With a population over 50% of that of the US and EU combined, China has to achieve a little bit more than it has already, and its economy will be the equivalent of the US', as per GDP. If the US wants to maintaining a preeminence in world economies, it only has to shrink its government and government intervention in the economy, as advocated by the likes of Peter Schiff, et al, and expand its population by about 50%, via immigration of the best and the brightest from AfPakistan, for example.
