I would love to see their reaction if Ronnie Coleman or DExter Jackson walked in the same room with them...how would they react??? They would be like ...WTF...where did this monster come from...we are fucked...
Interesting to note that despite arguments breaking out over various guys, Danny Padilla seems to be held in universal respect. Such a pity he was screwed in 1981, he was phenomenal, it must have been sickening for him. An all-time great, seems a very genuine guy too.
You were lucky. How ballistic did the crowd go at the end? What a travesty of justice. Danny was the clear winner, and Tom and Roy looked great too. Just as we thought things could not get worse after Sydney, in comes little Franco - bow legs, asymmetric small, smooth quads, little golf ball biceps and some of the worst gyno ever. What a waste of time for all these other guys.
I guess the crowd went ballistic(that was a long time ago{1981 Olympia); I know I did. I like Franco (have you read his book COMING ON STRONG?), but he didn't have it that day. I do believe Franco has the best back of all time.
Far From Over by Frank Stallone. From the movie "Stayin' Alive" (not to be confused with Saturday Night Fever, although both movies starred John Travolta)
i met and trained wit danny . known him for almost a year and he is a great guy .. smart as hell and humble yes. amazing trainer knows his stuff for sure... one of the best of all times.. and is messed up he got screwed out of alot of things but kept his head up... GIANT KILLER forever
We saw him in the parking lot in Columbus at the night show for 1979 Olympia (it was that or 78 contest as my mind is failing me). My buddy almost ran him over as we turned corner, he recognized him and yelled "Hiya Danny, go get 'em" and Padilla turned and waved with a big smile...you could tell it was genuine as most would have ignored! Why were contestants made to park in the regular lot? I always wondered
regarding the regular lot for the contestants: it's true they are unique in one way, but it's good for them to park in the reg. lot to keep their already giant EGO from getting any larger. I respect people like Mr. Padilla as he seems like a humble dude. At the 1981 Olympia I made an idiot of myself yelling GIANT KILLER........yeah, he should have won that one!

Danny Padilla didn't have any genetic weaknesses, did he? All his muscle bellies are long, full etc.

Great video..Padilla is one of the all time greats,i'd say second genetically only to Sergio.
Still,i think Makkawy deserved to win,he was in better shape and not exactly a slouch in the genes department either.

Squatting double bicep pose is a joke, but Danny is not! He should have won the 1981 Mr. O ! I should know since I was there!
