this didnt prove anything. if you drop any device that is electronic-made of plastic or metal its going to have some loose parts inside or outside or break. Drive your car off a cliff , its made out of metal right, it shouldnt break? drop your Canon 5D or Nikon D3X and you'll have problems as well. i buy plastic bodied cameras and have never dropped it because it comes with a STRAP.

K... so NX100 is much more durable than the NEX 3. So if you get NEX 3 be careful when using it. If you get the NX100 it is durable. It won't disappoint you when drop.

Korean tends to use non-Korean for the propaganda. Then, they use a lot of team mate to applause Korean product as if he dropped by occasionally. Finally, increase the access number. The same approach is used for the propaganda of Korean music, talent, and even for the ranking poll.

@anteroneves if that's sarcasm, i don't get your point. obviously this video isn't to persuade someone to buy one camera over the other or to imply that people think about purposefully dropping their cameras. it's just an interesting test to show how each camera fares at certain drop heights.

have you tried both cameras? i did and the samsung handles much better (more direct access buttons).

and it is true. the nex has better high iso.. but when was the last time you printed and framed a iso 3200 shot anyways?? high iso is totally overrated unless you shoot professional sports where fast shutter speed is needed .. but in that case you would buy a nikon d3s anyways.

The NX100 with two lenses (20-50mm and 20mm) and a flash is cheaper than a NEX-3 and kit lens in my area, so it's a good comparison.

i just buy cameras that have great value.. started with a sony alpha 100, made a quite some money from the photos and bought a nikon d300.. now a nx100 and second system.

it's funny. the body of NEX3 is plastic. You should compare NEX5 and NX100. This video must be PR clip from Samsung. It compared a plastic body with metal body. the prices of 2 cameras are also different.

@manhyen The external metal NEX-5 casing isn't going to be any more shock resistant. The plastic NEX-3 is probably the most durable in terms of a drop test like this as composites are more shock absorbent.

If it is PR from samsung, its pretty conclusive evidence of which is better :P.

Der Test währe interessant mit Objektiven.. So ist es Quatsch, wer wirft das Gehäuse ohne Objektiv runter, und in der Praxis kommt es auf die Fotos an.

Eine Kaufentscheidung auf so einen Test zu treffen finde ich bisserl seltsam..
