As far as I'm aware it is quite rare for Zizek to speak at such events. Could someone (who was present) provide some context for the protest, I'm guessing it was an anti-war gathering/march. Thanks!
They are protesting the opening of a U.S. military base in Prague. Zizek speaks at the International Socialist meetings in Brazil. In the film Zizek! he addresses some other crowds.
The first thing he said was: "I'm speaking the language of the enemy, but at least the enemy will have to understand us."
I'm working on a final paper for a class called After Lacan right now, working on Slavoj's article "I Hear You with My Eyes": or, The Invisible Master.
