  • Anyone else think that their eye contact feels really awkward?

  • This makes me feel great seeing people trying to start running because i do triathlons that are 1.5k swim 40k cycle and 10 k run and im only 15 :)

  • I watched this VID 4 times now and 'I just cannot find any usefull information in it.

To run 5K you just have to run. There´s no need to bulk up muscle-mass or wear a cool outfit or talk 1000 calories away with a nice smile on your face. I find it weird - taking training-tipps for runners from someone who is carrying 20pounds of useless muscle-mass with himself.

  • 1. Motivation to run daily = Cops Runaway

    2. Charity = I need charity more then the others.

    3. Involve with community = Facebook does that forme.

    What troll answer o0'

  • @brunozxch2o you need more exercise bro

  • breaking 17:00 is the hardest thing i have ever tried to do. i ran 17:19 at my lest race.

  • @The70srockfan So close dude!!! Breaking 17 is impressive.

  • @cicirunner I just knew cicirunner would be on the comment board!

  • I doubt I could walk 5k let alone run it.

  • @barsa527 LOL

  • MY PROGRAM/PLAN>

-Run every second day,and increase your distance little by little every week(for begginers after 2 weeks).

-Rest(stopping) during the training for long race is not recommended. Its better to slow down, but keep your body activated.

-There is no instant motivation. There is a purpose, your goal. And when you have that, you will have true motivation and path in front of you.

    -Never give up.

  • i bet hes on steroids... lol

  • @DrummerSlugger13

    Why? Because he's in shape?

  • He considers 2-3 miles as your long run? Oh please this guy has probably never run a race in his life.

  • this shit didnt help

  • ....Im 12 and my fastest 5k is 20minute:46 seconds my fastest mile is 5 minutes 55 seconds, no idea how i id that mile

  • Im a Freshman and im 14. Im on my school cross country team and my last race time was 17:23. I think thats pretty good and im looking to improve

  • @spiceMAN1215 im 12 and ran 15:30 u mad brah?

  • @vulva45 actually there have been 12 year olds to run 15:30 (I'm guessing your comment was sarcastic). A 17 year old ran 12:53 a few weeks ago. World record=12:37

  • I am 14 and right now my record is 19:52 and I have stayed around that time for a long time... Why can't I get better!?!?!

  • @RaGeRunning try adding some speed work by sprinting in intervals for example rune for a minute then sprint for 30 seconds

  • @RaGeRunning Start steadily increasing your milage and do some speed workouts.

  • Damn I can feel the sexual tension going between these two here. Check those bedroom eyes.

  • i only run 21 but i'm more speed, i wanna improve in distance running, an tips?

  • world record is 12:37 or 4:04 per mile. wonder how he trains

  • @xxxDAPROBLEMxxx He, Haille, ran 10 km to and from school for years. That's how he trains.

  • @xxxDAPROBLEMxxx snorting cocaine and he had a jamaican leg implant.

  • my first ever 5k i ran in 23:10 and i had never ran before

  • lol she looks like shes ready to get it.

  • that guy is a fuckin meat head lets see his fat ass run fast and i bet she sucks his little pecker off

  • @tombooze25 well having all that core strength can make him a lot faster. its not really how much you weigh. its how much pain you can take. one of the runners on my team got a state championship for sc. and he was 5" 7' and about 160. his time was 16:30 i think. that is fucking fast. so suck my pecker bitch.

  • @tombooze25 stfu dumbass

  • Bullshit reasons LOL

  • This should be called A BEGINNERS GUIDE TO THE 5k! you have to run more than 3 miles on your long runs if you expect to come anything but last place...

  • @sueyking I think that's the point of video... showing how u can "complete" the 5k ;D

i think it was indeed made for amateur runners. ;D

  • dont hate theyre just trying to help, you are not superior to someone because you are faster.

  • she probably fucks him all the time...

  • @meetkinggarrett probably? :D

  • 4 & 1/2 weeks until my first 5k! Wooooooo! Been running for 3 weeks so far. I'm gonna go out so fast. I hope i get in the 21 to 20 range. Thumbs up for puking!

  • lady is stupid and annoying.

  • If she shakes her head one more time I'm going to break it.

  • at the gym i run 2 miles without stopping which is approximately 24 minutes. Is this bad for my knee joints?

  • @LAO90 12 minutes for each mile. nope xD

  • @LAO90 LOL ofc no. Don't think of your joints, just RUN

  • @LAO90 No, you only do damage to your joints if you run everyday and run, run run without taking rest days for your joints to rest and recover

  • @LAO90 It would depends a lot on your body weight and if the muscles around your joints are built up in order to provide protection.

  • @LAO90 ..

    Yes.

  • i love all the little children lieing about there time...

  • How would you guys say 19:46 is for a 14 year old? I've done some training on my own but we haven't started high school 5k training yet. Thanks.

  • @VRKjonny I know you are lying but yeah thats a pretty good time

  • when i first started i think i was at like 45minutes haha i wasnt out of shape doing sprints or anything but i just never did longer distances. i realized i didnt know how to pace myself and overdid it to quick and then burnt out early. once you can run about 10minutes at a fast pace you realize that just keeping that pace and adding 1-2minutes to it every week or so you build up the endurance for the race real quick without struggling.

  • i am at about 24minutes right now but i want to start increasing the distance now while keeping up that pace for as many extra miles as i can build up to

  • I did a charity fun run today :D, out of i think 75, i came 7th with a time of 16:50, should i be proud?, it's my first one and i never trained :D

  • @RawrRawrRawr58 You should and there is now way u did that

  • uhh, a 16:50 5K with no training? Are you sure it wasn't like a 3K?

  • @drone713 Yep :) Chomodeley or something like that, fun run :D

  • ...judging by your name, and your constant use of smiley faces, I'm guessing you're a girl. And in that case, you're DEFINITELY lying.

  • @drone713 Lmao you fucking retard, your judging skills are bullshit, haha i was being friendly with my smiley faces you fag LOL you make me laugh!

  • You're calling me the fag, when you're acting like a little fucking girl, sending smiley faces to other guys? How more homosexual can you get?

  • @drone713 Im pretty sure alot of guys to it you tard.

  • All the fucking gay ones! Smiley faces are for little girls, you fucking pansy.

  • @drone713 No, im pretty sure alot of normal people do it, you just have no life mate

  • Okay, maybe a lot of YOUR friends do, because all your friends are fucking pansies just like you. I can't believe you're trying to justify using smiley faces. Stop being such a wimp.

  • @drone713 No no, lol im sure everyone does it, well mostly everyone.. :)

  • No, everyone really doesn't. Fucking fruit.

  • @drone713 Wow, im offended, calling me a fruit. LOL

  • LOL ZOMG DEEWD!!!111

  • @drone713 Lol...

  • @drone713 We've argued alot, scroll down :O

  • that's like nothing...

  • @drone713 What do you mean?

  • ....figure it out, genius.

  • @drone713 Make me.

  • Okay.

  • @drone713 dude some people are just fucking beast. a 7th grader on my xc team just ran a 17:30 and he has only been to like 2 practices.

  • @Jonathontheone Holy shit post a video of him now. I know a Freshman who can run a 15 minute 5k!!! I do a like 19 minute.

  • @Sephirot4678 a freshman that can do a 15 min. 5k? doubt it.. thats very close to the world record...and the best runner in my state who is a senoir now i think runs his in over 15min.

  • @JiffGomez dude theres a girl in cali who is a freshman who runs a 5k in like 15 min

  • @JiffGomez He's really good. Look up Dan Kurts or Dan Curts and you should get his name or go to Sub5.com

  • all you need to do to get better times is to put in a lot of miles. I personally put in 40 to 50 miles a week as a freshman in high school. and you also need to have speed workout days were you do like 400s and things like that to improve on your speed.

  • I just ran my first 10K this weekend. I didn't or anything, but jeez it felt great to cross the finish line at a respectable time. I'll be back for more!

  • damn 19:44 is good but the 18s r great!

  • I'm trying to get my time under 20 minutes. I train in speed intervals through out the week, then a 'full out' on Saturday. Thanks for the video.

  • im trying to beat my fastest of 19:44. I want to be in the 18s.

  • wow, i have the same time and goal

  • awesome! u in the military?

  • @tankshot009 no, but im a freshman in highchool that runs cross counrty

  • Awesome stuff. keep it up! it will serve you well in the future.

  • ty then

  • good job

  • god

  • when i first started. i had never ran before. after about 5 races it was easy and running them in 20-22 minutes. which is slow but o well. and took a few years off now running them in 24-26 mins.

but running races especially 5k's are awesome because you can set your own goals and you can win when you achieve them. just because you didn't come in 1st 2nd or 3rd doesnt mean you didn't win

  • @pbmaniac51

20-22 minute 5k's are pretty darn good ;)

  • thanks. right now my times are really high probably because im focusing on building muscle and short term endurance. once summer comes ill probably be training for longer distances again

  • @pbmaniac51

hey man , how long did it take you to get from never running before to lets say below 30 min

That is my goal for my first 5k race

  • @woo2fly21 At the time I was already in semi-shape because I was playing football, but I would say about a month of training everyday or 5-6 days out of the week. What I did was come home from school and rest, then about an hour before it got dark I would just run about half a mile then gradually worked my way up to 3,4,5 miles. I will send you a message because I cant finish

  • @pbmaniac51 20-22 mins is not slow for a 5k, thats actually a pretty nice time

  • @pbmaniac51 agreed. who cares who wins what. It's all about going out there

  • one of the hardest things to do for me is running 10 mile races then out of the blue run a 5k........ rele hard to adjust.!!

  • forever doing this training

  • i just ran a 5k on saturdayyy:)

  • i run 4.7 kms on alternate days

  • omg i dont know what to do ive been running a mile everyday and i still get tired just running 1 mile can someone help me? i want to run long distances

  • push ur self more and more

  • yea push yourself to run even further and try to run faster and harder each time, and goodluck.

  • Thanks :) I will try harder everyday! How far can you run?

  • most i've done is about 7 miles but I will go as far as I have to

  • cool ur AWESOME!!! i wish i could do that! Did you ever have my problem?

  • Of course I did, just a few years ago in middle school I couldnt even run a mile, and then I started lifting and getting into better shape. Im actually a sprinter and decided to do cross country this year.

  • lmao im a junior in highschool lmao im supposed to be a sophmore (skipped kindergarden) but that is a different story lol... but what weight lifting strategy do u have for your legs because my biceps are already big.

  • lol I actually just do whatever but if you are looking for strength then id say leg press, squats, leg curls, and leg extensions would probably help alot

  • thanks man ur the best!!!!!!! but what is leg extensions lol that is probably a dumb question lol but please tell me.

  • lol, for leg extensions you need a machine to do it on and you just have weights on it and you sit on the machine then extend your legs out. easy.

  • the best exercises you could do are squats, deadlifts, and some romanian deadlifts or straight leg deadlifts, or weighted lunges

  • she looks like a human bobble head from the time he starts to speak

  • The music in this video is from Hot For Words.

  • i was just looking at her tits da hole time

  • Guys ...I have an Excellent coach.....

I just moved to the us from Kenya 2 years ago ( I know What your thinking....)...........But Freshman Year I Ran 20's Soph year 18's , and during the summer( when we got our new coach).....we did 5 miles @ 95% of race pace and I Improved from 31 min to 26 min!.....Over the summer !.......Now I Run 15:10 ( My PR ).................Do this excersise along with at least 11 miles on your long run.......And Maybe You'll Run Like A Kenyan Today!

  • fuk u and kenya i wanna learn the ethiopian way

  • Thanks man thats great for you.

  • 1:56

  • Haha.

2 or 3 mile long run?

As a sophomore in high school, I'm supposed to do 5 all the way up to 12 miles at once.

  • yeah my highschool cross country team really pounds in the miles to

  • I'm supposed to run 390 miles this summer.. haha I've only done 75.

  • I know! Me too. It's so funny watching these vids.

  • I haea 10K july 4th.

  • I just ran a 5K yesterday. It was a walk for poverty, but my mom, stepdad and I all ran it in 27 minutes!

  • i got x-country but we're running 300 miles in 10 weeks so i think im set.

  • I really need this, I'm doing xc this year.

  • ok u dont really need to train 4 a 5k. its not that long

  • anyone can run 5k :/

  • Americans are increasingly getting fat and obese, true. For someone who has never run before, these are good tips. I took up running at the age of 29 because I wanted to lose weight and it worked! I trained for at least 3 months before I entered my first 5k race.

  • how long did it take to lose weight and how much did u lose?

  • Well, I went from 215 to about 190 in those 3 months. I remember hitting the treadmill at our local Y and went 2 miles...took nearly 25 minutes!! LOL

  • wow 25 pounds? i lost it similiarly but i did karate and didnt run for a whole summer

  • of course you need to train it is still a race

  • silly british people!

  • hey now im not fat at all i just got into jogging and i thought i would test my endurance so the 5k in Baltimore June 7 will be my first

  • Good luck on your first 5K! You will remember it for the rest of your life!!

  • thanks and did u run everyday?

  • usually every other day. I started slow, like 11 to 12 minute miles until I was running 3 miles. By the time I ran my first 5k, I was able to go 5 miles in about 50 minutes.

  • not to beat u we dont have to

  • Ah. I was just thinking I needed some sort of motivation. I was doing so well then I just stopped. This is just what I had in mind! Thanks!

  • how much is 5K. again????

  • 3.1 miles :D

  • it is like 3 miles

  • Comment removed

  • In my prime I was able to do six minute miles. How do I do that again? Do you know of any steroids I can take to get me there?

  • Great tips. I actually run up and down hills. I never thought about doing a sprint session. Thanks.

  • All the best Sarah!!!

  • Couch 2/to 5K is a good plan, too! It even comes with a mp3/podcast where the guy tells when to start running. Nice music, too.

    Good luck, Sarah!

  • Can you tell me where to find that podcast?

  • The best way to train is to join your local road runner's club. They're all over the place. The unfortunate thing is they'll get you addicted to running. Before you know it you forget family and friends so that you can get high running five miles, ten miles, fifteen miles and then twenty miles. After that you abandon your family and friends in search of marathons all over the country. Your wife divorces you and your kids disown you. The only subject you talk about is running.

  • Great post!

  • kewl, now i just have to stop stuffing my face with potato chips and candy bars!! weeeeeee!

  • great video! Looking to do a 5k this upcoming May and really appreciated the tips :)

  • i'm planning to run a 5k soon, so this helps, thanks!!

  • I'm due at the end of May and want to start training after that ASAP for a 5k in mid October... I think it can be done.

  • i need one for how to turn on my pc, im dumb like that.

  • Thanks for the tips =] I'm actually looking for a 5k to run for a cause. Best wishes on ur training =]

  • good luck! i bet you'll win, you seem so in shape :)

  • just spend a lot of time running, you get used to it... that's it really

  • really handy video, im doing one this summer, looks like i have more training to do than i thought!

ive been going 2 runs a week!

  • I've always wanted to start running. This has helped. I'm scared of doing like he said and on the first day having to get a shin splint. lol. :]

  • Runners World magazine this month has a good how to for beginners - start out walking 10 minutes, run for 10, then walk for ten, slowly increase the amount of time you run and decrease amount you walk. sooner than later, you'll feel the difference.

  • that's a good suggestion.

  • Thanks so much, I'll definitely try that. :]

  • good luck on your 5k! i ran my first one two years ago and im now 3 weeks out from my first half marathon :)

  • Thanks for the tips! I've always been a fan of running longer distances. It clears my mind a bit, and i get to meet new people. Did a couple of 5k runs, and one 10k.

I was dead for the next week or so after the 10k one. Going to prepare better for the next one in August, and this will help greatly.
