I don't think your "Sousa" argument holds water at all. Internet technology hasn't given us back our vocal chords (in the musical sense), no more than the availability of CDs has. It has given people the ability to manipulate a limited stock of other people's vocal creations. Indeed, your example of those viral videos has one song essentially rendered in one way; like a rubber stamp in different colours.
