  • amazing. nice job! inspiring me to work on mine more! lol

  • first minute of video is worthless argh, good video though.

  • Hey, question, which Harmony model are you using?

  • @continentallax I'm using a Harmony One

  • I've been looking to convert a spare room in the house to a home theatre, and I'm very impressed by your design. Its very simple, does exactly what I want to do and looks great.

  • Hey what kind of ceiling do you have? Did you do it yourself?

  • @asdfxyz1 This is a drywall ceiling with a tray. the actual ceiling height of my basement is 9' but it's lowered in places to hide ductwork, pipes, etc. In the theater area the bottom of the tray is 8'

  • Sweet ! Very nice set up !

  • Is your buffalo repeater hooked to your lutron switches if so how?

  • @djicemansc Yes it is using IR eyes. I have a video showing how to do this.

  • Wow! Thanks for sharing. Is this a real expensive feature.

  • I like it.. just my opinion, but I would of put my components into the side wall.

  • @LEWIS3845 that wasn't an option because on one side is a concrete foundation wall, and on the other is another room. I've recently reconfigured my screen wall and all of the components are now hidden (I drywalled over the opening) and accessible from the closet behind the screen. There's a new video showing that.

  • I would like to know what speakers you have and how they sound?

  • @darkshines281 They are some Phoenix Gold in-walls. They are adequate, but I just replaced them with some Polk Audio Monitor70 Series II tower speakers and CS2 center channel. If you have the room, go for the tower speakers.

  • Thank you :)

  • What's the size of your room?

  • @kontrolfreek1 about 15'x20'

  • @URPREY lots of room to hump and jump

  • @URPREY .....This is absolutely amazing. Is there a way you can let me know everything i need to make this happen? I love the controlled lighting when you pause the movie they come on. Thank you so much!!

  • @continentallax watch my other home theater videos. I've shown which components and how to connect them

  • @URPREY Sweet, will do!! Im inspired man, thank you.

  • @continentallax Hey i checked out the other videos, great vids!! Only thing is I'm going to pick up all the items i need this weekend. Im using a Samsung 6000 LED 55, & i wanted to know what parts do i need to get the lighting to do the same as yours, & also to have them turn on when i pause a movie then off when i un pause the movie? Im picking up the Harmony also to control it. Thank you.

  • whats the model of your projector?

  • @kontrolfreek1 Mitsubishi HC4900

  • @URPREY how would you rate it out of 10?

  • @kontrolfreek1 when I got it 4 years ago it was 8/10. Now it's probably 6/10. There are better projectors for less money now. Epson makes some great projectors

  • @URPREY ok thanks so much!!

  • @URPREY Can tell me what is the Color Number for the Paint on the Paint on the walls? Cuz I am going to copy you set up. Thanks!

  • @Epic125e the paint color is Banyan Green, and it's from Porter Paints. I have no idea what the number is but they will be able to find it by the name.

  • FukN BaDD AzZ!

  • nice.

  • I've had this on my favorites for a long time .. It's exactly what I want in my setup. I finally have a chance to do it, but I have some questions I'll send a message from my pc later

    Thank for the upload

  • I just love it. Awesome work.

  • WOW!

  • very nicely done.. looks great.

  • sweet

  • Hey, i was just wondering if i have a logitec one, how can i program the controler so that when i press play the lights dim?

  • @mostlyconcept You have to program a sequence for dimming the lights and sending a play command. You then assign that sequence to the play button for your remote.

  • @URPREY thanks!

  • really nice setup. how long it took you to afford it and where did you get it? Im working on somthing like that as well.

  • @angeltechdude I've been gradually adding to this over several years. You should be able to do all of this for a few thousand dollars if you do the work yourself.

  • fucking rich

  • very, very nice

  • Awesome I love it and I want it!!!

Tell me what kind of lights i need to buy I already have a Harmony One.

    You are awesome!

  • @aristoti Thanks! All of the information about the IR controllers is contained in my comments below. I'm using can lights but this will work with lots of different lights

  • you have a cool room

  • @jtittlej623 Thanks!

  • you should get bigger speakers

  • @TruKushKing Bigger does not always equal better...

  • Very nice man! Wow...you it just the way I would have it!

  • does your harmony emit X10 RF to control the lighting or is it really IR?

I'm working on a similar setup using RedEye but can't find a way to control lights with just IR... Thanks.

  • @shoruk my Harmony One is IR only

  • @URPREY Awesome news! Definitely going to check out their offerings to try and get something similar. Are there IR codes that are programmed specifically for the Lights? (did Harmony have them pre-programmed?)

  • the screen backlightning would annoy me during movies..

  • very very nice dude , but with the size of your living room you could get a 120'' or 150''

  • @robydoidao this video is a couple years old. I've since upgraded to a 124" screen, and hidden the component rack, and mlved all my equipment into the closet behind my screen.

  • @URPREY oh , nice dude brilliant idea , Im thinking to buy a 150'' fixed screen to my room :D

  • You have way too much money.

  • i love it great job

  • very n!ce ..

  • Amazing!

  • That's fucking awesome!

  • awesome

  • I cant stand projectors!! But watching this seriously changed my mind.

  • Awesome!

  • so rich!

  • I like ... I want ... lol ... VERY NICE !!!!

  • cool check mine out!!!

  • my wife would like to know what kind of light fixtures do you have and just to clarify you said "abs forums?"

  • @evoutionlms it is avsforum dot com and I am using incandescent can lights

  • @URPREY ---- AWESOME AMAZING

  • @URPREY

Currently I have 3 lutron MIR-600. If I try to turn on one, all three switches pick up the same IR signal from my harmony one. If I get the 3 SPC-600 instead, can I control them all separately or will I have interference problems similar to my situation now? All my dimmers are in one location hence no need for the buffalo repeater. Great setup!

  • @Nupster7 The Spacer switches also pick up the same signal. The difference is that they can be programmed for 4 different scenes. so for example, you set scene 1 differently for each switch and when they get the signal they each do what you want them to do.

  • DO you have any idea about how much did u payed?...

  • @hsrwp in the comments below I stated that the dimmers cost about $75 each, and the repeaters cost around $100. I'd guess there's $400 worth of equipment to control 3 separate sets of light switches in 3 different locations

  • @URPREY - Thanks man, u really did a nice job for low cost...I loved...maybe I´ll do the same, I just need find one dimmer that can handle with Led bulbs...

  • @URPREY

I also use the Lutron Spacer system. The dimmers vary by price. I bought from Beverly Hills Electric online. Excellent customer service to add. The lights can also be controlled with Harmony Remotes. Set up to four scenes as you mentioned previously and just tap numbers 1-4 to control the desired scenes. Simple way to purchase, add up the can lights by wattage and by the required dimmer. Nice theater bro.

  • @gixxerrydder great advice. I'm using a Harmony One with mine, and have both scene numbers as well as macros. Works great.

  • @URPREY Just wondering what are you using for projector?

  • @gixxerrydder I currently have a Mitsubishi HC4900

  • this is just my suggestion. i think ps3 is better if you want a home theater. because it has a blue ray player.

  • @TheMusicBot I have a PS3 also (and a Wii too), but I mainly use my Xbox 360 because I'm using a home theater PC with a cablecard tuner, and the 360 acts as a Media Center Extender so I can watch live TV using my 360s everywhere in the house

  • how do you set the light to go off when u hit play and on when pause? i have ps3 with harmony connect and harmony one remote

  • @brijesh88 you have to create a sequence for each event. For example, the sequence for pause on my PS3 is (pause, PS3) and (lights on, scene 4). You then assign that sequence to the pause button and it replaces the original pause function with the sequence.

  • @URPREY thanks very much for your help!!!!

  • Hey what projector is this? It looks amazing, nice set up as well. I'm debating between LCD and DLP, which do you prefer?

  • @insaurralde009 This is a Mitsubishi HC4900 LCD projector. I've had both DLP and LCD - both are great. LCD is quieter

  • @URPREY what ratio does yours have? and do you know a website i can go to or i just type in "ratio calculator" in google?

  • @evoutionlms mine is 16:9 - you can google screen size calculator and one of the first hits will be what you need

  • @URPREY im getting a projector and i was wondering about the screen...ive seen videos with "100" or "120" and "160" i was wondering how do i get my screen to my desired size?

  • @evoutionlms depending on the aspect ratio for your screen (16:9 or 2:35:1, etc) you would use that ratio to figure out the width based on the height. There are tons of calculators online that do this for you

  • how much did the whole lighting setup cost ? .exclude harmony remote.

  • @asim14545 the dimmers cost about $75 each, and the repeaters cost around $100. I'd guess there's $400 worth of equipment to control 3 separate sets of light switches in 3 different locations

  • @URPREY Could you post links to all components for the lighting? are the spacer controlled only by the harmony?

  • @Kinglevel it's really going to depend on your specific setup. I've posted the part numbers in the comment thread. The spacer are controlled either manually or by the Harmony

  • Well done

  • URPREY Hello can you help me I want a sys like your light's setup what controller model and the light switch model and were to get the stuff and a good price and you say AVS forum can you point me in the right Thread sorry to bug you but its so new to me. oh and I went to my local stores down here no one know shit so I am stuck any help be nice thankx

  • @sniperwolfghostrecon I can't post links but search AVS for Lutron Spacer system - if you're not handy with electrical stuff you may want to hire someone. It's not hard but I did a ton of research online before I did it. I bought all the dimmers online from dimmers dot net

  • are you using x-10 for the lights or z wave??

  • @riddimz171 neither; I'm using Lutron Spacer dimmers

  • @URPREY and these dimmers are completely compatible with harmony remotes (1100) ? or did you have to get some sort of ir converter for the signal

  • @riddimz171 I'm using them with a Harmony One. These are IR controlled dimmers

  • @URPREY oh okay perfect thanks! btw do you have the link to the AVS forum you got your info from?

  • @riddimz171 google "avs" and "forum". It's the first hit.

  • and screen too

    thanks

  • @dagtennis I built the screen with aluminum tubing and countertop laminate

  • @URPREY because of how amazing your set-up look (really an amazing job), would you mind giving me a link to the place where I can get the same laminate and aluminum tubing

    thanks so much

  • @URPREY can you send me the links for the screen materials?

    thannks

    truly amazing

  • @dagtennis everything came from Home Depot. 1" square tubing, WilsonArt DW laminate. There's a thread at avsforum with all the details

  • what kind of projector did u get?

  • @dagtennis it's a Mitsubishi HC4900

  • I have a question for you Urprey. I was wondering if i could get that paint code your using on the walls. Ive seen this video tons of times and still cant get a color to match it. Any help would be great! Thanks!!

  • @3dscott I actually get that question a lot. It's "Banyan Green" from Porter Paints.

  • Thank you!!!@URPREY

  • i wish u wer my freind n i could call u one day. n fix all of dat in my room

  • when you buy a 1080P projector it inst 1080P when it is projected onto your wall (: but i love your set up very very nice

  • @shuffle953 I have no idea what you mean. It's displaying 1920 x 1080 on the wall.

  • @URPREY it says that it is but when the actual picture is on the wall it looses quality but it all depends on the screen/wall you have and wat paint you use for the wall you can buy paint for projector screens but i dont know where to get that stuff nice sey up anywys (:

  • @URPREY Hello, Just to clarify what shuffle953 meant is, when the light being projected from the projector(at 1080p) exits the lens, it is refracted(bending of light) and reflected as it is dispersed to fit your screen, thus the pixels are enlarged and not increased by numbers hence the image you get on your screen, is not 1080p compared to the image generated in the projector. Other than that it is a very impressive setup.

  • @URPREY that means , it's display full HD :)

  • @shuffle953 that was a fail. you can clearly see the screen.

  • @JoesTechReviews i didnt say you couldn't see the screen dummy durrr

  • I LOVE IT

  • that is SWEET!

  • OMG DUDE we got the SAME couch!... AWESOME

  • I would rate it 9/10.. but considering you have an XBOX 360 I'd notch it up to 10/10 =D!!!

  • i agree with trigahappyroy, would be very nice to see how you set that up! Great job, looks very clean and professional!

  • woowwww, thats really impressive, GREAT JOB!!

  • Please, Please, Pleaseee make a video showing how you step this up! :)

  • @trigahappyroy If I can figure out how to make a video showing how to set this up and not make it appear more complicated than it is, I will :-)

  • @URPREY Thankyou! :)

  • what do you do for living? what kind of job do you do?

  • @hassoow93 I'm a manager for a government contractor. I do IT and call center work.

  • Thats very cool my friend. I plan on building a home theatre when I get out into my own house. Right now I have a budget theatre. :) The lighting is very cool man.

  • That's a pretty nice setup you have man!

  • This is superb ...

  • What model is your harmony remote?

  • @Er0ck13 I have a Harmony One. In other rooms we use the 550 or 880.

  • @URPREY I have an 1100 but just found out Logitech stripped the Sequencing feature from the 1100 and 900.

  • @Er0ck13 that's a bummer. Have you called their support? They are usually very helpful in working through issues like that.

  • pretty cool!

  • how much does these projectors cost?

  • @KillyWildlands from $600 up.

  • can you provide me the link where you figured out how to set up the lighting

    thanks and nice theater!

  • @soccerob12 thanks! Go to avsforum dot com for some great tips on setting up the lighting

  • Se ve la raja weón, está espectacular man.

  • That.. IS... SO.... FUCKING...SICK

  • Comment removed

  • That is SO damn cool!

  • Comment removed

  • So what are the exact dimmers that you used and how does it interface with your remote? How much control do you have with this remote? would you be able to make a video of the remote function screen when you dim the lights or use its function?

  • @surferdude1115 I listed every component in the comments below. The remote function is tied to the play and pause buttons so there isn't anything to see. It's all done as a sequence in the Harmony remote software. I can pretty much do whatever I want with the Harmony.

  • WOWWWWW!!!!

  • hi im really intrested in this kind of lighting setup for my room. could you link me to where you got you knolage from about the lighting. thanks!

  • Oooooooooo that's so coooool and the lights ate sooo pretty

  • Am building my Home Theater right now. Check out Bryan's home theater part 1. Question for you, how does your paint color do? I've been doing a lot of reading, and they seem to advise against anything other than Black, Gray, or dark colors in general. An issues with picture or glare from paint?

  • @golfing22002 the green is dark enough not to matter. The white ceiling has some glare, but since it's a multi-purpose area, I live with it. Definitely use flat paint and you'll be fine. My basement is completely light controlled so it can be pitch black whenever I need it.

  • How many IR dimmer switches do you have?

  • @golfing22002 three

  • Damn, thats such a beautiful setup!

  • nice setup. how did you get the harmony to control the lights when you hit play/pause? is it an option in the logitech menu?

  • @00Mandingo00 you set it up as a sequence in the Harmony software

  • help pleez i want to build a home theater but want to know how do you get all your movies already to play in your projector i want to like have a libary of them so i can just click one and it will play right away

  • @AaronFlores1000 your best bet is to start reading online forums. There are tons of resources on how to rip your DVDs and Blu-rays to your computer and they explain it better than I could

  • @AaronFlores1000 get a kaleidescape system... freakin expensive but fantastic

  • i am gonna be using sps-600 for celling lights and another sps-600 for extra lights on the wall and one more sps-600 for rope lights around the celling and screen... so in total 3 sps-600 and one sps-5wc the master control and one sps-5wcr for remotely mounted control next to the receiver... is that good set up .. idk if i am doing it right for the rope lights should i use sps-600 ...

  • @brijesh88 I elected to use a Buffalo IR repeater system instead of using a master control. Depending on where your switches are mounted it may be less expensive to do that. For the rope lights I used a SPS-300LD-RP to plug the rope lighting into and control the dimming on that

  • @URPREY but where i am sitting down i wont be able to see the switches that are mounted on the wall so ur saying use 2 sps-600 for 2 swtiches and use sps-300ld-rp to plug the rope light ... and it would work fine with harmony remote .. will the signal reach and what is the exact model number for buffalo ir repeater... and where will the buffalo go .. will it go in gangbox or how do i doit...

  • nice

  • i just talked to some lutron guy and he said it could run from 1500 to 4000

    ?

  • @brijesh88 I did all mine myself. If you have to pay someone to come in and do it there's no telling how much it will cost. The individual light switches cost about $75 each.

  • nice! how much did that all cost u?

  • @chriscmac23 the lighting setup was around $250

  • you should watch avatar on blu-ray on that screen! it will look amazing!!!

  • Love the setup!! You inspired me to work on my theather room...One problem....I Have the lutron ir wall switches in my room I just purchased the logitech 1100 remote having a problem with the lights cause i have to hold the remote in the air and aim towards the switch panel because the switches are in the back of the room for the signal to be sent. Is there some type of device that would send the signal without have to aim at the switche panel.....ThaNKs

  • does each home theature come with always 7.1 or is there some that have 5.1?

  • @Blazingwheel it depends on the surround sound receiver that you purchase.

  • @URPREY k thanks
