Common Snapping Turtle feeding in HD

@turtlefien123 I first had to feed him dog treats that looked like large turtle pellets but was sort of the color of a worm (light reddish, but not quite pink). Then I would throw in turtle pellets and one or two dog treats after he was used to the treats, and he started just eating the pellets alone. It took a little bit of time but now he'll eat nearly anything

@turtlefien123 Turtles can sometimes imprint on foods that they were fed a lot of when they were young. Bert used to only eat those same two things and not even touch turtle food.

@Sakura69ABC Bert is getting huge now. I had to move him to a 30g tank with two filters to accommodate the growth. It's definitely a rewarding experience to have a turtle that can recognize your face and get legitimately excited [usually when food is envolved ;) ]

Would you ever be able to lift the turtle up without him biting you? Do you use a siphon to siphon the gravel?

@Colin896 thanks, i try to keep him in tip top shape. Bert is actually going through a pretty big growth spurt and is pretty active so I think that would confirm his good health
