Hey bro I'm sorry that happened to ya and I'm glad you walked away from that, but thanks for posting it. That's an intense video. Don't take that the wrong i don't mean any disrespect. Where is summit point?
That could have been a lot worse, glad you made it out okay. Obviously, when it all goes wrong alot is happening in a short amount of time, but try to remember to take your hands off the wheel. That is a key rule to remember when in a bad "shunt". Your hands/arm could have been broken easily there, and then you would not have been able to get out on your own quickly. Add fire to the mix and it = Bad stuff.
There are lots of turns at lots of tracks that have danger, but you don't really sense it. Turn 4 at Summit is different. It's plain scary as hell. It's also as much fun as any turn I can think of. It would be nice, though, if there was some runoff room!
Glad you're OK. Cheap, safe track cars are your best protection (physically and financially).
one more lesson. don"t keep your hand on the wheel. try to correct it but then let go because if you saw that was moving pretty fast and it will break your hand and arm sometimes
Good question. He was a little fast around four and was running wide. It's hard to correct, but if you can correct (lift/brake) with the wheels straight, you might salvage the turn. Your bail out is to brake straight through turn 5 (sharp left coming up) and hopefully lose enough speed before you go off track at 5. There's more run-off room at 5..
Glad you made it out of this one. Out of curiosity what kind of car was it? That roof seemed to give an awful lot. Then again, I'm not a crash expert. This sure would sell me on HANS and a full cage.
Thanks for posting the video. Everyone makes mistakes. This is a good lesson on a common one not to make, especially in high speed turns like Turn 4 at Summit. Glad you appear to be okay.
I think it was great that the driver shared this video. This is a very important lesson for all to learn. Going through the ranks beginer to advanced, a driver should learn about lift throttle oversteer and that there are times that you DO NOT lift no matter what. Even though this driver lifted, he still could have saved it had he anticipated the rotation. Natural laws of physics always apply.
This happens in T10 as well, the result is a header into the pit wall.
Looks like you walked away from a pretty bad crash. You can see the roof give somewhat. Glad your okay. I guess you will remember Not to Lift next time
I'm sure you see that you were really early on 4. Pretty ballsy to post this up here. I applaud you. I put a car into the tirewall right there on my 3rd HPDE.

I ordered a HANS today after hearing of a fellow NASA member who broke his neck in 2 places in a somewhat minor crash.
