  • I Have The Magellan RoadMate 2200t ... It Cant Turn ON ! HELP !

  • hey, i dont have the driver to my gps, just the cable. theres no way for me to update my gps because the pc doesnt recognize any usb ports of my gps. when i use the new hardware wizard, it said it cant be installed because it cant get the necessary software. can you help? thx!

  • @Alex050796 Visit magellangps . com

  • How can i Update Mapps to this 2000?

  • You must visit the official Magellan website and pay to download the map pack they released. Google Magellan GPS and it is the first link that comes up.

  • Magellan offers an updated with improved graphics and OS/GUI for the 2000 but they charge $80! F THEM

  • I saw that the other month, its totally outrageous! Its better to just buy a new GPS for that much and give your old one to a friend.

  • That's even more than Garmin! Tomtom doesn't do that but however their directions are not for me; they don't believe in taking U.S. routes.

  • I have a Magellan RoadMate 2200T (Includes what the 2000 has, but also includes maps of Canada.)

FYI, I travel within the U.S. and Canada.

  • How is the 2200T? It's on sale right now for $80 at the Source, I was searching for reviews but there are none on youtube, I'm guess there's no real-time traffic updates but can you download anything to tell you about roadtraps??

  • Thanks for showing, I may have to get this one since I just need a quick affordable way to get to customers addresses in a new area I will be working in.

  • Get the Crossover instead, but if you find a Road Mate at a much lower cost then get it. there is free firmware(Ver. 2.14) to convert it to a full Crossover that will make the Road Mate Text to Speech capable, but the topo and marine maps will be locked untill you purchase the unlock codes from Magellan.

  • Im a long haul 48 state truck driver. This is the GPS unit I have, and I can highly recommend it! its also great to use in heavy fog or snow--when road signs may be un-readable. because of fuel prices and our drivers logs--its SAVED ME ALOT OF MONEY already!

  • thanks! looks like I'm going to get this and save some $. I was gonna go with a Garmin

  • Your welcome!

Yeah, the only real different is the interface on the pricier GPS is nice. Other then that...apples to apples. And I have to wonder if someone has hacked this thing to use user customizable icons...which would be sweet :]

  • whats the different to the roadmate 1200?

  • I don't know.

  • Do you have to pay a monthly fee for the satellite service?

  • Nope, its free. The US Army runs/maintains the GPS network.

    Free is good :]

  • Cool first view!
