  • Which is a excellent thing to do but we need to do more to honor our friends and allies.

  • This is really good and im tearing up. Why dont we americans do anything like this for our allies?. The most i've seen on youtube were some soldier in iraq fixing up an old uk cemetary.

  • Thank you so much for posting this. My great grandfather's 2 eldest brothers really did "die to make men free." They were Methodist abolitionist, Philip & Jacob Hamlin. Philip died at Gettysburg with the Minnesota 1st & Jacob at Nashville with the Minnesota 7th. Just before his death, Philip wrote home that the end of Slavery was a cause worth dieing for. The solo brot me to tears.

  • my grandad is the conducter

  • conductors my grandad

  • Let's promote them to the FBI.

  • The anti-Choir Boys. These dudes give cops a good name. Nay, (legal speak) a GREAT name.

  • great passion from the soloist. enjoyed this very much. thankyou.

  • @cumbrianlasses

That was me! Thank YOU!! ... My wife uploaded the video.

  • Aww, this is nice. I'm super partial to America's Choir. Mormon Tabernacle Choir version of this hymn, but this is great, too. Bravo. Love the accent.

  • You are fantastic and a real credit to the force

  • Beautiful.

As an American, I have become accustomed to hearing how we are seemingly the cause of all the world's problems, which makes your wonderful tribute all the more touching. Thank you so very much.

  • Wonderfully done!

  • Great song. I wonder what this did to the morale of confederates who heard this.

  • just awesome and the solo singer has an incredible voice :D

do they have only festivals around the area of dorset or maybe one day in germany ???

    compliments from germany

  • @stoepselization

  • My compliments to the Dorset Police Male Voice Choir for singing this amazing patriotic hymn. I heard a live performance of that earlier at Ellensburg's Central Washington University, in honor of the upcoming Veterans Day in the United States and Remembrance Day in the Commonwealth of Nations, including the United Kingdom and Canada! Thanks for uploading! Greetings from the United States of America!

  • The real way Police should live! Way to live as an example! THANK YOU! What a breath of fresh air! This is beautiful and I am honored to have found it. More police should live this way! :0)

  • Thank you for your kind response.

  • Years ago, my Dad, and years later, I ,sang with a Men's Chorus called "The Valley Forge Songmen".Your video has brought so many wonderful memories of my Dad. "The Battle Hymn" was one of our collective favorites whenever performed. Your performance of the Hymn is, by far, more impressive that any other I've heard. I think what's bringing tears to my eyes is the almost exact arrangement that we performed. Is it possible you are singing a version arranged by Fred Waring. It sounds so very close.

  • Thank you for your nice story and warm comments! ... I will have to check with my husband for the arrangement: You could well be right ... By the way it is my husband who is singing the short solo.

  • Keep showing that well deserved pride. He's got a wonderful voice. (If only my voice could have been that good in my earlier days)

I would rather hear a "Men's Chorus" sing this piece than either a Female or mixed (example:Mormon Tabernacle). I just think the men can produce a more dynamic sound. As for the arrangement that I inquired - We used Fred Waring's music frequently. Although the voice is old and weak, please pass on my best to the men. (PS:I'm ALSO a retired Law Enforcement Officer.)

  • In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,

With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me,

As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free,

    While God is marching on...

  • thanks for the reply.I am senior supt nap Villegas,jr,a policeman like you.You can also watch the Servant of god police choir at Youtube.God bless us all
