as the guard leaves the barracks the guardsmen run up to flank the colours to give them symbolic and actual protection in the streets....marty

No, Im ex-army and that is what they are there for to scramble radio frequencies to prevent bombs being detonated near the men. Why would they need radio men on parade lol??

No, it is true. They introduced them after a remote bombing by the IRA on a parade of Guardsmen around 1980
