of the time with my video program direct...that way I spare the pain in the *+#+ to snyc pictures and music.

The RP itself cannot record but it sends a two way audiosignal up the USB to your computer...with stunning quality I want to add here....So the USB serves 2 purposes a edit presets and parameters b be the audiopath.

The RP is a serious audio interface 24bit 44.1kHz

  • Excuse me man, is this Pedal hard to manage? like I need for Live Performances something to switch effects FAST, distortion On and Off and Effects without much stepping on the Pads, also does it contain Amp Modelling things or Cabinet Simulators?? thanks you really tested it good man.

  • @rakyaband Of course you can do this with the RP155....but honestly the way you describe your application and expectation I would go for the RP500......

  • The riff was crazy on preset 3 !!! tabs?

  • @TheDirtbiker22 Sorry no tabs...it is in D minor and I have the low E string tuned down to a D....maybe this helps to track it a little

  • Any one knows if there are any USB drivers available for 64 bit XP.

    Thanks.

  • @TheJwwinter Just go to Digitechs webpage - it is there

  • Dude the Sweet little riffing with the gibson on preset 2 really carried me away all i was missing was a Lighter

  • @HBDRful Funny image - you with the lighter in front of your laptop....smile

  • does the RP155 manual say about the preset types?

  • @aneyekay1 Yes there are short desciptions in it....but best is to check them out in a store. If you do so...have it set up in the serial loop of a good sounding amp. Bring down the Master Volume on the RP before you start though (Knob on the front panel to the very right)

  • some one help me please ..

is it allow to recorde direct to laptop useing the USB ???

  • @moodyshoman Yes it is made to record directly to the computer through the USB out. You can run audio parallel through the line out but audio is travelling to the PC via USB. To record without any latency hook up the studio monitors to the RP and use it a s audiointerface....it plays back the tracks on your computer....check out the section in the manual

  • Ralf, what recording software do you use with the Digitech RP155? I tried using it with Audacity but it acts weird sometimes. Any tips? Thanks!

  • @pjrodz Hi there

I use Cubase 5 or Logic Pro...never saw any problems there. I dont have any experience with Audicity - sorry for that but I think as the USB output is sending audio just like any other audiointerface work on the Audicity settings I am sure you can make it work seamless

  • @ralfjung thanks ralf! and thank you too for making these very cool guitar effects reviews. keep em coming! :)

  • Im not sure how to use an effect pedal and I'm thinkin bout getting this one. Does it go from your guitar to the pedal through the amp? or is it for cpus?

  • @ipnutt22 You can use it that way but you can also use it git then rp then amp fx return or power amp in...or you can use it direct thru the USB connection and then hook up your studio monitor to the RP and use its audiointerface features

  • Thanks for the demo. I just got this at the store and am ready to test drive it.

  • Ralf i hope that you can help me...i want to buy this pedal but i want to use itt in my gigs.....and i was wondering iff i can you know press just one button that can gett me from the clean sound to the gain one...you know because our next song is GNR paradise city so i have to do the intro chorus cleanish picking and i have to do the gain part too...and i was wondering iff i cant quickly change those too....

  • @tedySlashfan Each preset you find you can save to a new location....so lets say your clean tone should be at preset one...go and find a preset you like press save and then locate it to 1. Next search for your dirty tone and do the same. You might find yourself in the situation to adapt the volume of those presets....lower the clean preset instead of cranking the dirty all the way so you have some spare volume in case you need it for live

  • @ralfjung Thanks man,your AWESOME.....

  • Ralf, first i need to thank you for all your videos and putt you a question ....what should i choose between rp 155 or rp 90...i saw all the effects on theyr website...the rp 155 just has some more amps...am i right?

  • @tedySlashfan It has more amps and effects plus most important you can use more effects at a time and you can access parameters. In the RP90 you must use templates to choose in between variations of a effect in the 155 you can access those parameters directly

  • What is that song starting at 3:00?

  • @aryasridhar Thats just a traditional blues boogie pattern...no particular song...you might hear similar songs or patterns with SRV or the BB King, Albert King, older Eric Clapton etc etc

  • Can you connect the rp 155 to a pedal board and connect it like any ordinary pedal?

    And what the power supply.

  • @FullmetalFan500 Yes you can but most of the effects are oin the pedal anyway. Powersupply comes with the RP and is a 9V AC adapter called PS0913B

  • ok umm how do you get to "preset 3" that u did with the fender?! ive been trying and its confuzzling me. help?

  • @XxZaShLeYoBsEsSeDxX To get to preset 3?....just use the footswitches to scroll to that preset. I used the Fender straight into the pedal no behind the curtain activity...this is how the pedal sounds

  • 5*

    great quality

  • Hi Ralf, thanks for the great demos and also bothering to answer comments almost 1 year later - a lot of work I'm sure but much appreciated. My question is are the limited set of amps/distortions/effects available on the RP155 exactly the same as the 'same-name' amps/distortions/effects' found on the RP1000?

Of course I realise the RP1000 has many many features & advantages over the RP155, but as they share the same AudioDNA2 chip I wonder if the basic set on the RP155 is a match? I hope so!..

  • @lbk3918 Hi there - sometimes with the new system of youtube I oversee a question especially whern another user has answered it so there will be some delay in my responses or no response....anyway I try to get in here every other day.

The RP1000 has similar models but of course the AD/DA converters are better and the processor gives more horsepower to each model. Other than that the beasic research for the models was the same in all of the RP models. I hope this explains the concept

  • ca you program the paramaters for the whammy or is it fixed in one spot?

  • @jaiknkayla To use the Whammy you need to use an optional expression pedal.....of course you can program the whammy to be in one position but that is exycept a few application pointless in my opinion...having said this this is what I do to immitade a bass guitar....

  • Hey Ralf, nice demo.

I'm considering the RP155 to place in the effects loop of my Line 6 M13 for some looping (with my Jamman) and also for playing at church without an amp (straight to house). The guys at Digitech tell me this has the same AudioDNA2 engine as the larger units but just with fewer amp and effect models.

Do you think this unit will work ok in the M13 effects loop?

    Thx bro.

    Joe Faraldi

  • Hey, I love the vids. They're great demonstrations that further made me purchase this pedal but I was wondering if you or anyone else had tips on using it live? ive used it once live but it lacked volume mostly. Im using a crate GFX212 with the pedal running through the mono effects loop (insert input). Of course, the pedal sounds great at lower volumes though. Any suggestions?

  • I currently have an RP50. Our the sounds much diff on this unit? Is it worth it to get this one?

  • @phleb1968 dude i have an rp50. its total garbage, made in the '90's. this is eons ahead of that

  • So this digital effect pedal can do any sort of sound on the guitar?

  • @rarebanana What you hear is what you get.....I didnt tweak any of the presets I was demoing....so this video is really fair in terms of how the pedal sounds.

  • hey, how doy you change the drumm patterns? i dont know how, i just have the first one, i thing i just have the one of your preste 28, how do i ghange it?

  • @CreedofCorpsesTV I tend to reply...RTFM but maybe something is wrong with your unit and then my joke isnt funny at all.

When you push the drum buttom you should hear drums playing then use the triangle shaped cursors until you reach the row on the bottom the last row above the knobs....then use these knobs to change drumpatterns, styles volume and speed

  • @CreedofCorpsesTV easily said: click the drum button, then click the top triangle Edit button on the left of the nobs, then the Tone Knob changes the genre of drum beat (rock, metal, blues...) the 2nd knob, changes the drum beat within that genre, and the third knob controls the tempo of the drum beat. the 4th knob just controls general volume

  • Ralf, everywhere on the web it says the RP155 has 1/8" aux input (I want to practice with my iPod). But the user manual doesn't show that in diagrams, and I don't see it in photos. Must I step up to the RP255 to get that? Thanks.

  • @mrtwang52 Yes, you are right for a Aux in you need to go to the RP255. The RP155 does not have that. That is typical for Digitech, the seperate the products into features like this....you put down more money and get more features. This is not unfair I think as all of these features cost something....

  • @mrtwang52 look at the guitar center pics, you'll see it.

  • would you recommend this multieffect for using it with a tube amp live???

  • @MicroCrush Sure but if you can use the clean channel or even better the poweramp in or the FX return on this amplifier

  • Pretty cool. Sounds interesting.

  • Thanks for your help, if you can overdub, then this is precsiely what i wanted :)

  • @PSCocks

you can and you can also loop

  • Hey does this loop more than once like the Boss Rc20?

  • @PSCocks

I dont really know the RC20 precisely but since it is a dedicated looper you can compare it to the JamMan but not to a looper function which comes with a unit.

In here you can "only" loop 20 sec you can do overdubbing and change presets while the loop plays back at you but you cannot save the loop or play it back faster or slower and keeping pitch or play it backwards etc...the RC and the JamMan can do this of course as they are dedicated to these functions

  • I'm looking for a simple, cost-effective MFX and this was an excellent, excellent video. Very helpful, nice job.

  • I have no idea how to use this pedal. T.T

  • check out my other RP videos and read the manual that should give you a few ideas

  • Maybe someone can help me..i have the rp500,jackson dinky with active emgs played thru a solid state 100watt marshall amp..What i can't get rid of is the dull buzzy sound on my low e,a,d strings..if i strike a chord on those strings the excess noise over powers the next chord I strike..even when I palm mute I get too much extra noise..no clean cut off...Its like there is no bright crisp metal sound..I'm a rookie at this..there must be something I'm missing to clean up my sound.

  • Could be a lot...could be old strings...or your pickups are too close to the strings...your guitar is set up wrong or the neck has a problem....when it comes to the pedal it is probably a good idea to reset just in case but save your presets first. Keep in mind that EMGs are very loud so you might need to reduce the gain on the ampmodel to get clearer results.

  • Through what amp are you running ur RP?

Great sound by the way, pure classic :)

  • In this video I am going direct into the mixer

  • when you say reset my pedal,do you mean reset to factory specs???

  • @webratsrus

yes I do...it is pretty straight ahead just read the manual to make sure you do the correct steps

  • Bloody great vid mate. I was wondering if you could give me a jist of what the presets consisted of in Preset 3 and 5. I own the RP250 and I would love to get that sound preset. Thnx Keep On Rockin

  • They are factory presets....in the manual you should find a list of the presets but to write out all the parameters it is too much work...please excuse this...if I would answer all of the tab and parameter requests I had to give up my job....smile

  • hey can you plz send me the chords for preset 28? it sounds amazing.

  • @brokenclock621

it is an open Em (E on 7th fret on A string then G on the 5th fret of the D string) let all other string ring....then there is a normal open C chord and an open D chord with an open high E string (again only two notes fretted)

  • k thanks a ton

  • lol the preset nº 2 sounded like the music that is played on farmville

  • How is the heaviest distortion the RP155 can offer compared to the Insane#4 preset of the pocket POD? I really want to get one of them but im not sure which one i should buy. I'm into Nu Metal so I am looking for really heavy distortion.

  • I believe that the Insane preset is a Rectifier modell...in the RP you find the same model plus a few distortion boxes...there is so much distortion and fuzz available in the box-it should make you happy

  • duuuuuuude, can u tab me preset 10?? :))))

    SOUNDS AWESOME! :)))

  • Sorry...this is just a basic rocknroll riff a la SRV....you should be able to leqrn by watching....I get about 40 emails a day here so I dont really have the time to do this///pls dont be mad at me ok?

  • Dude, why should I be mad?? :DDD

Yeah, I think I've got it figured, by the time you mailed replied, thou, I changed some parts... naaaaah, not important, thx, anyway, for the great demo, I wanted to buy Boss multi-effect unit, but after seeing some of yours videos, I've changed my mind...thx... :D

  • you can record this amaizing sound with the xedit software or another software.....let me know please

  • Through the USB port you can stream audio to pretty much any computer using a sequencer software such as Logic Cubase Protools etc. The X Edit is there to remote control the RP. The RP can function as an audiointerface on top of that. If you upgrade to the 255 you get Cubase LE4 for free

  • what`s the second song?

  • you mean the riff I play on preset 2?...it is just a theme I came up with....no song...not yet, maybe you make one....I would be honored

  • i`ll make one .And i`ll post it.Next week i gonna buy a fender showmaster.and i`m starting recording.:D

  • Does the digitech support bass? Does it sound any good?

  • you can use it zith a Bass but Digitech offers dedicated bass products

  • We just got the RP155 and we are trying to set it to acoustic but we are on 28 and it sounds nothing like yours at all.

    Help?

  • try to bypass all the FX to start then use a single coil git if available best is to use the middle PU or the trebel and middle PU together in case if it is a Strat....then dial in the acoustic model and maybe add some reverb....I was using a factory preset btw no magic here... I was also using the RP direct so no amp was involved....amps tend to mask the acoustic effect

  • this video is really good. 4/5

  • AWESOME

  • Great demo and sound quality!

  • Hey, on the this video ,,preset 10" please tell me the song name :) if u can PM :P

  • This is truly one great multi effects pedal and it is very affordable. Great demo!
