@cavalrytm Sell your A5, get an X7, and build off of that... I only did this with my A5 because when I did it the X7 didn't exist yet. It wasn't until a year or so later the X7 came out. Mods for the A5 tend to be a little on the spendy side compared to the X7. Also, plasic Vs. metal makes a big difference with this stuff. You just gotta decide what you really want, what you're willing to spend, and if the result of what is realistic is acceptable.
I actually didn't buy an A5 yet. My friend has an A5 that I have been using (while he's serving in Afghanistan, haha) and it has worked perfectly for me. Hasn't jammed or broken a ball at all... and I haven't cleaned it the entire time I've been playing, so it's taken some abuse!
Meanwhile my two other friends bought X7's and they've had many problems, every game. So that's turned me off. That, and the price! Some dirty used one at the store with no stock on it was $227!!!

@STRONGMARINES Got it from a local sporting goods store on clearance. They normally go for like $50-$100 new for the aluminum ones, and I can't say for sure what I paid--just remember it was on clearance and was a ridiculously good deal.
Im thinking of getting a tippmann I focus more on speedball and an empire mini tho when I play in the woods I'm one of the few people with a speedball marker and setup im not a big fan of vests I prefer to have a 4+1 tank harness pod belt for the woods I don't use much paint instead of flatlines I have a separate apex barrel
@michealharland Mine is auto exactly like the X7. In this vid it has the response trigger. The stock A5 is only Semi-auto. I have since upgraded to the selector switch e-grip which is what the fully auto X7's have on them. When I got my A5 the X7 was not yet in existence or I would have gone in that direction.
@sweepineagle When it's mounted to the carry handle you can see through the dot sight. The biggest problem with the hopper being in the way. It's a very tight fit, and works best if you can find a mount with a slight offset.

@Antropic1 yeah for the money i'd say that's a good buy. seems obvious but with the remote line make sure you have a harness that holds the air canister. also if you're spending that much money its better to buy an hpa tank than a co2 one. another option to consider is the tippmann us army alpha black tactical.

@gmpk13711 That's a cheap NCstar scope. I have a Center Point red/green dot scope now. Supposed to be water proof and shock proof....good for paintball. I like the center point much better than the one shown in the video.
@tcherassi1 From what I know compressed air is pretty much always better...I don't know any situation where Co2 would be better. Difference is the cost of the tank. Compressed air tanks are also a lot cheaper than they used to be. Another thing is availability; I'm sure you can fill somewhere, but I only know where to fill Co2 in my area because paintball isn't all that big. As for a tank, the bigger the numbers, the more air it holds and the less you have to fill up.

@jamez566 been a while, but the mag was like $35, the stocks you can get for like $25, and the barrel came in a kit with the barrel, the front sight, and the shroud--all are metal, very high quality and the kit was something like $100.
@Josephthecrazyguy No it won't work...unless you have a really long long barrel, then it's going to look like some kind of tactical M16 rather than M4. Not sure how well the body and barrel shroud would match up either. But that particular shroud covers a chunk of your barrel

to built that from a stock a5 likely around 1200 or more,prob more than hed like to admit...so start saving those penies...you can make an a5/x7 a pretty badass milsim for next to nothing you just have to be good with your hands and have good ideas. dont buy a gun based on its looks alone though, buy things that you will use. like a mag looks good but is also a perfect grip.

@ElectronicWorld101 If it's labeled as a "16" Tippmann 98 Custom RIS Tactical Paintball Barrel" and you have a 98 custom pro, it will work on your gun. A-5 barrels will work with an adapter. There is even adapters to make spider barrels work on tippmanns--but yes, if that's how it's labeled it will work no adapters needed.
@ElectronicWorld101 I'm guessing the threads in the picture are smaller/more narrow than those for your 98 custom? They probably have the barrel for multiple models of guns, the one in the picture is probably for an A-5. Even though it says it's for 98, they probably used the same picture for that barrel regaurdless of the gun model they are advertising. If you order it, and select tippmann 98, the threads will be different than those in the pic--and will fit your gun.
Can someone tell me, if I put a M4 style stock on my A5, would I have to use a remote line, or would it be fine with the HPA bottle on the gun? Like would the botle get in the way of the stock?
@Reaper0 I'm pretty sure you should be fine. At very most you'd have to go one or two clicks out on the stock to make it work. Either way if you have $30 to spare you should get a remote line, it makes a huge difference in your overall game--less weight, less fatigue, more movement, better look, etc.

@giannistzag Not sure if that's supposed to be funny or just mean...but yes, actually they do. You can shoot pepper balls with them for riot control. They've used them for a while. There are ones specialized for that purpose, but also pepper balls available that work out of regular paintball guns. ;-)
@Dmajorproductions I think they use a variety of things just depending on the purpose. I know they do a more specialized training, usually with swat or higher with real guns and kind of a waxy paint ammunition in place of the bullets--but still a shell with a load behind the bullet. Paintball/pepperball/waterball guns are used in riot control, and I think they use some airsoft in scenario training....but real guns with no ammo are also used at times in scenario training.
nice. i just got an a5 2 edays ago. im not to sure what else im going to put on it. i have a 12 inch lapco bigshot barrel w/ apex which is amazing and a trinity carstock. i plan on putting in a responce trigger.
i got the tippmann project slavo with a 20in barrel, i got a cyclone feeder for it along with the cyclone feeder that holds 450...still thinking if i should get a laser sight.

@shymattt I don't think they do. It's probably a sling with a clip on the end so they can un-clip and re-clip the the gun to themselves easily without removing the sling. If they do hook it to the vest it's prbably similar--just a clip.

@shymattt i've got the rap4 strikeforce vest with the rap4 quick disconnect sling. the sling is a 2 or 4 piece design. one half is connected to the rings on the vest of the sholders, and the othe half is connected to the marker. therefore, i can just clip and unclip when needed. i think one of my vids shows a glimps of what it looks like.
@MrKarma1974 Neither. It's just the M4 barrel from opsgear. I would recommend the straightline barrel though---not flatline but straightline. Normal barrel with riflings.

It IS metal though. I got it all in a kit (the barrel, the front sight, the hand guard) for around $100. The barrel alone is $50 and the front sight alone is like $60 or something, but is "military grade". They had my order on back order and didn't tell me for 3 weeks or it would have been $140.

to built that from a stock a5 likely around 1200 or more,prob more than hed like to admit...so start saving those penies...you can make an a5/x7 a pretty badass milsim for next to nothing you just have to be good with your hands and have good ideas. dont buy a gun based on its looks alone though, buy things that you will use. like a mag looks good but is also a perfect grip.

@Jsouthwell2006 It in fact did come with that on it, that's the only reason it's on there in the vid. Most any time I play with the vest the police and swat AREN'T on it, because they act as a big white target, screaming "SHOOT ME!"

@ElectronicWorld101 If it's labeled as a "16" Tippmann 98 Custom RIS Tactical Paintball Barrel" and you have a 98 custom pro, it will work on your gun. A-5 barrels will work with an adapter. There is even adapters to make spider barrels work on tippmanns--but yes, if that's how it's labeled it will work no adapters needed.

@ElectronicWorld101 I'm guessing the threads in the picture are smaller/more narrow than those for your 98 custom? They probably have the barrel for multiple models of guns, the one in the picture is probably for an A-5. Even though it says it's for 98, they probably used the same picture for that barrel regaurdless of the gun model they are advertising. If you order it, and select tippmann 98, the threads will be different than those in the pic--and will fit your gun.

Can someone tell me, if I put a M4 style stock on my A5, would I have to use a remote line, or would it be fine with the HPA bottle on the gun? Like would the botle get in the way of the stock?

@Reaper0 I'm pretty sure you should be fine. At very most you'd have to go one or two clicks out on the stock to make it work. Either way if you have $30 to spare you should get a remote line, it makes a huge difference in your overall game--less weight, less fatigue, more movement, better look, etc.

@giannistzag Not sure if that's supposed to be funny or just mean...but yes, actually they do. You can shoot pepper balls with them for riot control. They've used them for a while. There are ones specialized for that purpose, but also pepper balls available that work out of regular paintball guns. ;-)

@Dmajorproductions I think they use a variety of things just depending on the purpose. I know they do a more specialized training, usually with swat or higher with real guns and kind of a waxy paint ammunition in place of the bullets--but still a shell with a load behind the bullet. Paintball/pepperball/waterball guns are used in riot control, and I think they use some airsoft in scenario training....but real guns with no ammo are also used at times in scenario training.

@shymattt I don't think they do. It's probably a sling with a clip on the end so they can un-clip and re-clip the the gun to themselves easily without removing the sling. If they do hook it to the vest it's prbably similar--just a clip.

@shymattt i've got the rap4 strikeforce vest with the rap4 quick disconnect sling. the sling is a 2 or 4 piece design. one half is connected to the rings on the vest of the sholders, and the othe half is connected to the marker. therefore, i can just clip and unclip when needed. i think one of my vids shows a glimps of what it looks like.

@25TBallard lol, sorry dude, somehow I missed all these comments from you. Probably from Youtubes gay new setup. Anyway it's roughly like 7 inches long and I think is $65 by itself. It IS metal though. I got it all in a kit (the barrel, the front sight, the hand guard) for around $100. The barrel alone is $50 and the front sight alone is like $60 or something, but is "military grade". They had my order on back order and didn't tell me for 3 weeks or it would have been $140.
