  • Shit that thing kept accelerating hard as shit even at that speed. My '99 GT got up to 130 pretty quickly, but nothing like that lol. Unfortunately it wouldn't really go above that cause I guess because it was an automatic and the limiter kept it from doin so.

  • wait was he doing 145 in FOURTH? holy shit if he was

  • @JLPIMPIN1992 u do kno tat it was in km/h right?

  • @irssssss You jackass the km/h label is for the inside set of numbers....look before you post...

  • @Izlsnizzt ya i kno, tats y i said km/h not mph!!!!! bcuz i knew tat it was km/h!!!!!

  • @JLPIMPIN1992 152MPH was top speed in 4'th gear in a stock 96-98 Cobra. If you shift to 5'th, it will slow down to 135-140 because overdrive (5'th) is too big of a gear drop. This is one rare situation where changing the factory 3.27:1 rear diff to something like a 4.10:1 could actually make the car quicker and faster since it could allow the car to top out in 5'th gear instead of 4'th, because of the higher RPM's - like the car in the video.

  • bitch is fast. i didn't think they could move that quick at speeds like that without the 03/04 supercharger lol.

  • This car probably has a 305hp+ Aluminum 4.6L 32V DOHC V8 but its a little different that the 03/04 Iron block that runs less compression and a eaton supercharger for a total of 390hp.

The Aluminum 32v was used 1996-1998 and w/ small changes and a little more power was used in 1999 and 2001.

The 4v's have little to do with the SOHC 4.6L 2v's of the GT cars used in 1996-98 and in 1999-2004 with 45-50hp more.

  • The last year of the 5.0L in the mustang was 1995. The last year of the more potent 5.0 was in 1992 before Ford switched to a cheaper and weaker piston for 1993-1995. A a result the had to run less compression and made 10-15 less hp.

  • thats whats up i got a ? is that stock

  • what year is that?

  • Haha the trip mileage was shooting up like a bitch haha.

  • 99 and 01 was a High Output 4.6.. 2000 as stated was the cobra R with the 5.4 in it (N/A) and late 02 was what the tenth aniversary cobra was debuted with only 100 total made in 02..

  • god damn my cobra 5th gear barly tops 135 cause i got 3.53's

  • yeah hes just got stock gears in it I got 4.30s in mine and if i red line threw everygear i go into 5th at 114mph

  • its not a cobra just a gt. you cant hear the super and the acceleration was way to slow

  • yes, it is a cobra. just not a termi. if an older model GT would even THINK about hitting 6800 rpms, BOOM. haha, 2V's cant breathe like that.

  • A stock GT...you'd be surprised what a cam and head swap would get you in a GT. (Try double the power). That's stock everything else too.

  • its still a 2 valve...its not gonna help that much. its def. a 4V motor

  • double? no way, 300 to the wheels

  • its a 99 or 01 they didnt add the eaton untill 03 so every cobra older than that is all motor

  • yep...03 and 04 are the only two years they s/c the cobra. didnt make them in 2000 b/c of the cobra R and didn't make them in 02 because they were developing the termi.

  • actually they made 200 in 02 but they were all exports then they focused on the termi..but yeah alot of ppl just think all cobras come off the line with blower..good to see someone else actually something bout cars on here lol

  • only made 100 of them in 02 but svt dosent count recognize them as cobras so no 02 cobra

  • its a 96-98 cobra 99 and up had a digtial odometer

  • What year? It's not a terminator.

  • You need to get a speedcal. It will recalibrate your speedometer for you.

  • woooo that is dope

  • badass cobra by the way fuckers fast

  • that is NOT stock

  • LOL. more like YOU quickly approaching traffic. ;p Tight car. Love Cobra's

  • any mods??

  • Maybe not the new Zr1 pal..but I promise you the Gt500KR could, and if you want to check I suggest you read June 2007's motor trend.."540horse and ready to rip z06!"

  • Looks like this comment just went up in smoke, z06 killed it.

  • there goes ur full tank of gas u had! lol

  • What gears do you have in there???

  • stock 3.27

  • What gears do you have in there???

  • hey UncleHumjaba, 2v can rev very high as well

  • I rather get 03 04 supercharged cobra

  • Ur 130-140 picked up nicely, tune ur power curve based on that rpm set.

  • 03 SVT Cobra would kick ur Vetts ass.

    sorry

  • that was sarcastic fuckwit

  • Are you fucking kidding me? No factory built Mudstain could even touch a Z06 or even the new ZR1. Sorry, you loose.

  • no no..

the 03 svt cobra could possibly.

    0-60 in 4.5s

hey I'm not having an argument with you

    just a conversation.

  • Magracing = automatic loss.

The new Zed can hold it's own against a 500WHP Trans-Am. Your SVT would need a rear end girdle probably a whipple or a 2.3 Kenny Bell, and other supporting mods to hang. And this is from waht I've seen in REAL LIFE!

  • love the sound of those cars

  • +1 what mods do you have?

And it's definitely a cobra... a 2v would explode revving that high =P

  • 2V has same internals as that cobra, both have a crank balanced to 7k rpm's as well. heads/cams/block/intake manifold are what's different

  • Redline on PI 2v's is 5800, on cobras it's 6800. I guess it's valve float that happens when it goes up that high? At any rate, 2v isn't good.

  • Firstly redline is 6050 on 2v's, and with the right valve springs and (heads that wont restrict upt top) they can make power fine up until 6800-7k. It's not like the B head design that's in the cobra is revolutionary or anything, new stang SOHC 3V's out flow it.

  • Yes but if you port anything and put in good springs and anything will rev high. My point was stock-for-stock, the 4v > 2v. On my friend's 99 automatic the red on the tach starts at 5800 O.o On my 96 it's a 6000 but whatever.

  • Ur friend's must be a V6 then. At any rate, i was replying to your comment that a 2v would explode, referencing the internals which are most effected by high rpms. While that car has the same exact internals as a 2V.

    2v powaaaaaaaa!

  • what exactly have you done to your car? i did the pi swap on mine - by myself - so i'd venture to guess i might know a little bit about these engines. i can assure you my friends is not a v6. have you ever been in a 99-04 mustang? The "dont rev here" zone on the tach starts at 5800, with the "you REALLY should shift now!" starting a bit later.

at any rate, my original point still stands. 4v > 2v, ls1 > all, nuff said kthxbye i'm done.

  • "4v > 2v, ls1 > all"

thats funny as hell but then again

4v > 3v > 2v > hondas > wait, what the hell, that as bad as you can get

  • ehh...i wouldnt put the 2V in the same ballpark as the LS1. the 4V and LS1 are more evenly matched...maybe with the LS1 still on top by a slight margin. but as for the 4V termi motor, hahaha it doesn't stand a chance.

  • what is the terminator motor that ford has is that the 5.0 4v dohc motor

  • Nah, it's the 4.6 DOHC motor that they produced in the 2003-04 cobra's. I'm pretty sure they quit making the 5.0 back in 94 or 95, but I'm pretty sure it's coming back out either next year or in 2011.

  • its not the same 5.0 its a stroker version of the modular engine like the 4.6

  • 2V has a cast crank while the cobra has a factory forged crank capable of holding over 1000hp. John Mihovetz and its '02 TT cougar runs a built 4.6 MOD motor @ 50psi and has clocked a 6.31 @224 or so with the Teksid Aluminum block and a stock Ford cobra crank.

  • Wow, good call man. I dunno what the hell i was talking about, perhaps being tat they have the same rods/pistons? The rods go first anyways, not the crank on either apps, the cast one is good past 600whhp. I should have known about the cobra crank though, i'm running one in my .02 bored over forged shortblock manley/manley. Good catch, again.

  • yea no prob. mustang aficionado here too ha ha. yea thats the only bad part about the NA cobra...freakishly strong crank but weak (hyperutetic/cast) rods and pistons. in therory you could just upgrade the rods/pistons and just balance/blueprint the crank ud be set couldnt you?

  • For my shortblocK? Yeah, i could just balance the h-beams/18CC pistons to the cast crank. But i got a 97 shortblock as a side build for free. It spun a rod bearing so the crank would have had to be turned. So instead i picked up a cobra crank for $160 shipped. Which, even though it's heavier, means i don't need to worry about revving upt to and past 7k. Plus although i plan on running 500-530rwhp on the street, i may turn it up for the track and that assurance is nice.

  • its a 94-98 because i have a 97 cobra convertible and its the same dash board.

  • its a 96-98 the 94-95 cobrs dont rev that high cause of the pushrod motor. last of the 5.0

  • why doesnt it have the svt logo on the tach? Just Wonderin

  • the 93-01 cobras don't have it. it was cool ad on on the 03-04 cobras. i got an 01 cobra and wondered the same thing, and they don't glow at nite like the 03-04 either.

  • nice

  • كسها تمشي مشي in english that bitch wilde

  • sweet acceleration

  • what all do you have done to that car?
