2k Sports has an semi-exclusive MLB contract that prevents other 3rd party companies from making a MLB baseball game. First parties (e.g. Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo) can all make a baseball game.

Sony decided to make MLB the Show. Microsoft can make an exclusive baseball game but has chosen not to. Nintendo can also make one but has chosen not to.

It's not Sony's fault.
