Bruce Lee also wasn't a proficient grappler. He was great with his hands but he wasn't as good at grappling.

Most recent example is Overeem who every assumes is just a kickboxer and his only chance against Brock was on the feet, but the guy has 19 wins by way of submission and 15 by KO just as Bas has 13 by sub and 12 by KO alot of people ignore how well rounded alot of theseguys are.

Bas winning more fights by sub than TKO seems to happen a fair bit with strikers but msot fans ignore it. Most recent example is Overeem who every assumes is just a kickboxer and his only chance against Brock was on the feet, but the guy has 19 wins by way of submission and 15 by KO just as Bas has 13 by sub and 12 by KO alot of people ignore how well rounded alot of theseguys are.

He would easily keep Tyson off of him with devistating muay thai kicks, palm strikes, elbows, knees, he would control the fight because he has waaay more tools in his arsenal. And on top of that, he could just take Tyson down and submit him. A boxer would get his ass whipped by an mma fighter, even if the boxer is as good as james toney or mike tyson. And Bas probably punches harder than Tyson anways...

Bas WAS great at many ranges, but if he came in to take Mike Tyson down, Mike hit forcefully enoug where if he got him even on the top or back of the skull it could knock him out or hurt him bad enough to thwart the takedown.

Bas might keep him away with his kicks, but it would be difficult. MIke Tyson was ridiculously fast and good footwork. However, if Bas was not allowed to use kicks, Mike Tyson certainly could out punch him. Mike Tyson would have the best HANDS in MMA history if he competed.
I do see what you are saying about fighting ranges and control of them. I also give Bas credit for being a knowldegeable self defense guy. I also think Fedor would do well in REAL life being from Russia

Plenty of guys have packed that kind of power. In an MMA fight Mike would be entirely relying on catching them with that one shot as the come in for the takedown.

Don't hate on Norris. He was winning Martial Arts tourney's & titles looooong before MMA. He's not just an actor who was taught a few roundhouse kicks, he was a legit Martial Artist & a legit badass before he was in movies... know your history, MMA fighters respect Norris.
